We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Chy an Gwedhen. Heidi and Pete were the perfect hosts, friendly and knowledgeable of the local area. There is free onsite parking for all guests. We walked into the town centre every day (about 15 minutes down a relatively steep coastal path) and got the bus back up again. St Ives is a lovely place and we will certainly stay at this B&B again in the future.

Amazing, possibly the best guest house I've ever stayed in. Well-organised and friendly. Brilliant view from our room. Reasonable walk to St Ives with plenty of benches en route if needed. Note there's a communal fridge in the hall - great if you like to bring your own milk.

We found Scoff Trough in St Ives was cheerful and good selection of meals. The St Ives museum is great: eclectic and interesting local history.

Heidi and Pete were excellent hosts, very informative about St Ives and the surrounding areas. It was lovely to have hosts with such a great sense of humour. The room and breakfast area were outstanding and the decor was superb. The outside seating area was very smart with views over the bay. Parking was also a huge bonus. Pete cooks an amazing breakfast with local produce. Not only can you walk various ways into the town but there is also an excellent bus route right outside the accommodation. Would recommend these hosts and their property to anyone thinking of visiting St Ives. Thank you Heidi and Pete for making our stay so pleasurable.

Pete and Heidi were amazing hosts, both very welcoming,friendly and happy. We were made to feel at home straight away.

A pleasant walk down in to St.Ives. The PednOlva always good for refreshments and food. Peppers a nice little Italian pasta and pizza place. For something handy, just down the road is The Cornish Arms where they serve good pub food. Worth a visit is Tremenheere gardens near Penzance,lovely woodland garden with fabulous views.They also have a good restaurant.

Had a lovely stay at the Chy an Gwedhen every thing about it was perfect our room was spotless clean it catered for every thing we needed the breakfast was spot on gorgeous and so fresh the host Hedi and Pete was so friendly and they gave us Advise about place's to visit in Devon the location was great too just 20 minutes walk all down hill to St Ives Bay and you could get the bus back if you didn't want to walk I would definitely recommend this place

Could not ask for better hosts in Peter and Heidi. Make you feel welcome and part of the family. Excellent accommodation, which is spotlessly clean with everything you need in your rooms. Both have an excellent knowledge of the area and can give you all the advice you need on the local area and beyond. Cannot recommend highly enough if you’re looking for a short break or longer stay.

We stayed this time for 3 nights, lovely 10-15 mins stroll along coastal path into St. ives from the accommodation. We dined at rum and crab, lovely cocktails, and The Mex, stunning Mexican food and large portions. Plenty of lovely bars at the harbour front. Last night we used Becks, brilliant fish and chips restaurant or takeaway. On a rainy day the Geevor tin mine is well worth a tour for local history, st Micheals mount is also well worth a visit to the castle and gardens. Also enjoyed kynance cove and sennen cove, beautiful beaches, crystal clear waters.

Absolutely fantastic stay here for 5 nights in August 2023. Brilliant location, close to St Ives which was a great place to eat on an evening. The room was clean and Pete and Heidi who own the property were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay and we will definitely be back/recommended to others!

Porthcurno beach is a personal favourite (about a 40 minute drive). Mr Bs ice cream parlour in Hayle does some of the nicest ice cream around. Thai Talay was a lovely restaurant on the harbour front in St Ives. They don’t take bookings so worth getting down there early.

Excellent hosts , nothing is too much trouble for them .Easy going , and very informative about the area .Lovely Breakfasts, we could not find any faults with the Hosts or the accommodation.

Chy an Gwedhen is located on the St Ives Rd. You are on the doorstep of a lovely coastal footpath into St Ive ,which takes around 15 minutes . The bus stops are 2 minutes away , for St Ives , and other locations such as Penzance . There is a Railway Branch line ,5 minutes away ,that joins you with the Main line five minutes away. There are various places to eat , in the area.

La Casita restaurant very good Becks fish and chip restaurant good too, but pricey on the drinks! Cornish Arms was fine for a pub meal The Gannet Inn very good, fine food. Ugly Butterfly nice food, beautiful setting overlooking the Bay.

My cousin Ann has asked me to respond on her behalf and to let you know that from start to finish her stay at Chy an Gwedhen was a delight. Heidi and Pete were friendly and helpful, breakfast were delicious and her room was comfortable and equipped with everything she could possibly need. Ann and I would certainly recommend Chy an Gwedhen to other travellers. PS The location is excellent to; good public transport services, supermarket close by and a vast choice of places to eat and to visit.

The house is in an ideal location. We had access to the local bus stop which is literally opposite to the house, we also had walking access to the beautiful coastal path which leads to the beach. The house was very clean and tidy, especially the bathroom. The house also has a lovely back garden which has a stunning view of the sea. We were greeted very positively by Pete & Heidi who helped us with the smooth check in. We had a tumultuous journey to the house because our car broke down, but their warm welcome put us to ease and their hospitality blew our mind. We also enjoyed the morning breakfast 😋. Overall we were extremely satisfied with our stay and would love to come back. 😄

The walk to the town centre and the beach through the coastal path is beautiful and is a must. Do make use of the various brochures and pamphlets available at the reception area, they are very handy.

A lovely welcoming couple, who make you feel at home straight away. You only have to ask about local services and local places of interest. They have very good knowledge and are very helpful. The accommodation is very clean and tidy, the breakfasts were ideal as you could order the day before and you only had what you wanted. We really enjoyed our stay, thank you.

There is a bus from very near the front of the property. Some guests were using their free bus passes to go all around Cornwall. There are more than one bus route to St Ives. Chy an Gwedhen is in a good position for visiting around Cornwall. We went to the Harbour fish and chips restaurant in the harbour of St Ives, their fish was wonderful and the Cornish Cider, brilliant.

What a gem, Chy an Gwedhen is. The hosts Heidi and Pete are true advocates of hospitality at its best. with a wealth of local knowledge we were given tips on where to eat, what to see and do. The accommodation is kept spotlessly clean and the room we stayed in (Maple) was comfortable with a lovely sea view. The breakfast cooked by Pete was scrumptious and plentiful with plenty of choice. I would recommend anyone to stay at Chy an Gwedhen 10 out of 10 for Pete and Heidi. we will definately go back.

What a gem, Chy an Gwedhen is situated in a great location for travelling by bus, train or on foot. Local Buses to most areas of Cornwall stop 30yards from the accommodation. Carbis Bay and St Ives stations are within reasonable walking distances. On foot a mostly downhill scenic walk into St Ives via the coast path is a must. Althogh our stay was out of season there were plenty of things to see and do. Art Galleries,Historic Houses and Gardens and Industrial heritage sites.

Lovely B&B Heidi and Pete really friendly made us feel instantly welcome and relaxed.Also gave us lots of info and advice on the area. Room was spotless and a lovely sea view ,location great right next to the coastal path for walking either into St Ives or down to Carbis Bay.Breakfast was really good well cooked and good quality,what more could you ask for. Great value for money would definitely say here again.

Lots of lovely restaurants in St Ives recommend Sea food cafe, also lovely pub Cornish arms right near the B&B we had two lovely meals there. Lovely walk Carbis bay beach quiet a steep walk back though. We liked walking down to St Ives on the coastal path but came back along the main road which was easier.

If ,like us,you've never been to St Ives before ,it is advisable to book a table for dinners as walking in is very disappointing to find everywhere is booked On Pete's advice we took a trip round to Hayle to The Bluff Inn and it was fantastic, especially at lunchtime St Ives is a very hilly place but is easily walkable from Chy an Gwedhen,the walk back is a challenge if you're not used to walking but is in walking distance

Fabulous stay! Pete and Heidi were so welcoming and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in room 3 overlooking Carbis Bay and the view was stunning. The room was lovely and clean and the breakfasts were delicious. Perfect location and just a 20 minute walk down into town. We will certainly stay here again when down in St. Ives.

There is the Sloop Inn for a nice meal and the atmosphere sat outside is nice too. We watched the sunset from the Porthmeor beach cafe and there is also Porthminster beach cafe that does a barbecue every day. There were lots of choices for gluten free also.

Really enjoyed our stay. Room and bathroom were spotlessly clean and really nicely decorated. Excellent choice and quality of breakfasts. Location was really good. Only 20 minute walk to St Ives or down onto beautiful Carbis Bay beach but quite steep climb back. Heidi and Pete were the perfect hosts and gave us lots of tips and advice about where to go and made us laugh every day.

Quite a few nice restaurants near by. Would recommend the Badger Inn and La Casita which are both only a few minutes drive away. Parking could be quite tight but we managed to get a space every day

We had a lovely stay with Pete and Heidi. They made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. Our room was excellent, really comfy bed, lots of storage space for clothes etc and a fabulous sea view. Breakfast was also excellent with a lovely variety of fresh fruit which we had, plus hot food cooked to order. Buses were frequent and the bus stop was only a very short walk away. Would definitely recommend.

Loved everything about the place and the hosts, Pete and Heidi. Very friendly and always available for advice. Excellent breakfast choice and well organized so it all felt very relaxed. We also appreciated the parking availability, as it made is so easy to forget about the car for a week.

The house is in a lovely position overlooking the sea and a beautiful 20-30 minute walk downhill into St. Ives. Lots of good bus connections there, so we never used the car in a week.

What a relaxing break,we were allocated room 5’Palm’We had a fantastic view across St.Ives’s bay from our large bedroom window.The en-suite was modern with complimentary toiletries and the bedroom was comfortable with a modern decor.There was a large selection on the breakfast menu for everybody’s palate but I was quite happy with Petes full English breakfast,it was brilliant.Heidi did forget to put the sugar on the dining table one morning and forgot to switch the radio on in the dining room but I’m sure Pete will soon get her up to speed.A great couple and establishment.

Stunning place with fantastic views. Excellent service. Can't fault our stay. Highly recommended.

Plenty of things to do and sea. Lovely coastal walk to Hayle or At Ives. There's also a bus or train ride just minutes from the door. Glengudrun Gardens near by. We had a delicious meal in a little place called the Mermaid which I'd highly recommend. If you like pasties then we recommend Philps pasties .

Pete and Heidi are the perfect hosts at their scrupulously clean, well appointed and comfortable home. Beds, linen and towels are all soft and fresh. Our room was simply furnished but with everything you needed. The bathroom was spotless. Most rooms look towards Carbis Bay and have beautiful sea views. Breakfasts (ordered and texted the night before) are cooked using local produce and delicious. Once parked up (in their private car parking space) you don’t need to use the car again. The path next to the property leads down to the fabulous beaches of Carbis Bay or Porthminster and St Ives. Covid precautions are all in place to ensure you feel safe during your stay. Highly recommended.

Very enjoyable stay room was really nice and a comfy bed and breakfast was lovely really tasty and in the lovely little cosy dining room. Only small negative was the shower as had no power and vert temperamental with the temperature. Pete and Heidi are great and very friendly.

the sloop Inn pub, talay thai restaurant, hub restaurant, local fish and chips. Visit St Michael's Mount, the Minack Theatre def worth a visit and only around 10 miles to each from St Ives.

Hosts Heidi and Pete were really welcoming and helpful, the breakfasts were superb and the room (we were lucky enough to have one with a sea view) was comfortable and well appointed.

Excellent place to stay if you are going to anything at Tregenna Castle, just a short walk away. A walk along the coastal path (flat shoes essential) is strongly recommended. Tesco superstore nearby.

You have lovely accommodation which is spotlessly clean and very friendly. It was nice to be greeted each morning with a smile and a chat and to be given information about the area which we had not visited before.

It is easy to walk from the door straight on to the coastal path to St Ives or towards Hayle or to walk to St Ives along the road or catch the frequent bus service. We ate at The Cornish Arms nearby and St Ives has many lovely restaurants,coffee shops and galleries. The train journey from St Erth to St Ives is very scenic.

I have nothing bad to say about this b&b. In fact I loved it. I loved everything about it. The hosts went above and beyond in every way. The room had breathtaking views and was spacious and spotless. Breakfast is never a priority for me but the choice is fantastic. Location ju St o perfect. Just love this place !!!!

Use the path at the side of the house to walk to St Ives. Try BeanInn vegetarian restaurant down the road. Amazing vegan and vegetarian food but be sure to book. The hosts will advise on sights to see and give directions and maps

Friendly family run B&B - good communication prior to visit regarding parking etc. Great welcome from Heidi and Pete - lovely prepared/cooked to order breakfasts. Will certainly try to book in again whenever visiting the area.

Cornish Arms was perfect for evening meal and within easy walking distance. Also ate lunch at the Pedn Olva in St Ives - to avoid difficult parking in the town we travelled in by train and back by bus.

Fantastic, beautiful place and really enjoyed our stay. Pete and Heidi were amazing, warm and welcoming with great local knowledge and provided a great breakfast. Room was really clean and comfortable. Parking space was a great advantage. Location was perfect so we walked everywhere and left the car for our three night stay. Would highly recommend!

Within walking distance to Carbis Bay and into St Ives. Beaches are stunning and great coastal walks. Olive cafe in St Ives is a must for a cream tea.

On our arrival, Heidi and Pete were immediately welcoming, charming and helpful. They couldn't have made us feel more welcome and we immediately knew we were going to enjoy our stay. The use of a fridge, available beer and soft drinks, wonderful breakfast and helpful advice about the surrounding area all contributed to our comfort. We would have no hesitation in booking again.

Surfing lessons are great fun and the St.Ives Surf School on Porthmeor Beach are sure to look after you. Shop and restaurant prices seem to have risen in St.Ives but the beaches and harbour are still wonderful places to visit. We loved the boat trip to Seal Island and found a cosy old style pub at The Cornish Arms on St.Ives Road near Chy an Gwedhen.
