28th May 2024:

We stayed at Headland House for 2 nights while attending a wedding. Mark & Fenella made us feel very welcome. Room was gorgeous and bed very comfortable. Lots of choice for breakfast and very tasty. Lovely cream tea welcome in our room when we arrived and red velvet cake on our second day (we booked directly though them, not sure if this is available through a 3rd party booking). Would definitely recommend.

Tips:

Carbis Bay station is only a 2min walk from Headland House, the train will take you into St Ives and takes a matter of minutes, easier (and quicker) than driving in and parking. Walking in to St Ives is also very easy as you are on the South West Coast Path.

We were made to feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. Our hosts offered lots of hints and tips about local restaurants and easy accessible walking routes to get to nearby St Ives. We received complimentary Prosecco on arrival and cakes in the afternoon. We were also provided with beach towels upon request. Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts. The area is very quiet and lovely garden facilities to relax in the sun. Would definitely stay again.

Tips:

Train station is a 5 minute walk away and costs £1 to get to St Ives, trains every 30 mins into the evening. Beach is a short stroll down the hill and has a blue flag award. A beautiful location. It takes 30 mins to stroll along the coast path into St Ives.

Mark & Funella were delightful & engaging hosts. Nothing was too much trouble. Delicious breakfast. Accommodation was of a very high standard. We stayed in the Boathouse which was impressively roomy, the cakes or scones everyday particularly welcome and the room always well serviced.Excellent recommendations for sightseeing & dining out.

A very welcoming and relaxing B&B. Extremely comfortable bed, excellent bathroom facilities and a high quality, and generous, breakfast. Attention to detail evident throughout our stay and made to feel very much at home. Car parking was also a bonus and the B&B is ideally situated for walking, or the short train journey, to St. Ives. Highly recommended.

Wonderful B&B, lovely warm welcome and all the little touches such as the cake in the room every afternoon and the fridge in the room with fresh milk etc all add to a really brilliant experience. Breakfast is excellent too.

Tips:

The coastal path walk to St Ives is lovely and not too far. And if you're too tired to walk back after a day in St Ives there is the trainline at only £1 to take you back to Carbis Bay. It's a beautiful location and a stunning part of the world. Keep an eye out for seals playing in the sea as you walk to St Ives!

Thank you for making our trip that little bit more special with your exception hospitality. The little extras of cake in a morning and the bottle of rose were above and beyond what we expected. We received a fantastic welcome from Mark who was also able to provide extensive knowledge of the area with it been our first time in the area. We will definitely be booking to stay with you all again next year. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend.

Tips:

We spent a lot of time chilling and walking around the area but 2 restaurant I would recommend are the Firehouse and Pedn Olva.

Mark and Fenella immediately make you feel at home, in their attractively furnished hotel, with special touches such as a cream tea welcome, a glass of fizz and, in our case, a private tropical garden to sit and relax in. Heligan, our room, was cosy and well equipped, including a slipper bath and over shower, in the Ensuite. Generous suggestions for places to eat/visit, were given by both hosts, which were most appreciated. All in all, a fabulous stay… Thank you.

Tips:

5 minute train ride to St Ives, even allows use of rail passes to reduce costs. Carbis Bay has a sandy beach and is a great place for swimming. Tasty fish and chips at Beck’s in Carbis Bay town centre. Fine dining in Carbis Bay, on the beach.

Perfect absolutely perfect, such amazing hosts cannot do enough for you, rooms spacious clean and everything you will ever need, tea coffee, all provided fresh cake everyday, a fridge is located in the room with fresh milk and bottled water daily, breakfast also outstanding so many choices cooked fresh with lots of juices etc also provided.

Tips:

The hotel is 5 min walk down the hill to the train station for £1 each you can be in St Ives in no time as it’s only 1 stop away from Carbis bay, alternatively walk to the bottom of hill (quite steep so be prepared for walking back up) to the beautiful Carbis Bay beach where there are lovely restaurants, bars etc cannot recommend this bed and breakfast enough you will not be disappointed at all.

We have been to Headland House a number of times and each visit has always been wonderful . Fenella and Mark are perfect hosts of this beautifully appointed bed and breakfast hotel. The position is perfect especially if you enjoy coastal walks . You’ll enjoy the fabulous breakfast to start off the day. Just go there and I’m sure you’ll be as happy as we were . Jackie & Anthony

Tips:

Restaurants we enjoyed Porthwidden Beach, The Cellar, Blas . It’s worth visiting the Minnack outside theatre overlooking the ocean and even better if there is a play on. Marazion and go over to St Michael’s Mount from there. And there is so much more to explore.

Tips:

Cellar Bistro, Porthminster, and The Beach Cafe excellent for food. Beach Cafe is very good value for money.Harbour Fish and Chips excellent food.....Best mussels in St Ives (according to husband). Quick one stop train to St Ives or 30 minute coastal walk. (Torch required on way back at night). 1.8 miles with a couple little hills, but easy under foot. St Michael's Mount, Land's End, Kynance Cove, glass bottom boat trip (Nemo).

Falling asleep in the lounge chairs in the back yard overlooking the sea and surrounding by palm trees and lavender bushes, we marveled at the beauty of Cornwall. Mark and Fenella not only made a scrumptious breakfast each morning, but to top it off, Mark shared his single malt with me. We honestly felt like friends, only we were treated better than you'd treat your friends. I can't say enough good about this place and its people, and already dream of a return.

Tips:

Get a massage at the Canbis Bay Hotel Spa. Make reservations early in your stay to eat at the Cellar Bistro in St. Ives. Visit the charming village of Mosehole and stop by the fish mongers in Newlyn. Walk (and swim) in the uncrowded but breathtakingly beautiful beach at Godrevy Point in Hale.

Dear Mark & Fenella, We totally enjoyed our stay in your excellent B&B. We especially appreciated your little fridge with chilled water and milk, the view from our room, your daily offerings of cake in our room, your advice on options getting to & from St. Ives & places to visit & dine there, and your very helpful assistance with choosing Carbis Bay train station to get off and especially with finding options when our train was delayed on departure day. We'll send our friends! All the best, Burt & Sandra

Tips:

If coming by train, be sure to get off at Carbis Bay station rather than go all the way into St. Ives. Headland House is only 150 yards up the hill. Great food & drinks at the Rum Crab Shack. Don't forget: Cornwall is the birthplace of the pasty and they're wonderful here. If the weather is right, consider enjoying the beaches and hike the Southwest Coast Trail into St. Ives. Enjoy!

Tips:

After a few days camping in Torquay my partner and I decided to treat ourselves to a few days stay in Carbis. Thought we'd give Headland B&B a try, we weren't disappointed! From day one we were greeted with a superior service. Mark our host is a real gent. Nothing is too much trouble. Not that you'd need anything, Mark and Fenella have thought of everything they really have gone above and beyond what you expect. Goes without saying the location is stunning as was the view from our nicely appointed room. The breakfast is nothing less than *FANTASTIC* We'll definitely stay here again.

Mark and Fenella are very welcoming. The B&B is beautiful not to big not to small with lots of room choices. We stayed in the net loft as wanted our own entrance to come and go as we please. The room was nice and clean and serviced daily. We also had a lovely bath tub and a king bed. Lots of choices for breakfast you definitely will not go hungry. Overall a wonderful stay.

Tips:

Definitely use the local train which is located at the bottom of the hill a 5 minute walk from Headland House. This takes you into St Ives in 3 minutes. Lots of beautiful walks mostly costal on your doorstep. If eating in St Ives, try the smaller restaurants but all get busy. We did the Rum Shack the food was average but good atmosphere, Lots of places to drink we found all were pretty good. The Mermaid has lovely food to but also gets busy so pre book. You must travel to St Michaels Mount it’s beautiful and we had afternoon tea at the Harbour Loft. The Minnack and Porthcurno beach again a must see along with Mousehole, Lands end, Godrevy lighthouse for the seals and Zennor the most beautiful scenic drive and The Tinner offers a great pub lunch.

This was our 3rd visit to Headland House which goes some way to demonstrating how highly we rate it! Fenella and Mark are the most welcoming of hosts and go out of their way to make sure that you have everything you need. They leave lovely treats in your room every day and as it was our anniversary - they gave us a lovely bottle of fizz. Delightful place in a beautiful setting away from the crowds at St Ives. Outstanding.

Tips:

The Tate at St Ives is a must see - followed by lunch at the Porthmeor Beach Café (we booked in April to get a pod) you have to book everywhere at this time of year otherwise you will be waiting for ages. The Leach Pottery is charming and The Hepworth museum is fabulous. The beach at Carbis Bay is nicer than any others around with lunch available at the Carbis Bay Hotel which is now expensive since G7 was held there. Our best meal this year was at the Porthminster Beach Café - again you have to book. Lobsters straight out of the sea! Everything local is accessible by train which is a short walk from Headland House. We also visited Mousehole and Praa Sands.

Mark and Fenella were exemplary hosts, making us feel at ease from the moment we arrived until we checked out on our last day. The room was beautiful: elegantly designed, spotless, and the bed was so comfortable. Breakfast was delicious - there was a generous selection and everything was cooked perfectly. We both agreed that this is the best B n B we’ve been to, and we can’t wait to come back.

Tips:

St Michael’s Mount was a great highlight, easily reachable by train and bus in less than an hour - although steps and steep hill are quite challenging, especially in wet weather, so come prepared. Go up to the little chapel on the hill in St Ives for sunset (Mt Zion?) - if you time it just right, you will see the most stunning ocean view from the elevated position - as well as of the whole of St Ives.

16th June 2023:

If you are looking for a place to stay where you feel welcomed and special then Headland House B&B is the place to book. A beautifully and tastefully decorated house, a real home from home but better, with the most welcoming of hosts, Mark and Fenella, who could not have been more caring and helpful throughout our stay. Very interesting people to talk with who have a wealth of knowledge of the local area and places to visit and eat. We loved the delicious cake left in our room every afternoon, fresh milk and a wonderful treat for my birthday. I cannot recommend this accommodation highly enough and will definitely visit again. We had Room 3 (Cape Cornwall) which has a large bedroom with a wonderful bathroom and although it does not have a sea view, it really is a very special room. Lovely White Company toiletries too and plenty of hot drinks options from hot chocolate and marshmallows, fruit teas and Nespresso coffee pods all available with fresh milk and water in a silent fridge in the room. Breakfast is pre-ordered the night before and I can recommend the vegetarian option - I can’t remember the last time I had fried bread! My husband had the scrambled egg and smoked salmon all three days we stayed as he loved it so much. You certainly won’t be disappointed if you book Headland House for a holiday or a place to stay if working in the area.

Tips:

Book directly with Mark and Fenella rather than through an agency to get free parking and a delicious cream tea on your arrival. The train station to St Ives is only a few minutes walk away and is an ideal way to travel at only £1 per person each way! We went on the seal island boat trip from St Ives and ate at Porthmeor Beach Cafe and Talay Thai Restaurant both which can be recommended.

We stayed at Headland House for our Honeymoon and it was idyllic. The room and house are very stylish and had such a homely feel. Mark and Fenella went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed, like making sure we had cushions for a show at the Minack Theatre (much recommended). The breakfast is incredible, you will not go hungry, and the cake is a lovely touch. We will remember our trip forever, thank you for making it special :-)

Tips:

The Bean Inn - excellent Vegetarian restaurant nearby. Minack Theatre is jawdropping, book a show in advance though. Surfing lesson in St Ives was loads of fun!

Harbour House is in a great location close to the coastal path and the train and bus routes. The Cape Cornwall room in which we stayed is large and very comfortable. Breakfast is very good with a number of nice choices. Our hosts are very accommodating and friendly and happy to provide suggestions of places to go or eat. All in all a very enjoyable stay. Highly recommended.

Tips:

The coastal walk between Carbis Bay and St Ives is lovely with great views as is the coastal path from the other side is St Ives from Porthmeor Beach. Porthmeor Beach Cafe, which was recommended by our hosts, has very good food and very accommodating staff with fabulous views to sea.

We were staying for a wedding locally so the location was perfect for Carbis bay, but also for St Ives, Just one stop on the train. We were given a warm welcome. Breakfast was exceptional, nice touches like smoothies made it top notch.

Tips:

Carbis bay beach is a short walk downhill. Very clean with good facilities. Take the train to St Ives, one stop, don’t try to park. It was buzzing. We were there when they had the artists weekend: book ahead for restaurants so you’re not disappointed.

Best Bed & Breakfast experience we've had, in reality more like a high end hotel but with a personalised service. Breakfasts were amazing and kept us full until evening with the cheeky cake in the afternoon also provided. We stayed in the net loft room, spacious, comfortable and plush. Mark and Fenella were lovely throughout and gave us excellent tips for visiting the area. Thank you again.

Tips:

Try to book into Porthmeor Beach Cafe for a lovely meal on the sea. We also enjoyed the Bean Inn vegetarian restaurant 15 mins walk and a 5 min walk up the road la casita for Mexican tapas, pizza etc. The Barbara Hepworth museum was excellent well worth a visit, we really enjoyed the 30 mins walk into St Ives from the B&B and when we had walked enough the train station 5mins walk and 3 min journey for a £1.

This was our second stay this year at this superb bed and breakfast so you can guess what we think of it! What a find it has been. Fantastic location with jaw dropping views, the owners are so friendly and helpful, the rooms are very clean and we love those additional touches like having a mini fridge in the room and providing a scrumptious piece of cake in your room every afternoon. Breakfast is well worth looking forward to. So much choice and the quality and presentation is first class. Parking is provided which is one main thing I look at when booking a holiday. It takes the stress away knowing that when you’ve had a day out they’ll be a space available. Thank you to everyone at the Headland House Luxury Bed and Breakfast for making this latest stay so memorable. We love everything about it.

Tips:

The bed and breakfast is superbly located for trips out to so many beautiful towns and locations. We recommend trips to Godrevy, St Michaels Mount, Lands End and Porthreath. They are all within a few miles of the bed and breakfast and we went by car. If you go to Lands End park at nearby Sennen Cove and walk along the coastal path to Lands End. You won’t be disappointed at anywhere you go to be honest. Of course St Ives is a must and we did this very short trip everyday by using the train. The station is a few hundred yards from the bed and breakfast. There is the coastal walk which we recommend and takes about 25 minutes. To be honest the breakfasts provided at the bed and breakfast were so nice and filling we didn’t need much for the rest of the day. However there are plenty of eating places in St Ives. We used the chippy next to the Life boat station on two occasions. Lovely Cornish sausage and chips! Watch out for the seagulls though as they will pounce when you least expect it!

The hosts go beyond what you would expect from a bed and breakfast / hotel. This establishment very comfortably sits within the luxury category of accommodation. The decor and finishes are first class. The hosts are very attentive, the breakfast is fantastic along with the service and the bedrooms are so comfortable you never want to leave. I can't fault this hotel.

Mark and Fennela were amazing hosts and could not do enough for you. The breakfast was excellent although you put your order in the night before nothing was a problem if you changed your mind, added or took off. Also would do any requests. Simply the best place we have stayed for a very long time! The walk down to the beach is a way but Mark helped us with a different route which was 100 times easier. Can’t recommend this little gem enough. We are rebooking!!!

Tips:

Anything you want to know or do Mark and Fennela are extremely knowledgeable about local information, restaurants, trips, beaches and pubs. However I would recommend the breakfast, afternoon tea or dinner cruise at Falmouth. Which Mark knew of so he could fill you in with the info. We stayed for 8 nights and could of stayed longer at their little gem! ❤️❤️

I had a wonderful stay at Headland House. Ideally located a few mins by train from St Ives, Headland House offers a home away from home. Fenella and Mark, the owners, are very personable and do everything to make your stay easy and cosy. The rooms are beautifully decorated, beds super comfy, and really clean. I particularly enjoyed the breakfasts - everything I had was delicious. While you could help yourself to cereals, I loved how you could pre-order cooked breakfast and local yoghurt the night before meaning much less waste. I also loved how you came back from a day out to cake in your room and proper milk in the fridge to make a cuppa.

Tips:

There aren't many restaurants in Carbis Bay. I stayed local for dinners but many other guests popped into St Ives. Choices locally are few but very good - La Casita and the Gannet Inn are 5 mins away on foot, as is the Carbis Bay hotel with its restaurants, but book in advance in peak season.

St. Ives with all restaurants and galleries! Close to the coastal trials. Will recommend the 12 km trial from St.Ives to Zennor! An excellent trail for 4 hours, ending by a pub with a very pleasant lunch.

A beautiful place to stay. We loved having the sea view, very comfortable bed and breakfast was superb! Nothing was too much trouble and Mark & Fenella were really helpful with tips on places to visit and eat. So many little touches like the afternoon cake, fresh milk and cold water in the fridge were much appreciated. We had a great time!

Tips:

So many great things! The Carbis Bay branch line station, just a couple of minutes walk away, to get to St Ives was brilliant. La Casita restaurant, just a short walk away had lovely tapas and friendly staff. The Source Kitchen in St Ives was a dining experience and a real foodie treat. The Curry Garden in St Ives serves great Indian food. Doesn't serve alcohol but you can take your own! Minack theatre well worth a visit even if you are not seeing a performance. Penlee House Gallery in Penzance - amazing collection of classic 'Newlyn School' paintings by Walter Langley.

We had a most fantastic three night stay at the superb Headland House Luxury B and B. Mark, Fenella and their staff were fantastic and the food was delicious. We stayed in the Porthminster de luxe ocean king room and wow what a view. The room had everything you needed including a mini fridge, which is so useful, to pieces of cake waiting for you when you arrived after a day out. It is faultless and even ‘Bear’ their lovely cat was most welcoming. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Tips:

The B and B is ideally located for visits to a lot of beautiful places in Cornwall. We visited Lands End and Marazion which we highly suggest guests visit. There are plenty of lovely restaurants and take aways in St Ives. We suggest that although there is a very short train trip from Carbis Bay to St Ives that guests at least on one occasion walk the coastal path as the views are stunning.

Really well organised little hotel, with lovely staff in an amazing location (just yards from Carbis Bay beach and the railway station). The breakfast was very good and the portions were enough to keep us going most of the day, and there was always a new slice of cake in the room when we returned in the afternoon! We will definitely be visiting again!

Tips:

Walking out from the hotel you can easily pick up the coastal path that takes you down into St. Ives and beyond, and the views from the path are amazing. It is very hilly though, so if you have mobility problems it may be best to take the train - the station is in the next street to the hotel and it takes just over 2mins and cost £1 each way to get to St. Ives. Carbis Bay beach is just at the bottom of the hill from the hotel, is very quiet with calm waters, but has no RNLI lifeguard. Porthminster beach is a little bit further north, just on the edge of St. Ives and has body board, kayak and paddle board hire, RNLI lifeguards on duty, a beach shop and a BBQ... it's great and can either be reached on foot along the coastal path or on the train. We never used the car in our 3 full days there, finding lots to do just on that piece of shoreline, but it isn't far by car to Hayle beach, St. Michaels Mount or any of the other Cornwall attractions.

There aren’t many restaurants locally so bear this in mind as you will need to book or drive. Train is useful to get around locally. .

We had an absolutely stunning time at the B&B, it was beautiful and exactly what we needed to relax. The sea room had the most amazing view and the service was fab. Breakfast was great too.

Tips:

la casita was lovely, a tapas bar right next to the B&B. However definitely recommend venturing into st ives - we had great meals at Cellar Bistro and Porthminster kitchen (make sure to book!). The Carbis bay hotel on the seafront was also great for drinks.

Fantastic place to stay located in the amazing Carbis Bay. Room was lovely and we had a sea view. Breakfast was wonderful. Such a friendly place, the team were so helpful. We absolutely loved it here and would definately come back.

Tips:

Just a few minutes walk to the train station where you can be in St Ives in a couple of minutes for £2 return. Would advise this method of transport as St Ives is difficult to drive through and park. Lots of restaurants there and would advise that you book to eat as its very busy. Recommend The Hub as great food at good prices. You can walk down to the beautiful Carbis Bay a few minutes from Headland House.

Fenella, Mark and the team were so welcoming. As soon as we arrived we were treated to amazing service (Prosecco) and even while working under Covid limitations they made sure everything was perfect for us. The breakfast portions are fantastic, a great way to start the day and if there’s anything you need to know about the local area Fenella and Mark are so helpful and knowledgeable.

Tips:

It’s great to walk the coastal path into St Ives if the weathers good. If you want to try paddle boarding the equipment and the instruction is better on the Carbis Bay beach rather than in the harbour. The last train back from St Ives to Carbis Bay is fairly early (10.30pm) if you have a late dinner but you can get a bus back later from the road at the top of the town. Watch out for the seagulls!!

We had a wonderful stay at Headland House and would highly recommend it to family and friends. The hotel has a really homely feel and we were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived and throughout our stay. We had fresh cakes/treats in our room each afternoon which was a lovely touch, and were given a super long list of local recommendations which is so handy! We can't wait to come back again soon :)

Tips:

We had a night in at the hotel one evening, and arranged for a picnic box to be delivered. We sat on the terrace at the hotel and enjoyed the sunset. The team at the hotel recommended the picnic box company and also provided cutlery, crockery and a bottle opener for our wine!

We liked Porthmeor Beach and enjoyed some lovely tapas at Porthmeor Cafe (luckily we booked ahead to get a table, which we highly recommend). The sunset here was beautiful. We also took to a trip to Kyance Cove which was about 40 minutes away and absolutely amazing. There were lots of lovely little restaurants and shops in St Ives as well as beaches to enjoy. We had a lovely two night stay at Headland House. The room was lovely over looking the beach. Great location for exploring St Ives. Mark and Fennalla were so welcoming, and would definitely stay again if we came back to St Ives. 5 stars

Tips:

Book restaurants in advance or you have to queue to eat ! Go on a boat trip to Seal Island, you don’t have to pre book these as they are all along St Ives Hsrbour. St Michaels Mount is a 10 minute drive and £4 to park.

A very enjoyable stay despite the COVID restrictions. The safeguards at the hotel were all in place, they were very well managed and did not detract from our stay. A warm welcome when we arrived, excellent breakfasts every morning and the room was spotlessly clean.

We were really impressed with how headland house had been organised to deal with the Covid restrictions and felt very well looked after. Mike and Arabella were always happy to make suggestions about places to eat all day trips and the location is the perfect setting - just above Carbis Bay which is a fabulous beach.

We like Praa Sands which has a well priced car park and a long beach to get away from the crowds.

Our visit coincided with the Covid 19 pandemic but despite this we were made to feel welcome and every effort was made to make things feel as normal as possible. Our room ‘Cape Cornwall’ was wonderfully light and spacious. The complimentary daily cakes/pastries and sherry are a lovely touch and breakfast was excellent with a great choice of options. Mark and Fenella are wonderful hosts and very knowledgeable of the local area. We’re already looking into when we can return!

Stunning view of Carbis from our 2nd floor room Mark & Fenella made us so welcome, and the staff were professional and friendly. The facilities including a well appointed outside terrace, a 'snug' with a well stocked honesty bar. a slice of cake each left in the room in the afternoon, all made our stay extremely enjoyable. We very rarely stay at bed and breakfast accommodation as we prefer hotels, but Headland house redefined 'bed and breakfast' for us! We will definitely stay again when we are in this area of Cornwall and would highly recommend Headland House to all.

Tips:

The location is spot on as the walk down the hill to Carbis bay is only 5 minutes, as is the walk to the small train link that takes you straight in to St. Ives in less than 5 minutes as well. You can also take the small train in to Penzance, and pick up a local bus to Mousehole or Marazion, both stunning locations. The Ship Inn at Mousehole is a spotlessly clean pub,and the lunch is great

Tips:

Porthmeor Cafe is a firm favourite and the surf school is great. Long walk into St Ives but scenery and views are breathtaking. Walking boots or good trainers essential for the walk. We’ve stayed in St Ives a few times but it’s much noisier than Carbis Bay. Return quietly by train. Ultra top: All restaurants recommended by Mark: The Porthmeor Beach Cafe for its tapas, its views and the friendliness of its service, and also the Porthminster Cafe that we really loved from the meal to the view from our table and the sympathy of the service If you do not book, it was our case, be careful, go early to have a chance to have the last table (18: 30-19: 00). Mark and Fenella are perfect hosts. They truly understand how important your stay with them is to you and are determined to do everything possible to ensure that you have a wonderful time. If you are new to St Ives they are always willing to spend time offering advice on places to visit or to eat if you ask. Headland House is clean, comfortable and offers everything you need for a perfect holiday. Little touches like the honesty bar, silent fridge in your room and patio seating area raise Headland House to a different class.

Tips:

The better places to eat in St Ives are always very busy during the main holiday season. Do make a reservation if you possibly can.

Our stay at Headland House was absolutely wonderful. While we expected the beautiful room and lovely accommodation, the friendly reception and consistent care we received from our hosts exceeded all our expectations! Mark and his family introduced us to the region, and ensured our stay was as good as it could be, even going above and beyond to help us return a forgotten phone to London!

Tips:

We definitely recommend the hike from Carbin bay to Zennor (through St Ives and along the coast), but make sure to bring water and good walking shoes. Don't forget to visit the Minack theatre, but make sure there's a good play on!

Welcoming hosts who were efficient, friendly and informative. I would certainly recommend this B&B to all friends and family. This is a lovely old house which has kept all it's charms. Beautiful architecture, lovely original features, light and airy rooms which were decorated to reflect the period of the house. Our room had wonderful views of Carbis Bay, over to St Ives. Our room was very comfortable, wi-fi,TV, tea/coffee/hot chocolate/fresh milk/ice cold water/and even afternoon Cake! Excellent en-suite facilities. The choice at breakfast was comprehensive, and offered a wonderful selection of cereals, juices, fresh fruit, jams, croissants, freshly cooked items - i.e. combinations of smoked salmon - avocado - poached eggs. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Tips:

Headland House is very fortunate in it's position, as access into St Ives is so easy. A five minute walk down the hill takes you to the railway station which has a regular shuttle service to and from St Ives, roughly 5-10 minutes. This service costs £2 return. There is a footpath from the same area which is a very pleasant walk of around 45mins. Our hosts supplied us with a local map, and marked places of interest, which proved very useful for searching out the Tate and other galleries in the town, as well as Restaurants, coffee shops, and other local amenities.

Mark and Fenella made you feel so very welcome in their stylish home. Wonderful breakfast and especially liked the cake in the room in the afternoon! Definately a Luxury Bed and Breakfast.

Tips:

The Restaurant in Carbis Bay on the beach is very nice and if the weather is warm you can sit outside and take in the beautiful bay. If you want to travel into St. Ives the train is very convenient 1 stop from Carbis Bay or alternatively if the weather is good walk the coastal path into St. Ives which has wonderful views. Everything was spotless and owners & staff were all very friendly. You can see they have spent a lot of time and effort to make the place an excellent base for anybody visiting the area. It has the feel of a larger boutique hotel, but with the friendliness of a B&B. Breakfast was as good as it gets. The only negative was the noise from the guests walking around in the room above ours (We stayed in the Boat House).

Tips:

This is an ideal B&B for visiting the area. The Railway station is a couple of hundred yards away with the journey to St Ives taking about 5 mins or if you prefer, you can walk it in less than half an hour. The Barbra Hepworth museum is well worth a visit.

It's also very easy to get into St Ives, or out and about to explore this part of Cornwall. Loved every minute of our stay. There was nothing to find fault with. The room was fantastic, breakfast was wonderful and to relax and enjoy it with a sea view was the perfect start to the day! We felt genuinely welcome at Headland House. This was a special treat to celebrate myself and my best friend turning 40 and we couldn't have spent it anywhere better.

Tips:

La Casita, the tapas restaurant, is just a couple of minutes walk from Headland House. It was so good we ate here twice during our stay! Booking is essential though, as they get very busy. The Boat House, the superior room we stayed in, is the ultimate in luxury. We paid a little more for this but were so glad we did. Headland House is in Carbis Bay, just 1 stop along on the train line to St Ives. It's only £2 return for the train and well worth it. No need to worry about parking in St Ives! The trains are really regular, however check the timetable carefully as not all stop at Carbis Bay.

Having stayed here about 2 years ago we decided to extend our stay in St Ives this year with a final night in Headland House after disappointing accomodation elsewhere. Mark and Fanella were super helpful as it was such a last minute booking and made us feel very welcome. A fab location, gorgeous room and delicious breakfast ended our holiday on a high. Will be back soon!

This establishment is superb, run by wonderful, kind and welcoming owners. They are friendly, helpful and always ready to help. Beautiful house, great views and cleanliness above and beyond. Comfortable beds, excellent breakfast. Cannot fault Headland House at all. Thank you.

Tips:

Best meal we had was at Porthmeor Beach café. Porthminster Café has a superb location and takes advantage of this in its rather high prices. Lovely little café just opposite the Harbour Beach, Sat outside watching the world go by drinking prosecco and eating lovely snacky bits and pieces.

This is a gem of a place tucked away in Carbis Bay 5 minutes drive from St Ives. Hosts Mark and Fenella know how to look after their guests and go out of their way to ensure that your stay is the best it can be. Breakfasts are cooked with care and the rooms are fresh and clean (I arrived a day early and was in a different room to the one we booked for the weekend) we will be going back for sure.

Tips:

We are at La Cassita a few minutes walk from the hotel which was lovely - Spanish restaurant with good food. We also went to the Porthminster Kitchen in St Ives and The Alba - both excellent. The revamped Tate in St Ives is a must as is the Barbara Hepworth Museum and the Leach Pottery.

We really liked that the BnB is based in Carbis Bay as theres a lovely coastal walk/train into St Ives which we really enjoyed - and kept us active! We had an sea view room that was fantastic for the beautiful sunsets and a very and comfortable bed. Lovely owners and staff.

This is a great Luxury B&B, the service was warm, friendly and very helpful. The B&B is beautifully done and feels very luxurious but homely. Nothing was too much trouble for Fenella or Mark. I was there for a long weekend for a wedding and having seen other guest rooms in some of the areas luxury hotels, I would say that Headland house, gives them a great run for their money. I would definitely go back.

Helpful warm welcome from both owners. Excellent room and facilities and a very good breakfast, especially the ‘breakfast special’ Highly recommended- we would sty again.

Tips:

Alba restaurant overpriced and of a lesser standard than other places we’ve eaten in. Tapas at the beach rrsraurant was excellent. Avoid half term if possible!
