30th June 2024:
Vielen herzlichen Dank!

Very friendly and polite couple who made us feel very welcome. Rooms were excellent and gardens were beautiful. Breakfast excellent and we were most satisfied with everything on offer. Great position for local train and bus service so did not have to keep using the car.
Tips:Becks Fish & Chip Restaurant close by with lots of parking spaces and a varied menu. Catch local train to St. Ives - only minutes to walk from Lodge to station. National Trust Manor House 22 miles, away well worth a visit, just outside of Newquay.

Tips:I didn't spend any time in Lelant. I had a walk round St Ives, very picturesque, and can recommend a drink in The Sloop

Beautiful place, good location, spotless clean, tasty breakfast, friendly hosts who are giving top service to their guests.
Tips:Very good location, train station is close, available bus services and enough space for parking of your own car. Lots of famous Cornish landmarks are in close distance. The local restaurant/pub The Badger Inn is 5 min walk and they are serving lovely food . I highly recommend Halwell lodge, we return there definitely again.

Excellent facilities, interior decoration and breakfast quality. The owners have chosen quality items for the rooms. Also good garden and parking area.
Tips:Even though this is a lodge it feels like a luxurious hotel so great for recovering, relaxing and refuelling after local walks or trips to St Ives

Had a wonderful stay with Tressa and Steve. They made us feel welcomed and our entire time there was comforting. The lodge is in a perfect location for a calming stay and also for going to other destinations, being close to the train station. I would recommend walking though as the lodge is close to the coastal path which a beautiful walk.
Tips:Just up the road from halwell lodge is the badger Inn, which is a cosy pub and accommodation, that does a nice pub dinner and also has quiz and bingo nights. Head along to Carbis Bay and St Ives for more restaurants however be aware that they do get booked up rather quickly so plan ahead.

Such a warm welcome at Halwell Lodge. We only stayed 3 nights and wish we’d had longer. The breakfast was top notch and the cheery service to match. We have already recommended to several people and look forward to returning.
Tips:The train station is walking distance away. Parking can be tricky peak season in st ives. Hassle free and quicker to get the train straight to porthminster beach. Beautiful sea views along the 5 minute journey and you alight a stones throw from the beach . This is also a great way to get into st ives in the evening . The trains run late and no one has to drive!

Great b&b in good location, very good choices for breakfast and option of an evening meal in the accommodation. Hosts very helpful with local information.
Tips:We particularly enjoyed walking on the coast path and the beautiful local beaches, seeing the seals at Godrevy and trying out local Hayle restaurants in the evening. The Tate was good for a visit on a wet and windy day.

Very friendly and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble, and a lovely breakfast each day.
Tips:The watermill is a good option for evening meal. Godrivy nature reserve is a lovely place to visit, and for the keen walkers the coastal path to St Ives provides some beautiful sights.

I stay in hotels and guest houses all over the UK many time a year and can honestly say that our stay at Halwell Lodge was perfect. Steve and Tress are fabulous hosts taking the time to chat with guests and answer any questions. Halwell Lodge is beautifully furnished and decorated, the breakfast in the morning was exceptional
Tips:100 meters from the Badger Inn, a great pub serving excellent food and beer

Hosts were immediately welcoming and friendly. You step through the front door into a family home and it feels just right! Our room was bright and comfortable with everything we needed for our stay which unfortunately, was only one night! Lovely white, fluffy towels in the en-suite with toiletries should you need them. Breakfast...….amazing.Lovely choice of cereals and, my favorite, fresh fruit and greek yoghurt. I have never tasted bacon like it. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. We even left our car there after booking out so we could go out for a walk...….to walk that breakfast off!

There was only one slight reservation and that was the size of the en-suite bathroom which is a little cramped, but manageable unless you are over 6'.
Tips:The local pub (The Badger) does lovely food and is only 200 yards up the road. Unfortunately not much else to say as we were only there for a single night

Halwell Lodge is lovely house with great owners. There are 4 rooms for guests ( 2 on ground floor and 2 on 1 floor). Excellent beds with Laura Ashley bedding. Cosmetics are from Eden. Nice towels. The only negative is small bathrooms. But with all needed facilities and very clean. Breakfast if great, served on bone china and crystals. Guests can use conservatory and garden. There is a lot of parking space. Owners are great people, who provide excellent and very friendly service.

25th April 2016:
The ambience of the house was very warm and attractive as were our hosts Peter and Debbie. We were well looked after. Breakfast was first class ,served in a fresh looking dining room with a lovely bowl of fresh fruit ,yogurts, and cereals to tempt you to start with. Fresh flowers were placed around the house adding colour. Very beautiful . We had room 4 which had an extra nook with a single bed giving the feeling of a small suite of rooms and extra space.
Tips:Halwell lodge is very well placed with Penzance 10 minutes away . There is park and ride to st Ives close by ,very necessary in the high season I imagine. There is a nice pub within walking distance and a pub/restaurant ( Watermill), and a wine bar serving tapas type foods within walking distance or 2 minutes by car if you don't want a walk back up the hill.
