Julie Justin & Arthur are the perfect hosts. We received a very warm welcome. Our en-suite room was lovely. Julie cooked delicious breakfasts & Justin was very attentive & fun. The location of The Olive Branch is in a lovely area & within easy walking distance of town & beaches.
Tips:We dined at Peppers Pasta & Pizza restaurant & The Union Inn both we would wholeheartedly recommend. The service was great & meals extremely good. We also enjoyed several evenings of live music in The Union Inn. St.Ives is a beautiful town steeped in history with its quaint cobbled streets & many independant shops .The beaches are clean & the sea & coastline magnificent.

I had a lovely stay at The Olive Branch. I liked the location being close to both bus and train stations but being out of the bustle of the town. Breakfast options and breakfasts were excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed our helpful discussions at that time. My room was spotless and well equipped for a comfortable stay.
Tips:My favourite restaurant in St Ives is Silco on the waterfront near Smeatons Pier. Another good one was Adore. The Barbara Hepworth gallery and garden and St Ives Museum were both fascinating. Further afield St Michael’s Mount is a must .. and a visit to Mousehole. A walk along the coastal track in both directions from St Ives is lovely too.

1st October 2024:
A comfortable and cosy Cornish bed and breakfast place, very convenient for all the St Ives attractions. A warm welcome from our friendly hosts Julie, Justin and Arthur the dog!Champion breakfast too and good selection of food.
Tips:We would recommend visiting the Tate and Barbara Hepworth galleries, the Royal St Ives cinema and the many art and craft shops. The Talay Thai restaurant to eat,or the Union pub. We had a cream tea in a quieter place near the front and Sky's Diner did excellent Cornish pasties. We came by train so visiting Penzance made an easy day out, Penlee Gallery there.

28th September 2024:
A warm welcome on arrival from the charming hosts, Julie and Justin, who carried my heavy case up to my (single)room and explained how everything works. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, with a beautiful en suite and helpful touches such as a mini fridge and daily fresh milk for that all important cuppa first and last thing. Julie's breakfasts are wonderful, with everything home made and served with a smile. It's peaceful and just a short walk into town. Handy for the train station too. I highly recommend the Olive Branch and thank Julie and Justin for their kindness to me during my stay at this very professionally run but friendly B&B.
Tips:I dined a couple of times at The Razor Clam which is a ten minute walk downhill from the Olive Branch. Good food and service. The Art Walk about Barbara Hepworth was very interesting, as was the Leach Pottery tour, and a talk about Troika pottery at Porthmeor Studios (I bought a piece when visiting some 50 years ago!). The local pubs offered some live music in the evenings during the Arts Festival.Met some amazing people, locals and visitors. All had stories to tell, and it seemed to be a place for memories and healing. I was sad to leave, in spite of the wild weather on the last day.

18th September 2024:
Both Judie and Justin were excellent hosts who aimed to make our stay at the Olive Branch as perfect as possible. Breakfast preparation was to the point, both with respect to timing and to taste as we liked it. Our room (bedroom and bath) was in very good condition. Everything needed was available, ranging from sufficient space in the wardrobe to hair dryer and toilet articles. The location of the B&B was ideal for us, with only short walking distances to all relevant places (harbour, center, but also bus stop, railway station). We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend this B&B to everyone who likes a relaxed atmosphere with the hosts and other guests together with a very good accommodation.
Tips:Too many to name them all - a range of good restaurants with very good local food, but also the usual Pizza and indian food. For those who like hiking, there is the coastal path recommended, which extends from St Ives in both easterly and westerly direction along the coast, with dramatic views along the rugged coastline. Travelling to other interesting locations (St Michaels Mount, ...) is easy using the local bus network.

Julie, Justin & trainee Rachel 😀 were extremely accommodating. They gave us good advice and tips of places to visit during our stay. My husband said Julie’s breakfasts were the best he had ever had and I second that with her scrambled eggs. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit there and would highly recommend The Olive Branch as a great base for visiting St Ives.
Tips:We recommend The Host for their baked hake dish. Not for the faint hearted but try the coastal walk to Zennor where you can get rewarded with good food and drinks at The Tinners Arms. Or for a more steadier coastal walk, go the opposite way to The Badger Inn at Lelant.

8th June 2024:
Justin and Julie made us very welcome in their lovely home, not forgetting Arthur the handsome Tibetan terrier... and everything was available to make our stay very comfortable, with sea views from our room. An extensive breakfast was offered with plenty of choice, from home made meusli, jam and marmalade to eggs, bacon, smoked salmon and much more! Our hosts are very knowledgeable about the area and are keen supporters of the Cornwall area.
Tips:The Olive branch is a short, at the most a 5 min walk to the town, and sea front.. always easier on the way down as St Ives is a hilly place to stay. The bus service is excellent, much more relaxing than travelling in your car, taking you to Penzance or Lands End stops all along the way. The restaurants and pubs have their own mark and we enjoyed every one! Many with beautiful sea views. We found the people of St Ives very pleasant and helpful if we had any questions. We visited the museum, that had plenty of memorabilia to spend some time re living the past, all run by volunteers. We went to The Guildhall, for a wedding then a walk to the Chapel on the hill for a blessing...a lovely place to get married!!!

Compliments to Justin, Julie and Arthur on making our short stay perfect. Fantastic warm and welcoming hosts. Would give the bed and breakfast stay 10/10 and will be returning without a doubt. Room was comfortable, spacious and high quality standard of facilities. Breakfast was absolutely delicious and Justin was a dedicated and knowledgable host, helping us decide where to go in the local environment. Check-in to the b and b was straight forward and parking was available. Arthur the dog was a faithful, friendly companion. Highly recommended. Small tasteful touches made all the difference. 23rd May 2024:
The property is run by husband & wife team (Justin & Julie) & a security guard named Arthur (family pet dog). The location is within walking distance to the beach, restaurants, cafes, pubs & supermarkets. It’s very quiet interrupted occasionally by the seagulls “quaking”. The room is very clean, well maintained & there is unlimited supply of beverages & biscuits. I love the heated towel rail in the bathroom. At breakfast, Justin would provide the daily weather forecast, the town's news & politics. While Julie would prepare the many varieties of hot breakfasts which you pre-order the night before. Her bagle with scrambled egg & smoke salmon is delicious. You can’t ask for better hosts. Sometimes, Arthur might come in & check on the guests! It makes our 7 nights’ stay very comfortable & homely.
Tips:I would recommend a local restaurant called Razor Clam which serves good food at reasonable price. It's worth walking to the St Nicholas Chapel (about 18 minutes leisurely walk) via the beach front & see the stunning views of the coastline.

10th May 2024:
I loved my stay at the Olive Branch. I was not familiar with St Ives and was staying solo for work with some time tacked on for a break. Everything was as you would want it - lovely room, comfy bed, great shower and fabulous breakfasts! Justin and Julie were so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. I'm a cat person and found Arthur to be a great dog, never barked and was no bother at all so fear not if you're bit nervy of dogs like me. I arrived by train and found the property no problem. It is up a little hill but that was a bonus for me as I indulged in too much cake so was good for my health, and you'd be hard pressed to stay in a seaside location without encountering an incline or two. The location was great for a walk at the beginning and the end of the day, near a quiet beach but also nearby to the other beaches and the town and museums. I would definitely recommend and would have no hesitation in staying again. Thank you Justin, Julie and Arthur! I felt recharged and rested. :)
Tips:I chose to visit Tate St Ives this time as I had visted the Hepworth Museum about 20 years ago. Tate was OK but somewhat underwhelming, wish I'd gone back to the Hepworth. It was also walkable to the Leach Museum at the top of the town from the Olive Branch, a nice little museum. You don't need long there and there is a nice walk from there down to the town with sea views. My favourite find for a quiet cup of tea is the small cafe in the church by the war memorial. It's intended to be a place of calm and quiet so suggest you go elsewhere if in family groups or want to make phone calls etc, but if you are solo or a couple looking for some peace and a cuppa it's perfect. Nice train ride to Penzance with a quick change at St Erth, but good views of Hayle estury and sea views.

Exactly what you need to start the day. My first visit to St Ives and I could not have chosen a better place to be.
Tips:Came to visit Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden which were excellent. Try Porthmeor Beach Cafe,Porthminster Kitchen and Silco Bar and Kitchen. Wonderful food and lovely staff. St Ives offers everything you could want from a beautiful town with the benefit of an amazing backdrop. Appreciate the town and treat with respect.

Julia and Justin, the hosts, are a lovely couple and, together with Arthur, there is a warm, friendly atmosphere at The Olive Branch. The accommodation is very good and the breakfasts excellent. There are also so many beautiful places to visit in the area.(Julia and Justin are always helpful and happy to advise). We have no hesitation in recommending the Olive Branch, it is outstanding.
Tips:A walk around picturesque St.Ives is a must -maybe have a meal at The Pilot Inn. Three NT places well worth a visit locally are St. Michael's Mount, Marazion (check the tide times): Nearby Mousehole with its quaint little harbour, Godrevy for scenic walk (see the seals), Kynance Cove (beautiful place for a walk. Visit the little cafe there), Sennen Cove has great sandy beach (popular with surfers), Becks, near St.Ives for the best fish and chips or alternative menu.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Olive Branch. Location was great and with the added bonus of parking. It was within easy walking distance to the centre of town and the beaches. Justin was very helpful about where to visit and which pubs and restaurants to try. The room was super, spotless and with a sea view. Breakfast was delicious - great choices and beautifully prepared. Nothing was too much trouble, both Justin and Julie were lovely as was gorgeous Arthur. Would thoroughly recommend a stay here.
Tips:Not too far to visit St Michael’s Mount and Land’s End. The Rum and Crab Shack - a quirky venue with sea views. The Sloop pub was great - traditional pub serving decent food.

I throughly enjoyed my 5 night stay at the olive branch. Julie and Justin are such lovely people who made each breakfast a joy. Their breakfasts were provided very promptly and where of a high standard. There was always fresh milk and chilled water provided throughout the day. On my last day I was provided with a substantial breakfast to take away with me due to leaving early. My room was lovely, bright and airy with a balcony offering views of St Ives. I think the favourite part of my stay was big fusses with the lovely Arthur, the resident 4 legged fur baby! As far as I’m aware the B&B doesn’t accept young children and for me personally that was a bonus because it meant I had a quiet and relaxing stay.
Tips:The olive branch is perfectly situated with everything you could need within easy reach. The train and bus station is just a few minutes walk which is ideal if you don’t drive. There are I think 4 beaches which again are very local and the southwest coast path can be accessed easily for those who want to stretch their legs further. The sun sets from the chapel on the island are absolutely amazing. All shops and restaurants are also within easy reach and the restaurant’s I tried were very accommodating for single people.

Warm and friendly hosts - it was a real pleasure to be made so welcome into your home. Breakfast was top notch and a relaxed affair - with lots of hot coffee. We really liked the additional tender care given to the room, with hidden factual books . We will have no hesitation in returning !
Tips:St. Ives has lots to see and do, and we enjoyed eating at the beachside cafe opposite the Tate - this was much better than the Tates cafe. Equally, the Union pub was a relaxed and friendly place just to have a drink. We went to all of the recommended sites but really enjoyed the actual St.I see museum - it may be a bit cluttered but it gave a real appreciation to the history of St.Ives .

Very conveniently situated B&B in a lovely family home in St Ives. Justin and Julie are very welcoming hosts and have a huge knowledge of the local area. The rooms are spotless, with good supplies of tea and coffee to make yourself. The property has parking which is like diamond dust in St Ives. Julie cooked a delicious breakfast each morning, and nothing was too much trouble. This is our second time visiting The Olive Branch and we had the pleasure of meeting the newest member of the team Arthur. He greeted us each morning at breakfast with a good morning woof and a tail wag. We will definitely find an excuse to visit The Olive Branch again next time we are in the UK.
Tips:The town and quayside are a hive of activity and the shops are vibrant. However you need to be prepared for lots of walking up and down hills and walking on cobblestones so wear good trainers. One day my phone app told me that we had walked the equivalent of 58 flights of stairs and all we did was walk around the area. And beware of the seagulls. They are as big as cats and they work as a team in an effort to get your pastie or chips to drop on the ground. They are ruthless and will sneak up from behind you just to give added surprise. It is a great mornings entertainment to sit on the benches between the beach and the pastie shop and watch them work.

1st June 2022:
We were really lucky to book this B&B last minute - and we found a gem in St Ives! The B&B was easy to find and had the benefit of a parking space which took away the stress of having to find parking in St Ives. The parking area, at the front of the B&B, had space for 5 cars. This meant that some cars were blocked in but this was never a problem - Justin, the host, was on hand to discuss arrangements for who needed to be parked at the front if anyone was driving out of St Ives for the day! The location of The Olive Branch is ideal - it is located within a short walking distance to the beach and shops. It is situated on a hill in a nice quiet area. Check-in times were clear and we received a warm and friendly welcome upon arrival. Our room was lovely - we stayed in Room 4 and, although it was small, it had everything that we we needed and was nice and cosy. The decor was fresh and we had a little en-suite shower and toilet. Everything was spotless and the facilities were well thought out. There was fresh milk in a fridge at the bottom of the stairs, which you could help yourself to to use in your room. There was a nice little pot of biscuits along with tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The process for breakfast was straight-forward - we were asked to fill in what we would like the day before - and this ensured a really smooth running at breakfast time. Cooked by Julie, the breakfast was delicious with lots of choices. Across our stay, we tried the fruit salad, smoked salmon and scrambled egg and the veggie breakfast. The homemade veggie sausages were delicious!! The atmosphere at breakfast time was perfect - this a very welcoming B&B and Justin and Julie were very attentive. Arthur the dog was also very well behaved and made us feel at home! Justin and Julie clearly care about their guests. They offered helpful advice and recommendations about the area and showed a genuine interest in our stay. We were sad to leave and can’t wait to visit again!
Tips:The location was fantastic - a short walk to two beaches and stunning views when walking over the hill to the next beach. A lovely place to visit for shopping in independent artsy shops.

Our stay at The Olive Branch could not have been more perfect. We received a warm welcome by Julie & Justin to their beautiful home. We stayed in Room 3, a huge and lovely room with all the comforts of home and a fabulous sea view. The house is immaculate and the attention to detail was amazing. Lovely Cornish teas, coffees and biscuits in our room and access to fresh milk every day. The absolute icing on the cake is the best breakfast ever, cooked by Julie & served by Justin, they are a great team. Nothing is too much trouble and they easily accomodated my partners gluten free diet. Lots of friendly, helpful advice regarding St.Ives and Cornwall in general. We stayed 5 nights and wished it was longer, can't wait to come back. Thank you Julie & Justin

So pleased that we booked The Olive Branch, Justin & Julie are very welcoming and friendly hosts. Their B&B is extremely clean and well presented, we stayed in room 3 which had a lovely sea view, a very comfortable bed, an excellent hot shower, hairdryer and a good quality toiletries and only a short walk from the town.. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of traditional or eggs Benedict etc, all prepared to order. We had a fabulous stay and highly recommend The Olive Branch.
Tips:Recommend a visit to The Bier Huis, for moules marnier and a wide choice of Belgium beers. La Casita in Carbis Bay for delicious tapas. A 6mile walk on the SW coast to Zennor, a refreshing beer at The Tinners arms and then the bus back to St Ives and finally if the rib-rides are running, do take a trip as it is definitely worth the thrilling fast ride out to the lighthouse to see the seals.

Justin & Julie, We had a wonderful stay at The Olive Branch, our room (5) was so bright and comfortable and very welcoming to come back to each day! And thank you for the most wonderful breakfasts, We did like the breakfast booking idea as well and Waffle Wednesday was a real treat! And thank you for all the tips on where to go and what to do and how to get around St Ives and the surrounding area. St Ives is a lovely place and we do intend to return!! Thank you again for a wonderfull holiday, it was such a shame to have to leave early? And please say hello to Arthur, please give him a napkin from Jan, he did like her toes in the mornings! Dave & Jan Searle,
Tips:St Ives itself was such a lovely place to visit, all the beaches were brilliant and we had intended to walk around Carbis bay on our last day. Away from St Ives, we recommend a visit to St Michaels mount and Marazion, which is a really good day out on its own as is Newlyn bay on a windy day. We also visited Sennen cove which has some amazing views again on a very windy day, very bracing, unfortunately we ran out of time to walk around to Lands end? One of our highlights was to go to a performance at the Minack theatre, we saw a performance of the proms at the Minack but we would recommend a visit to see a performance there, a special place in an amazing setting! On the subject of local restaurants, we did have a lovely meal at the Pedn Olva, and a couple of nice meals in the Union, as a lot of the restaurants were booked up but the food was very nice as was the Ale! We did have a meal booked for our last night at the seafood cafe but unfortunately we had to leave early? But one place we do recommend when visiting St Ives is The Olive Branch and we would love to return!!! Dave and Jan Searle

Justin and Julie are super, welcoming hosts. They take time to have a chat with you about your day and recommend attractions, places to eat etc., with lots of local knowledge. The room was spotless and has a large TV and great powerful shower. We stayed in Room 5 which has a lovely Juliet balcony with a view of the sea. There is lots of choice at breakfast and special diets are accomodated. Breakfast servings are generous and delicious. Arthur the dog is adorable and an entertaining character and will steal your serviette and teabag given a chance! Having a parking place included in your stay is a real bonus too. We will definitely be back!
Tips:We were grateful that Justin had warned us to book restaurants months in advance as there are many more people staycationing this year. We recommend the Bean Inn in Carbis Bay, Thalay Thai and the Sea Room if you like Tapas style meals and our favourite bar was the Belgian Bier Huis which has a huge beer menu and also many gins and liqueurs and tasty tapas and serves great coffee but not open till midday. My favourite morning coffee was at the Canary Cafe on Fore Street.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found you both very friendly and helpfull. The breakfast choices was great with a good selection. The food was very fresh and was hot and well cooked. We loved Arthur and felt very welcome in your home. The reason for a 3 for the location was because of our abilities to get about. We hadn't realised how hilly St.Ives is and the lack of parking made getting about challenging.
Tips:With the Covid situation we found eating out tricky as we hadn't booked anywhere before we came and we wished we had taken your advise. We found Becks resteraunt in Corbis Bay was very good and would recommend that. We also loved the bus trip. The Paradise park was also very good.

The location is perfect for the town and beaches and inside all the original features of the house add to the quality. The rooms are spotlessly clean as of course is the whole place. Breakfast was absolutely lovely and so much choice. Everything is in place to accommodate the current Covid situation with staggered breakfast times which is a really good idea. The whole experience is just made by Justin and Julie who are so friendly and knowledgeable about the area and always will stop and chat and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you so much for going to the trouble of making us some food to travel home with as we missed breakfast as we left early in the morning. Just a really lovely thought which we thought just shows what a thoughtful couple you are. We must also give a big mention to the third member of the family, the lovely George. We hope his paw gets better soon and he is back to normal Would and will recommend The Olive Branch to anybody visiting St. Ives

The b&b was well located. We walked into town within 10mins. I recently came out of hospital and had to learn to walk again. I managed everyday and even went on a coastal path walk (recommend by Justin). Both the owners of the establishment was extremely helpful and full of local knowledge. Nothing is too much of a hassle for them. In the current situation, they have adapted and improvised to make our stay as normal as possible. I cannot thank them enough for our lovely stay!
Tips:The beach restaurant was really good both for lunch & dinner. The bier huis grand cafe was brilliant if you enjoy Belgium beer.. Make sure you book in advance because it will safe you waiting around!

Lovely upbeat couple who no matter what the weather is doing meets you always with a smile and a good bit of banter. A relaxing little haven in a great location for all parts of St. Ives and the surrounding areas. Rooms are lovely, well decorated, fitted and maintained - and they’ve gone plastic free so a very thoughtful and conscientious property too! Great breakfasts :) Thoroughly recommend!
Tips:Restaurants we tried and all were great - The Harbour, Cellar Bistro and Firehouse Bar & Grill. If you only try one of these, it must be the Cellar Bistro :)

We immediately felt welcome on arrival at The Olive Branch. Julie & Justin gave us great suggestions of what might be of interest to us, which was much appreciated. Breakfast each day was lovely and not to be missed, giving us a perfect start to exploring the beauty of St Ives. Our room was very clean, and we slept very well during our stay. The only disappointment was having to go back home.
Tips:St Ives is beautiful in all directions, lots to explore within walking distance. Visit Mutton Cove, Hayle if you’d like to spot seals, remember to bring some binoculars.

Thank-you Julie, Justin and George for an absolutely fabulous stay in beautiful St Ives. The attention to detail, cleanliness and quality were second to none. Our hosts were very friendly, informative and welcomed us into their home. We booked for next year before we left as we were so delighted with this superior guest experience. Breakfast was superbly presented and plentiful.
Tips:What a resort, and we were particularly lucky to have scorching weather for our stay. The guesthouse is in a very good location, particularly for the Northern-soul event we attended; all local pubs, bars and restaurants. From our room we had a beautiful view of Porthminster beach and the harbour. This is a very scenic area of coastline and not one to be missed!

The Olive Branch is a lovely, Guest House, in a great location. Julie & Justin are great hosts, & provide excellent facilities, including a high quality breakfast, rooms, and service. They were friendly, extremely helpful, and gave us plenty of travel advice during our stay. The rooms are clean, modern, & have all you need including toiletries. They made us feel very welcome, and we loved out stay with them in St Ives. I look forward to staying with them again if I return. Would highly recommend a stay at The Olive Branch to anyone visiting the area. Fantastic B&B and people.
Tips:There is a regular bus service taking you back up the hill to the Guest House (from the Square beside Barclays Bank/St Ives Cinema area). This costs £1 per adult one way. This is really handy as we found the hill & steps difficult to climb. If visiting the area I would recommend the Leach Pottery, Barbara Hepworth museum/gardens, St Ives for shopping, Porthminster Beach, & The Minack theatre.

What a lovely place to stay & lovely hosts! Julie, Justn and George were the most wonderful hosts and very helpful with recommendations of things to visit in the local area. This b&b is very close to the downtown/ harbor in St. Ives which is absolutely beautiful. I'd recommend staying here if you go!
Tips:I enjoyed walking to the chapel on the hill in St Ives, buying a Cornish pasty and having a cream tea. The coffee lounge is a nice coffee shop in the downtown area- not far at all from the b&b and I had a cream tea at The Market Place and the scones there were delicious! For Cornish pasty, I liked the ones I bought from the Cornish Bakery. I also visited sennen cove and lands end which were nice! My favorite place was St Ives though. I just really enjoyed this sweet town.

The Olive Branch is the perfect place to stay in St Ives, a short stroll into town and with the added bonus of parking makes it ideal! Room 3 is lovely with a beautiful sea view. All rooms are spotlessly clean and the breakfast is so delicious. The hosts are so friendly and warm, always so welcoming and lovely to stay with. We visit St Ives every year and have stayed at The Olive Tree two years in a row with next year already booked, it’s perfect for us!
Tips:Favourite restaurants are Caffe Pasta, Beer & Bird, Sea Food Cafe and Beach restaurant. Love the Beach bar for a chocolate cocktail and Balcony bar has a good choice of cocktails too! Beer & Bird have the best range of ales - and their food is delicious if you love burgers, nachos and everything topped with melted cheese!! Places to visit - depends on the length of your stay - if you’re only staying for a weekend you’ll have plenty to do in St Ives. If you’re staying for a week, I’d recommend visiting Padstow, Watergate Bay, Sennen Cove, Minack Theatre, Porth Levan, St Michaels Mount...the list goes on but they are our favourites.

I had a wonderful stay here. The owners were so welcoming and friendly and gave me tips on where to visit etc. The room itself was lovely and clean with everything I wanted and a fantastic sea view! I found this to be in the perfect location as it is situated just out of the main town away from the hustle and bustle, yet a 5-10 minute walk away down to the town and closer still to the beautiful beach. An added bonus was the available parking at the property. Thank you for a lovely stay - I will definitely be back!

Friendly and homely B&B. Ours was nice ensuite room with the sea and St Ives 'island' visible over the rooftops. Impressive TV! The only negatives (both minor) were the heavy duvet (we used the bedspread instead, which was fine), and the somewhat cramped breakfast area. But neither of these issues are too significant and certainly wouldn't deter us from further visits.
Tips:We like the Porthminster Kitchen (though not much vegetarian choice) with views over the harbour. Also, although a 'chain', Pizza Express has always been reliable (although do not take bookings so there could be a queue at busy times)

Julie,Justin and George (the dog) treat each and every guest as a friend from first introduction and nothing is too much trouble for them to make you welcome. Bedroom warm, welcoming, spotless, serviced daily Tv,hairdryer,fridge,tea/coffee making, comfotable bed with choice of bedding. Efficient ensuite shower etc.all in immaculate white (It seemed a shame to use them). Variety of freshly cooked breakfasts served with a smile. All this for a modest charge, thank you both, hope to see you again.

What a lovely B and B. Excellent balance of just the right things coupled with not being over burdened with rules and regulations. I felt very welcomed from the beginning of my stay to the end. My room was just right, enough facilities, gleaming bathroom and very comfy bed. Lots of choices for breakfast ( hearty!) and the little touches such as gluten free snack bars in my room for supper which I hadn't asked for but magically appeared. Plenty of milk and tea bags for cuppas in my room, there is nothing more annoying than having to eke out hot drink supplies. A lovely friendly couple and not forgetting gorgeous George the dog.
Tips:I stayed as I was on a painting course but other guests were given tips about interesting places to see and good pubs/ places to eat. I had the heads up about a gluten free pasty supplier. You can't go to Cornwall and not have a Cornish Pasty!

Julie & Justin, not forgetting George (so sweet!), have to be the most friendly B & B hosts ever. Nothing was too much trouble...daily weather forecast from Justin at breakfast time was much appreciated, even had a UV indicator! Julie's full English breakfasts were fab, always piping hot and very tasty! Would highly recommend.
Tips:Fab location, only a short walk to town which has a comprehensive range of eating places...something to suit everyone. Both Porthminster and Porthmeor beach cafes very good. Minack theatre at Porthcurno is something that should be on everyone's to-do list, absolutely stunning setting.

Just returned from a fantastic long weekend in St Ives for my birthday. From the moment we arrived, Justin, Julie and George gave us a very warm welcome. We stayed in Room 1, which was warm, comfortable and spotlessly clean. The breakfast choice was excellent and delicious too (the sausages were scrumptious!) - it was plainly evident that nothing was too much trouble as pretty much everyone ordered variations of the choices on the menu. This was our second stay at The Olive Branch and it has to be said (in our opinion) that Julie, Justin and George made our stay a much more enjoyable experience than the previous owners. We know now that we will always go back to stay at The Olive Branch because it was simply perfect. Coincidentally, Justin and I shared the same birthday and I was delighted to receive a birthday card from our hosts - a very nice touch I thought. Just book and experience great hospitality yourselves.
Tips:We had an excellent meal at The Firehouse,so we would highly recommend anyone to go there.

Julie and Justin deserved the recommendation we were given via a friend - our room was lovely, bed very good, breakfasts scrumptious with a thoughtfully wide range of choices. Homemade vegetarian sausages a happy choice even for meat-eaters! For one of us the uphill return from the centre of town was a slight challenge, but that wouldn't put us off coming back to the Olive Branch, just want to get a bit fitter!
Tips:Every restaurant we tried was good - town is packed out with a huge variety of places to eat. Good walks in either direction along the coast, both short and longer, and the harbour is beautiful

We are so glad we stayed here and would recommend the Olive Branch to anyone.
Tips:I wish I could have stayed longer in Cornwall because there is so much to see and do. We enjoyed St. Ives, Lands End, Lizard, Mousehole, St Michael's Mount, Trengwainton Gardens, and most of all the Minack Theater. There's a lot of variety and each place is as special and scenic as the next.

A friendly, welcoming couple who made us feel relaxed and at home. Comfortable beds, though ours where a bit narrow. Breakfasts most enjoyable with lovely bacon. I can not fault you, well done and good luck for your future.
Tips:If going into St Ives for the day take a taxi. All day parking is £6 a Taxi costs £4.50 A return journey is £9 This is only £3 more than all day parking and is little to pay for a stress free trip to town with possibly no parking spaces left. There are plenty of eating houses.

Excellent service and very friendly as always. Hard to find any negatives, but extract fan didn't work in ensuite, lights were a bit dodgy and shower kept spinning round on shower rail!
Tips:Minack theatre, St Michaels Mount, Sennen Beach, Poldark Mine, Geevor Mine all worth a visit. Good restaurants: Alba, The Bean, Porthminster beach cafe. Avoid Blas Burger works. We booked a table and when we arrived they said come back in 15 mins. We came back and they then proceeded to give our table away to someone else! 29th May 2015:
Lovely stay in The Olive Branch thanks to Julie, Justin and George, thr dog. We felt very welcome and got very good advises where to go and what to do. We definetely will come back. Next time we will try to get a bit bigger room. Room 4 was the only room available. If weather would not have been that good the room would have been too small. But we were lucky and have been all time outside and discovered parts of Cornwall.
Tips:Things to do, to see: Minack theatre, lovely open air theatre with perfect view on the sea Porthleven, small harbour village with good possibilities for walks (beach, The loe) The Beach Restaurant serving fresh fish but also good meet, reservation recommended, view on the sea Seafood Cafe chosing fish or meat directly from the counter, very good quality, booking in advance is recommended Pubs: The Sloop Inn (serving also food, haven't tasted),The Lifeboat Inn (food also not tasted)

Place is immaculate. Breakfast was delicious...although I would like some black pudding ! Owners very friendly and helpful.George the Tibetan Terrier laid back, friendly and funny. Would absolutely stay again and recommend to others.
Tips:Porthminster Beach Cafe...not cheap but worth it for a special meal. Seafood Cafe on Fore St great. Hepworth museum...small but perfectly formed and garden so tranquil if not full of people.Legs, lungs and shoes important as St Ives has lots of hills once off the front.

4th May 2015:
Warm welcome on arrival, Julie met us and took our bags from taxi to our room, asked what refreshments we would like and served us tea and biscuits whilst she settled us in. Julie and Justin, plus George of course are the perfect hosts. Room clean and comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order and there was a good selection to choose from.
Tips:Would reccomended a taxi if arriving by train, its a bit of a climb up the hill with baggage. Check which floor your room is on if you have a problem with stairs. For good pub food we liked the LIfeboat Inn, good views out over the harbour. The Sea Food Cafe was another one we liked although booking is reccomended.

Fantastic. Very welcoming and helpful, without being overbearing. A very good place to stay, will be recommending to family and friends
Tips:Local restaurants are pretty good, beaches are top notch and the local area is stunning. The Minack theatre is worth a visit, and The Sloop is a great pub to relax in. If you like South Cornwall St Ives is a great base from which to explore, but there's enough in town to keep you busy. The seafood is pretty good in all the restaurants we visited, but book ahead in most places if you want a decent table.

21st April 2015:
The owners Justin and Julie were so friendly and helpful they made our stay with them very relaxing. The breakfasts were superb. The room was clean and comfortable. There was nothing whatsoever that we could find fault with. A really nice B&B.
Tips:Plenty of places to eat about a five minute walk away but uphill to get back to B&B. We visited the Geevor tin and copper mine which was very interesting. Also walked from St Ives to Carbis Bay by way of the coast path and caught the train back. A nice little trip.

21st March 2015:
We had two wonderful days in St Ives and cannot recommend highly enough The Olive Branch. Justin, Julie and George their adorable dog were great hosts. Such a clean and bright room (room 3 with sea views is where we stayed). They were so helpful and very friendly - home from home. Breakfast was fabulous and the room was cleaned daily to an extremely high standard. The location was perfect too - everything we needed within walking distance. We were able to park right outside the front door and leave the car there for the duration. 10 out of 10! Thank You! We'll definitely return.

27th January 2015:
Me and my partner stayed here between 21st and 25th of January 2015. We received a very warm, friendly welcome on arrival from Justin, Julie and of course George (the dog). We received loads of great advice about places to eat, directions around town, walks, attractions and drives etc. Me and my partner stayed in room 3 which has a great sea view from the bay windows, a massive TV, a settee, 2 chairs in the main bay window for looking at the view, really comfortable bed, pristine clean on-suite with heated mirror. The full breakfasts were great. The location was perfect as long as you don't mind a few inclines (but the whole of St Ives is like that anyway). It was only a couple of minutes walk to the main centre and 15 minutes to the furthest point of town. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to St Ives in the future.
Tips:Restaurants/Cafes: Sea Food Cafe, Alba Restaurant, Harbour Fish & Chips, Firehouse. Pubs: Sloop Inn Things to Do: Coastal path walk from St Ives to Zennor, Coastal path walk from Sennen Cove to Land's End, Seal Sancuary (45 min drive).
