15th September 2024:
Mark and Fenella were perfect hosts. Right up our street so to speak. Nice and casual approach and very helpful tips for spending our days and restaurant recommendations. Trip coincided with a special wedding anniversary and we returned that day to a bottle of Bubbly and daily 2 slices of chocolate cake.
Tips:Train ride into St.Ives (5 minutes) is a must. Don’t use car if going that way. Eden Project was a good outing. St.Michael’s Mount is a must do and as recommended to us by hosts go to Sennen Cove and walk the coast path to Landsend and back. From there head to Minack Theatre and Porthcurno Beach. Amazing. Many, many other options.

Mike and Fenella were just amazing hosts. What a beautiful home, we received a lovely warm welcome from both Mike and Fenella. We have been away from home for 10 nights travelling around and staying in hotels and b and b’s. Without doubt Headland House gets the Gold Star on every element, top marks! Highly recommend
Tips:Lovely Coastal walk into town Beautiful restaurant called Ardor on Fore Street Barbara Hepworth museum well worth a visit.

A lovely B and B with many extras carefully considered. Mark and Fenella have taken time to add those personal touches. Superb breakfast. Excellent location. Good views. One stop down on the train to St Ives (or 25/30 min coastal walk).
Tips:Book restaurants for the evening. The Beach Restaurant and The Porthminster both excellent.

26th August 2024:
This was the perfect bed and breakfast experience, and really surpassed all our expectations. The location was incredible, and our room and the whole inn’s facilities were beautifully appointed and so comfortable. The breakfast was delicious; we wish we could eat like that every day! Fenella and Mark were incredibly kind, welcoming, and gracious, going out of their way to make us feel right at home. We will definitely return here and have already told friends and family they must come visit the Headland House!
Tips:We loved taking a hike from the hotel to Porthkidney Beach at low tide to see the incredible expanse of beach, and then wading back to Carbis Bay. It was a very fun adventure!

We felt the B & B was better in appearance than the web showed it. We thoroughly enjoyed our 5 nights and would love to think we will visit again.
Tips:Endless restaurants & bars to visit. To name a few we visited La Casita just up the bank from the hotel and found the venue & food very good. All the Carbis Bay estate bars & eateries were excellent. St Ives also obviously has restaurants & bars galore. We had a lovely Tapas meal in Cintra Seafood Bar on St Ives Harbour. The train from Carbis Bay to St Ives is a great asset & runs all day until nearly 11pm.

Fabulous stay We had a delightful two-night stay here and loved everything. Amazing hosts, beautiful room with wonderful views over Carbis bay. We loved the extra touches in the room especially the home baked cakes. Breakfast was delicious and made to order and served in the conservatory. We enjoyed the location as the house sits just above Carbis Bay with easy access to the railway and all the local restaurants and lovely walks. We loved the area and will definitely chose Headland House again.

Tips:Good position to railway links for getting around. Some parts can be hilly, but beautiful views of St Ives. 3min rail trip to St Ives plenty of restuarants and bars, lovely beach in carbis bay also along the coast to St Ives

We had a lovely stay at headland house. Both Mark and Fenella were amazing, very welcoming and gave lots of useful advice. Mark's breakfasts including the vegetarian option are just to die for. The room was lovely and both Mark and Fenella added that personal touch that you would not get from a hotel.
Tips:Excellent location, local beaches and St Ives within walking distance. Within driving distance to lands end, Minnack theatre, Porthcurno beach etc.

20th August 2024:
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Headland House Bed and Breakfast. The location couldn’t get much better with views overlooking Carbis Bay, the Towans to the east and St Ives to the west. All of these destinations within walking distance or a short drive. Headland House provides parking which is helpful ,however, the parking does test your manoeuvre skills so be prepared to be tested. The variety offered with breakfast is the best I have seen compared to other bed and breakfasts and the friendliness of both Mark and Fenella made our stay even more special. Our Sennen room offered stunning vistas across the coast and was cosy, clean and comfortable (with free cake supplied every day). Mark and Fenella helped with useful recommendations for day trips/places to eat as well as providing a pack for our visit to the Minack Theatre. Important to also mention the resident cat who must have the best life of all cats in Cornwall. If you are looking for a place to stay and treat yourself in the south of Cornwall look no further than Headland House! We are excited for our next visit as we will definitely be returning.
Tips:The Old Forge (affordable great pizzas), The Ugly Butterfly (expensive dining but worth every penny for the food and location, One Fish Street (on the dear side but delicious tasting menu in St Ives) Places to visit: Godrevy Head and the Towans, Mousehole, Zennor Head walk and Zennor (have a pint in Tinners Arms), Porthleven, St Michael’s Mount, Minack Theatre

We had a wonderful four night stay. Thank you so much Fenella and Mark for making our holiday stay with you feel special. There were lots of extra touches that elevated the facilities to add comfort and make it memorable, - your welcome and engagement each day as well as the welcome drink! Such delicious and beautifully presented breakfasts, Mark is a wonderful cook. The afternoon cake! Plus’s fresh milk and cold water in our room. Thank you.
Tips:The Carbis bay train station to take you into St Ives is less than 5 minutes walk away ( or for the other direction and beyond) and the train journey to St Ives also takes less than 5 minutes. It’s worth looking up the GWR train time table in advance if you are looking to get to a particular place/ event and have time constraints.

A perfect stay from the minute we arrived. Thank you for a very warm welcome and for throughout our stay. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing stay. The rooms were very modern and kept to the highest standards. The Breakfast was also amazing
Tips:A great place to stay for easy access into St Ives via the train station just a few 100 yards away. It runs every half hour and takes you to just above Porthminster beach. Cost is £4 a return or £8 for a day ticket. It saves all the hassle of trying to park in St Ives!

8th August 2024:
To start with the location of Headland House is excellent, Carbis Bay Beach is a short walk down and it is a gorgeous beach. Our room, the Net was lovely, the walk in shower after a long day out was to die for. Mark & Fenella are the best of hosts, they made us feel very welcome and gave some us some great advice about getting around. We loved are stay and were sorry it wasn’t longer, my wife and I would definitely go back and stay with Mark & Fenella.
Tips:Suggest, walk to St Ives following the signposted costal path, it’s a great scenic walk, not arduous and not that long either, and then take the train back. It’s one stop from St Ives to Carbis and £1 for one way.

We had a wonderful stay with Mark and Fenella in St Ives. They are the consummate hosts who pay attention to the smallest of details. Their house is beautifully decorated and incredibly clean. Breakfast was delicious each morning.
Tips:The train stop is only 400 yards away and a 3 minute ride into St Ives. Parking in the town is very challenging whereas the train is easy. We also walked a couple of times - very pretty and took about 40 minutes. We ate at Porthmeor Beach Cafe and Porthminster Kitchen. Both were excellent. Would recommend making reservations in peak season

We had a wonderful stay, thank you! We felt very welcomed and made to feel at home from the get go. We were blown away with the view in the room, and loved the little touches (cold water in the fridge, mid afternoon cake etc) we loved the general decor/chilled ambience Tiny point for improvement - we had hung our towels on the rails to dry and came back and the wet towels had been folded up so were a bit damp to use in the evening - not a biggy but thought worth mentioning. The breakfast was delicious! We loved that we didn’t feel rushed (some places sort of clear up around you) but were really grateful for the time given to enjoy the food. The breakfast spread was also amazing! The Prosecco on arrival was very appreciated! Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

Just another perfect stay! Always a really warm welcome and Fenella and Mark very knowledgeable about the area and happy to advise. Lovely to be back and share this special spot with our (gown up) kids - who also loved it! Thank you and see you again for sure! Louise and Chris
Tips:Did St Michael’s Way walk and enjoyed it all - mostly well sign posted! Lovely ending up at St Michael’s Mount too. Old favourites like the Tate and Hepworth never disappoint and a dip in the sea in Carbis Bay at the end(or start!) of the day - with a dolphin in sight this time! - is just gorgeous!

Mark and Fenella run a beautiful B&B in Carbis Bay and we go every year if we can to stay with them. We have been so many times I have lost count. A stone’s throw from St Ives and walking distance from Carbis Bay beach, the location is perfect. The rooms are thoughtfully and tastefully decorated and well maintained with comfortable beds. Breakfasts are delicious! Mark & Fenella know how to look after people and make them feel welcome and they are the reason we keep going back to stay at Headland House.
Tips:Trains run regularly to St Ives from the local station. There is much to see and do and the better local restaurants need to be booked in advance. This year we went to the Porthminster Beach cafe which is always good. We also ate at the Porthmeor Beach cafe by the Tate in St Ives (also a must). The beach cafe at Porthgwidden is charming with good food and wonderful views. In fact all these restaurants have wonderful views of the pink horizons at night. On previous visits we visited the Leach pottery and Barbara Hepworth museum. Mostly we go to Cornwall for the sea air and its restorative and positive effect on our wellbeing. There is nothing else like it.

Great B&B in fantastic location. Beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. Hosts were wonderful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great and filled us up for days exploring and when we came back in afternoon a welcoming slice of cake greeted us.
Tips:Would highly recommend staying her a peaceful place for adults only. Leave the car behind and get the regular train into St Ives at the expensive cost of a £1 each way!!!! Perfect and also train to Penzance regularly also saves being stuck in traffic

Mark & Fenella are the ultimate hosts, nothing, and I do mean, nothing would not be accommodated I'm sure if requested. They went out of their way to make you feel really welcomed into what felt like their home. The room was just so perfect and I can't wait to stay again now we've found it. With their help and guidance we found some great places to eat and the best way to get to them.
Tips:You must try and eat at the Porthminster Beach cafe, don't be fooled by the name, they don everything from beach cafe type food by day, to very high end fish restaurant by evening but still keeping that friendly welcoming vibe, dogs also appeared welcome.

Another great stay at Headland House, it is such a lovely place and so close to the station to get the train to St Ives. Beautiful views over Carbis Bay. Great breakfast. The hotel is immaculate and full of character. Nice touch to have cream tea/cake left in the room daily. Mark and Fenella are great hosts and bring a lovely energy to the place. We have stayed a few times and will be back for sure.
Tips:Fenella gave a fantastic tip about going to the bar at The Ugly Butterfly for food. The fish and chips were stunning and the bar was beautiful with amazing views of Carbis Bay. Would recommend Porthminster beach cafe for dinner and Porthmeor beach cafe for tapas, this is our favourite beach full of surfers. Recommend Cornwall soapbox for candles and Longship Gallery for art and the wonderful Barbara Hepworth sculpture garden.

Tips:We had meals at the Porthminster Beach Cafe (OK) and the Ugly Butterfly (Great but expensive). You need to be a goat for walking up and down the hill to the beach. The £1 train ride from St Ives to the nearby Carbis Bay station was a life saver.

Unser Aufenthalt in diesem charmanten, schicken Bed and Breakfast war unvergesslich.

We stayed at Headland House for 2 nights while attending a wedding. Mark & Fenella made us feel very welcome. Room was gorgeous and bed very comfortable. Lots of choice for breakfast and very tasty. Lovely cream tea welcome in our room when we arrived and red velvet cake on our second day (we booked directly though them, not sure if this is available through a 3rd party booking). Would definitely recommend.
Tips:Carbis Bay station is only a 2min walk from Headland House, the train will take you into St Ives and takes a matter of minutes, easier (and quicker) than driving in and parking. Walking in to St Ives is also very easy as you are on the South West Coast Path.

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Our hosts offered lots of hints and tips about local restaurants and easy accessible walking routes to get to nearby St Ives. We received complimentary Prosecco on arrival and cakes in the afternoon. We were also provided with beach towels upon request. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The area is very quiet and lovely garden facilities to relax in the sun. Would definitely stay again.
Tips:Train station is a 5 minute walk away and costs £1 to get to St Ives, trains every 30 mins into the evening. Beach is a short stroll down the hill and has a blue flag award. A beautiful location. It takes 30 mins to stroll along the coast path into St Ives.

A very welcoming and relaxing B&B. Extremely comfortable bed, excellent bathroom facilities and a high quality, and generous, breakfast. Attention to detail evident throughout our stay and made to feel very much at home. Car parking was also a bonus and the B&B is ideally situated for walking, or the short train journey, to St. Ives. Thank you for making our trip that little bit more special with your exception hospitality. The little extras of cake in a morning and the bottle of rose were above and beyond what we expected. We received a fantastic welcome from Mark who was also able to provide extensive knowledge of the area with it been our first time in the area. We will definitely be booking to stay with you all again next year. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend.

Mark and Fenella immediately make you feel at home, in their attractively furnished hotel, with special touches such as a cream tea welcome, a glass of fizz and, in our case, a private tropical garden to sit and relax in. Heligan, our room, was cosy and well equipped, including a slipper bath and over shower, in the Ensuite. Generous suggestions for places to eat/visit, were given by both hosts, which were most appreciated. All in all, a fabulous stay… Thank you.
Tips:5 minute train ride to St Ives, even allows use of rail passes to reduce costs. Carbis Bay has a sandy beach and is a great place for swimming. Tasty fish and chips at Beck’s in Carbis Bay town centre. Fine dining in Carbis Bay, on the beach.

Tips:The hotel is 5 min walk down the hill to the train station for £1 each you can be in St Ives in no time as it’s only 1 stop away from Carbis bay, alternatively walk to the bottom of hill (quite steep so be prepared for walking back up) to the beautiful Carbis Bay beach where there are lovely restaurants, bars etc cannot recommend this bed and breakfast enough you will not be disappointed at all.

Tips:Restaurants we enjoyed Porthwidden Beach, The Cellar, Blas . It’s worth visiting the Minnack outside theatre overlooking the ocean and even better if there is a play on. Marazion and go over to St Michael’s Mount from there. And there is so much more to explore.

Falling asleep in the lounge chairs in the back yard overlooking the sea and surrounding by palm trees and lavender bushes, we marveled at the beauty of Cornwall. Mark and Fenella not only made a scrumptious breakfast each morning, but to top it off, Mark shared his single malt with me. We honestly felt like friends, only we were treated better than you'd treat your friends. I can't say enough good about this place and its people, and already dream of a return.
Tips:Get a massage at the Canbis Bay Hotel Spa. Make reservations early in your stay to eat at the Cellar Bistro in St. Ives. Visit the charming village of Mosehole and stop by the fish mongers in Newlyn. Walk (and swim) in the uncrowded but breathtakingly beautiful beach at Godrevy Point in Hale.

Dear Mark & Fenella, We totally enjoyed our stay in your excellent B&B. We especially appreciated your little fridge with chilled water and milk, the view from our room, your daily offerings of cake in our room, your advice on options getting to & from St. Ives & places to visit & dine there, and your very helpful assistance with choosing Carbis Bay train station to get off and especially with finding options when our train was delayed on departure day. We'll send our friends! All the best, Burt & Sandra
Tips:If coming by train, be sure to get off at Carbis Bay station rather than go all the way into St. Ives. Headland House is only 150 yards up the hill. Great food & drinks at the Rum Crab Shack. Don't forget: Cornwall is the birthplace of the pasty and they're wonderful here. If the weather is right, consider enjoying the beaches and hike the Southwest Coast Trail into St. Ives. Enjoy!

Mark and Fenella are very welcoming. The B&B is beautiful not to big not to small with lots of room choices. We stayed in the net loft as wanted our own entrance to come and go as we please. The room was nice and clean and serviced daily. We also had a lovely bath tub and a king bed. Lots of choices for breakfast you definitely will not go hungry. Overall a wonderful stay.
Tips:Definitely use the local train which is located at the bottom of the hill a 5 minute walk from Headland House. This takes you into St Ives in 3 minutes. Lots of beautiful walks mostly costal on your doorstep. If eating in St Ives, try the smaller restaurants but all get busy. We did the Rum Shack the food was average but good atmosphere, Lots of places to drink we found all were pretty good. The Mermaid has lovely food to but also gets busy so pre book. You must travel to St Michaels Mount it’s beautiful and we had afternoon tea at the Harbour Loft. The Minnack and Porthcurno beach again a must see along with Mousehole, Lands end, Godrevy lighthouse for the seals and Zennor the most beautiful scenic drive and The Tinner offers a great pub lunch.

This was our 3rd visit to Headland House which goes some way to demonstrating how highly we rate it! Fenella and Mark are the most welcoming of hosts and go out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need. They leave lovely treats in your room every day and as it was our anniversary - they gave us a lovely bottle of fizz. Delightful place in a beautiful setting away from the crowds at St Ives. Outstanding.
Tips:The Tate at St Ives is a must see - followed by lunch at the Porthmeor Beach Café (we booked in April to get a pod) you have to book everywhere at this time of year otherwise you will be waiting for ages. The Leach Pottery is charming and The Hepworth museum is fabulous. The beach at Carbis Bay is nicer than any others around with lunch available at the Carbis Bay Hotel which is now expensive since G7 was held there. Our best meal this year was at the Porthminster Beach Café - again you have to book. Lobsters straight out of the sea! Everything local is accessible by train which is a short walk from Headland House. We also visited Mousehole and Praa Sands.

Mark and Fenella were exemplary hosts, making us feel at ease from the moment we arrived until we checked out on our last day. We both agreed that this is the best B n B we’ve been to, and we can’t wait to come back.
Tips:St Michael’s Mount was a great highlight, easily reachable by train and bus in less than an hour - although steps and steep hill are quite challenging, especially in wet weather, so come prepared. Go up to the little chapel on the hill in St Ives for sunset (Mt Zion?) - if you time it just right, you will see the most stunning ocean view from the elevated position - as well as of the whole of St Ives.

If you are looking for a place to stay where you feel welcomed and special then Headland House B&B is the place to book. A beautifully and tastefully decorated house, a real home from home but better, with the most welcoming of hosts, Mark and Fenella, who could not have been more caring and helpful throughout our stay. Very interesting people to talk with who have a wealth of knowledge of the local area and places to visit and eat. We loved the delicious cake left in our room every afternoon, fresh milk and a wonderful treat for my birthday. I cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough and will definitely visit again. We had Room 3 (Cape Cornwall) which has a large bedroom with a wonderful bathroom and although it does not have a sea view, it really is a very special room. Lovely White Company toiletries too and plenty of hot drinks options from hot chocolate and marshmallows, fruit teas and Nespresso coffee pods all available with fresh milk and water in a silent fridge in the room. Breakfast is pre-ordered the night before and I can recommend the vegetarian option - I can’t remember the last time I had fried bread! My husband had the scrambled egg and smoked salmon all three days we stayed as he loved it so much. You certainly won’t be disappointed if you book Headland House for a holiday or a place to stay if working in the area.
Tips:Book directly with Mark and Fenella rather than through an agency to get free parking and a delicious cream tea on your arrival. The train station to St Ives is only a few minutes walk away and is an ideal way to travel at only £1 per person each way! We went on the seal island boat trip from St Ives and ate at Porthmeor Beach Cafe and Talay Thai Restaurant both which can be recommended.

Tips:Carbis bay beach is a short walk downhill. Very clean with good facilities. Take the train to St Ives, one stop, don’t try to park. It was buzzing. We were there when they had the artists weekend: book ahead for restaurants so you’re not disappointed.

Best Bed & Breakfast experience we've had, in reality more like a high end hotel but with a personalised service. Breakfasts were amazing and kept us full until evening with the cheeky cake in the afternoon also provided. We stayed in the net loft room, spacious, comfortable and plush. Mark and Fenella were lovely throughout and gave us excellent tips for visiting the area. Thank you again.
Tips:Try to book into Porthmeor Beach Cafe for a lovely meal on the sea. We also enjoyed the Bean Inn vegetarian restaurant 15 mins walk and a 5 min walk up the road la casita for Mexican tapas, pizza etc. The Barbara Hepworth museum was excellent well worth a visit, we really enjoyed the 30 mins walk into St Ives from the B&B and when we had walked enough the train station 5mins walk and 3 min journey for a £1.

This was our second stay this year at this superb bed and breakfast so you can guess what we think of it! What a find it has been. Fantastic location with jaw dropping views, the owners are so friendly and helpful, the rooms are very clean and we love those additional touches like having a mini fridge in the room and providing a scrumptious piece of cake in your room every afternoon. Breakfast is well worth looking forward to. So much choice and the quality and presentation is first class. Parking is provided which is one main thing I look at when booking a holiday. It takes the stress away knowing that when you’ve had a day out they’ll be a space available. Thank you to everyone at the Headland House Luxury Bed and Breakfast for making this latest stay so memorable. We love everything about it.
Tips:The bed and breakfast is superbly located for trips out to so many beautiful towns and locations. We recommend trips to Godrevy, St Michaels Mount, Lands End and Porthreath. They are all within a few miles of the bed and breakfast and we went by car. If you go to Lands End park at nearby Sennen Cove and walk along the coastal path to Lands End. You won’t be disappointed at anywhere you go to be honest. Of course St Ives is a must and we did this very short trip everyday by using the train. The station is a few hundred yards from the bed and breakfast. There is the coastal walk which we recommend and takes about 25 minutes. To be honest the breakfasts provided at the bed and breakfast were so nice and filling we didn’t need much for the rest of the day. However there are plenty of eating places in St Ives. We used the chippy next to the Life boat station on two occasions. Lovely Cornish sausage and chips! Watch out for the seagulls though as they will pounce when you least expect it!

The hosts go beyond what you would expect from a bed and breakfast / hotel. This establishment very comfortably sits within the luxury category of accommodation. The decor and finishes are first class. The hosts are very attentive, the breakfast is fantastic along with the service and the bedrooms are so comfortable you never want to leave. I can't fault this hotel.
Tips:You are spoilt for choice at St Ives. All establishments are high in standard. So do your homework and book in advance. I recommend LITTLE PALAIS.

Mark and Fennela were amazing hosts and could not do enough for you. The breakfast was excellent although you put your order in the night before nothing was a problem if you changed your mind, added or took off. Also would do any requests. Simply the best place we have stayed for a very long time! The walk down to the beach is a way but Mark helped us with a different route which was 100 times easier. Can’t recommend this little gem enough. We are rebooking!!!
Tips:Anything you want to know or do Mark and Fennela are extremely knowledgeable about local information, restaurants, trips, beaches and pubs. However I would recommend the breakfast, afternoon tea or dinner cruise at Falmouth. Which Mark knew of so he could fill you in with the info. We stayed for 8 nights and could of stayed longer at their little gem! ❤️❤️

Tips:The local beaches are paradise the restaurants in St Ives lovely but book online before you travel in peak season as you’ll struggle to get into the good ones . Carbis bay is a dream location with a stunning beach. The costal train to At Ives for £1 rtn is a life saver.

Excellent welcome brief. Fantastic breakfast choice and gf accommodated (advise in advance). Lovely room which had well thought through extras. Well located for both parking, train, short coastal walk, views.
Tips:Walk to St Ives only 40 mins and relatively easy under foot. A few slopes but nothing major and smooth under foot. Take torch at night as unlit. St Michael's Mont-brilliant but book in advance. Common sense, but book good restaurants in advance. Porthminster Kitchen and Cellar Bistro excellent. Porthleven worth a visit if dry to sit outside on the harbour.

We Had such a lovely stay at Headland House. It was even more beautiful than expected! The grounds were so beautiful kept, with a cute hammock and space to relax in the sunshine with views of the sea. We were welcomed by Fenella who couldn’t have been more helpful, prosecco on arrival and scones in the room ready and waiting. Our room was extremely spacious and clean. The location was great for us and just by carbis bay. I can’t recommend Headland house enough! ♥️

I had a wonderful stay at Headland House. Ideally located a few mins by train from St Ives, Headland House offers a home away from home. Fenella and Mark, the owners, are very personable and do everything to make your stay easy and cosy. The rooms are beautifully decorated, beds super comfy, and really clean. I particularly enjoyed the breakfasts - everything I had was delicious. While you could help yourself to cereals, I loved how you could pre-order cooked breakfast and local yoghurt the night before meaning much less waste. I also loved how you came back from a day out to cake in your room and proper milk in the fridge to make a cuppa.
Tips:There aren't many restaurants in Carbis Bay. I stayed local for dinners but many other guests popped into St Ives. Choices locally are few but very good - La Casita and the Gannet Inn are 5 mins away on foot, as is the Carbis Bay hotel with its restaurants, but book in advance in peak season.

We had a most fantastic three night stay at the superb Headland House Luxury B and B. Mark, Fenella and their staff were fantastic and the food was delicious. We stayed in the Porthminster de luxe ocean king room and wow what a view. The room had everything you needed including a mini fridge, which is so useful, to pieces of cake waiting for you when you arrived after a day out. It is faultless and even ‘Bear’ their lovely cat was most welcoming. We would definitely recommend staying here.
Tips:The B and B is ideally located for visits to a lot of beautiful places in Cornwall. We visited Lands End and Marazion which we highly suggest guests visit. There are plenty of lovely restaurants and take aways in St Ives. We suggest that although there is a very short train trip from Carbis Bay to St Ives that guests at least on one occasion walk the coastal path as the views are stunning.

Really well organised little hotel, with lovely staff in an amazing location (just yards from Carbis Bay beach and the railway station). The breakfast was very good and the portions were enough to keep us going most of the day, and there was always a new slice of cake in the room when we returned in the afternoon! We will definitely be visiting again!
Tips:Walking out from the hotel you can easily pick up the coastal path that takes you down into St. Ives and beyond, and the views from the path are amazing. It is very hilly though, so if you have mobility problems it may be best to take the train - the station is in the next street to the hotel and it takes just over 2mins and cost £1 each way to get to St. Ives. Carbis Bay beach is just at the bottom of the hill from the hotel, is very quiet with calm waters, but has no RNLI lifeguard. Porthminster beach is a little bit further north, just on the edge of St. Ives and has body board, kayak and paddle board hire, RNLI lifeguards on duty, a beach shop and a BBQ... it's great and can either be reached on foot along the coastal path or on the train. We never used the car in our 3 full days there, finding lots to do just on that piece of shoreline, but it isn't far by car to Hayle beach, St. Michaels Mount or any of the other Cornwall attractions.

Mark and Fenella, you couldn’t ask for nicer hosts! Attentive, friendly, knowledgeable and just go above and beyond. It was the little touches that made it special like the Prosecco cream tea on arrival is a lovely touch and cake in your room every day - wonderful ! The view from our room was stunning, overlooking St Ives bay. Room was clean with all facilities you need. Breakfast was amazing with a really good choice of both hot and cold. Would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone.

Would advise this method of transport as St Ives is difficult to drive through and park. Lots of restaurants there and would advise that you book to eat as its very busy. Fenella, Mark and the team were so welcoming. The breakfast portions are fantastic, a great way to start the day and if there’s anything you need to know about the local area Fenella and Mark are so helpful and knowledgeable.
Tips:It’s great to walk the coastal path into St Ives if the weathers good. If you want to try paddle boarding the equipment and the instruction is better on the Carbis Bay beach rather than in the harbour. The last train back from St Ives to Carbis Bay is fairly early (10.30pm) if you have a late dinner but you can get a bus back later from the road at the top of the town. Watch out for the seagulls!!

Great location and our room was self contained. The staff were lovely and very friendly. Would definitely recommend The Headland House Luxury B&B.
Tips:The Carbis Bay Hotel 1894 restaurant was lovely but pricey. Paddle boarding just £10 each for 1 hour at Carbis beach. The train into St Ives is a minute or two walk away and takes just 3 minutes and costs £2 for a return ticket, great value but beware of the hill back up to the B&B, it’s a killer. Lots of eateries in St Ives. Book ahead of your trip if you can

This is the second year running we have stayed at Headland House and we’ve not been disappointed either time. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated, the owners are a very helpful nice couple and the breakfasts are gorgeous. It’s been a bit different this year with Covid but everyone still made our stay just as good, roll on next year
Tips:St Ives is a really nice town, if you’re going to drive there, best go early. Trains run every 30mins and there are also regular buses which is probably an easier way to get into the town. St Ives is well worth a visit if you like boat trips, nice food and art/quaint shops to wander round. St Michael’s Mount is worth a visit and not too far away, try to do the walk on the causeway though as it’s really good.

A lovely B&B.The accommodation is of a very high standard. There are little extras offered such as cake and sherry left for you in your room. Headland House is in a good location. The owners are most helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Tips:This B&B is near to a lovely beach. There is a train station a few minutes walk away with a frequent train service to St.Ives. The Tate Gallery in St.Ives and The Barbara Hepworth Museum are definitely worth a visit. The Porthminster Beach Cafe in St.Ives serves Cornish seafood and other delicious dishes and has lovely views across the beach.

We were really impressed with how headland house had been organised to deal with the Covid restrictions and felt very well looked after. Tips:We like Praa Sands which has a well priced car park and a long beach to get away from the crowds.

Tips:Everything! Lovely meals at Porthmeor Beach Cafe and also The Beach restaurant. But you must book, well in advance. I booked 4 weeks ahead. Due to limited space because of social distancing (which the restaurants do very well) it is very difficult to get a table, even just for a drink. Stunning view of Carbis from our 2nd floor room Mark & Fenella made us so welcome, and the staff were professional and friendly. The facilities including a well appointed outside terrace, a 'snug' with a well stocked honesty bar. a slice of cake each left in the room in the afternoon, all made our stay extremely enjoyable. We very rarely stay at bed and breakfast accommodation as we prefer hotels, but Headland house redefined 'bed and breakfast' for us! We will definitely stay again when we are in this area of Cornwall and would highly recommend Headland House to all.
Tips:The location is spot on as the walk down the hill to Carbis bay is only 5 minutes, as is the walk to the small train link that takes you straight in to St. Ives in less than 5 minutes as well. You can also take the small train in to Penzance, and pick up a local bus to Mousehole or Marazion, both stunning locations. The Ship Inn at Mousehole is a spotlessly clean pub,and the lunch is great

Tips:Porthmeor Cafe is a firm favourite and the surf school is great. Long walk into St Ives but scenery and views are breathtaking. Walking boots or good trainers essential for the walk.
