4th November 2023:

Adrian and his brother made us very welcome. The Green Apple is a perfect place to stay. Just a short bus ride into. St Ives. So much choice for breakfast and tea suppled in quirky teapots. Just an all round good vibe to the place.

Tips:

Nice Tapas restaurant just up the road from the Green Apple. Short walk to the beach in Cabris Bay ( about 20 minutes). Just so well positioned to accessing lots of other places. Just perfect, highly recommended.

It was clear from everything one encountered in one's room, and at breakfast, that much thought had been put into how to make guests as comfortable and welcome as possible.

This is a great place to stay if you plan on walking the St Michael's Pilgrimage way!

Adrian was an excellent host. Continental style breakfast was excellent. I loved the ham and cheese. Very welcoming and always available( the stairs creak for a purpose)

St Ives is walkable by the coastal path and the most amazing beaches are situated in this area. Hayle beach 4 km definitely worth a visit.

Great breakfast is provided with plenty food, I liked the quirky and colourful designs inside the hotel which it had a cheerful feel about it. The owner is very friendly and helpful person. 10/10 from me and thank you, I will return again. Guy

Wonderful and cozy b&b stay close to Carbis Bay beach and a walk away from St Ives. Loved every moment of our trip. Everyone was lovely and we felt very welcomed. Would absolutely stay here again.

Tips:

Carbis bay beach is about 10 minutes away down the hill or alternatively take the train right next to it to St Ives - full of chain and independent shops, restaurants such as tretho lounge facing the harbour or lots of local takeaway fish and chip shops which can be enjoyed anywhere (just be careful of the seagulls). Enjoy a drink at pedi olva with the beautiful Porthminster beach view or hop in and have a swim.

St Ives is a quaint village with a fishing harbour. An artist's paradise due to the light conditions. So many places to see: The Lizard, Sennen Cove with wide open sandy beach, Zennor and walk to Zennor Head. The Lizzard is the most southerly point in the UK. Adrian is a great host @ Breakfast/ he makes sure you have everything you need. You can see that lots of care & attention to detail has been put into the property to make your stay is comfortable.

Tips:

Well worth jumping on the open top coastal route bus to Lands End (take a long sleeve top as its a bit chilly / even if the suns out) Bus stop 3 mins walk turning right out of the front gate & on the way back its opposite the Green Apple 🍏

Excellent B&B. Efficiently run but relaxed atmosphere. Second visit and would definitely stay here again when visiting Cornwall.

Tips:

Open top bus was amazing, followed the coast to Lands End. Open air Lido in Penzance, boat safari trip, saw seals, dolphins and a minke whale. 2 min walk to really nice tapas bar. St Ives, walkable or buses passing B&B every 10 mins. Hayle beach gorgeous and easy to park. All in all a great base.

Really enjoyed our stay at Green Apple, the location is close to all the beaches, also the trinket shops associated with those beaches. A Tesco store is very close offering very convenient shopping if required. Great position also for visiting Penzance. Adrian was absolutely great too, very friendly, offered just the right amount of interesting conversation, and helpful in relation to our surroundings.

Tips:

Make sure when visiting the beaches to leave your car in one of the outside car parks.

20th July 2022:

Wonderful second stay at Green Apple B&B 🍏 We love all the little touches and the apple theme throughout the property and in the rooms, and lovely breakfast room with some vegan options too. Really appreciate the extra fridge where guests can chill a few small items. The rooms are beautifully decorated. Very good location too. Pacific Rose room was splendid. We enjoyed the slightly bigger bathroom, the shower had really good water pressure which is always a bonus. Thanks for providing proper sized mugs and a kettle in the rooms, always appreciated! Lots of space in the room to store belongings and useful having lots of mirrors. Thank you for being a very welcoming host and for an amazing stay. We will definitely be back for a third time, and hopefully more!

Tips:

B&B easily accessible by public transport if you don't bring a car. We found it best to get on and off the train at St Erth and catch a bus from there, rather than go to Carbis Bay train station with luggage as you have to contend with hills. The St Ives train line is fantastic though with gorgeous views. The buses in the area are great for getting around and seeing more of Cornwall and should be taken advantage of! Journeys of course take longer by bus but you get some great views and can access a lot of popular sites this way, you just need to be aware of the timetables. The coastal path from Carbis Bay to St Ives is also great.

Tips:

Beautiful beach 10 minute walk away although its a very steep hilly walk. Can drive to St Ives in 10 minutes (but there are also regular bus or train services) where there are lots of lovely places to eat with a gorgeous view.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The accommodation was perfect. Adrian made us feel very welcome and he is such a helpful person, recommending on places we could visit and helping us with other info, ie. the buses. We liked the quirkiness of the room and the dining area. I would not hesitate in recommending this B&B to others. When I come back to Cornwall I will certainly stay again.

Tips:

Beck's fish & chip restaurant in Carbis Bay and the Badger Inn in Lelant are both great eating establishments. St Ives is a beautiful town with stunning beaches. Lots of eateries,, coffee shops and lots f independent shops and galleries. The open top bus is must as it only costs £5 and is a great way to get around. The train journey from St Ives to St Earth is worth doing. The views are stunning.

Easy to find. Parking not an issue. Rang the doorbell and Adrian answered it, was very friendly and told us about breakfast times, keys etc. Through our short but sweet stay, the service was brilliant, the room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. I would not hesitate to recommend this B&B to anybody else, it is exactly what we needed with easy access to everything! Thank you.

Tips:

(all approximate) 10 minute walk to railway station. 20 minute stroll along coastal path to St. Ives. 5 minute drive to St. Ives (the roads are very narrow in St. Ives so be careful). 5 minute walk to bus stop. The harbour and surrounding areas are incredibly picturesque and everything is easily accessible via car/train/bus.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Green Apple B&B! Our family room was lovely, clean and perfect size for 2 adults and a child. The Green Apple is easy to find and in a great location whatever you’re planning to do - shopping in St Ives, go to the Carbis Beach or hit the road to any other destination in Cornwall. The owner was so lovely, polite and friendly and made us feel so welcomed throughout our stay. The breakfast was delicious and our daughter absolutely loved staying there. The B&B is child friendly and there is a play ground very close by, not to mention the stunning Carbis Bay beach 10mins walk away!

Tips:

Definitely worth visiting: The Carbis Bay Beach - 10 mis away (walk) The La Casita restaurant- 2 mins away (walk) St Ives Town Centre Paradise Park in Hayle plus the local beach (20 mins drive) Lands End point - 40 mins drive West Country Surf School in Newquay (50 mins drive) St Michael’s Mount (15/20 mins drive)

Well just what a delightful location run by charming efficient owners - we could not have asked for better accommodation, help and the most superb breakfasts! Nothing was too much trouble and if we are wanting accommodation again in the St Ives area will certainly return to Green Apple Bed and Breakfast. The roms were clean and well equipped and honestly lacked nothing - tea making, television very comfortable beds and striking views from the front facing bedrooms. Thank you for our stay I would certainly recommend you to stay at Green Apple Bed and Breakfast whether just for a few nights or longer.

Tips:

The St Ives area is superb - The Old Quay in Hayle serves superb meals as does the Watermill in Lelant. The Sloop Inn on the seafront in St Ives is good and there are more venues to find and lots of Pastie shops too!

Thanks for the warm welcome and lovely room. Great views, and convenient and quiet location. Could easily have stayed longer:-)

Tips:

If you enjoy a 'home from home' experience with warm welcome, a cosy yet quirky place to rest your head, and conveniently quiet base to explore from then this is the place to go:-) Especially nice for creatives and explorers, with a view of the sea from the breakfast room, maybe take an hour or so to indulge yourself and paint a seascape! That's what I'll be doing on my next visit, for sure! I've stayed in so many different B&Bs over the years as I absolutely love St Ives however, this one feels like it has a heart and is drawing me back for a return visit; and I'm sure you will feel the same, so why not give it a go! In terms of places to eat, a firm favourite of mine is the Seafood Cafe in town; and there are a few rather lovely tearooms, with some offering gluten free scones and plant-based hot chocolate:-) Plenty of foodie places along the St Ives Rd too, so worth mixing it up a bit.

Some nice restaurants in Carbis Bay and nearby Leland. Recommend “La Casita” and The Old Forge. This is a great B&B, Adrian is very welcoming and helpful. The location is really good with a bus stop very close by taking you into St Ives for £2.50 or a 10minute walk to train station with train costing £1 and taking 5mins to St Ives. The bedrooms are light and airy with all you need for a restful stay. Good cold breakfast with lots of choices. I would definitely recommend this B&B as a perfect location to enjoy St Ives but being able to escape the business and relax in a more peaceful setting.

Tips:

Prebook all restaurants a good few weeks prior to coming to St Ives. I can Porthmeor beach cafe for burgers and comfort food and Tregenna Castle for a lovely Sunday roast. Tate Modern is worth a visit too. Lots of hills so wear good trainers and be prepared for crowds in St Ives itself. Our stay at the green apple bed and breakfast was absolutely lovely ,Adrian was a super Guest house owner nothing was to much trouble for him , asking is advice on places to go , places to see he was brilliant couldn't recommend him enough .lovely Man .

Tips:

Local restaurants the Carbis hotel was lovely but food was very expensive but saying that the food is home cooked and sea food was delicious straight from the sea itself , so my husband said, so sometimes you have to pay more for luxury . The badger inn was lovely to . Lands end is a place to visit £7 for car parking all day beautiful place food was lovely there as well as the scenery . St Ives itself bus ride there £2 each so wasn't that expensive , but it was very busy as you can Imagine .

19th August 2021:

A very enjoyable two weeks stay at this excellent B&B, which is ideally placed at Carbis Bay for St Ives, the beach opposite, and travel around the region (there's bus stops nearby and the trainline to St Erth, and various onward mainline connections, is just ten minutes walk away). The room I stayed in was clean, well presented with sea views as well as tea/coffee making facilities etc. The bed was comfortable and I slept well each night, usually after a good day's exploration of Cornwall. Breakfast is a self-service buffet of cereals, toast/waffles etc, fresh fruit, ham/eggs, tea/coffee/juice, yoghurts and various other bits and bobs. There's no cooked breakfast as such (though hard boiled eggs are provided), but if you want a leisurely breakfast then I think this is ideal. Breakfast is from 8am to 10am. The host is friendly and helpful, which helps to keep the leisurely feel of the place. At the same time, if things do need sorting out then they are attended to pretty quickly. I noticed the WIFI had dropped on one day and it was back up in no time, after a quick reboot. I travelled by train, so I can't comment with direct knowledge as to parking. However, I believe there are a couple of spaces at the back available on a first come first served basis and onstreet parking nearby (it's a quiet area, so I would not be concerned about leaving my car on the road). While there (2 weeks), I did not hear any other guests, most who drove, complain about not being able to park. In St Ives town, that would be a different story. Overall, a really good place to stay. This was my second visit, the first a few years ago, and I look forward to staying again in the future.

Tips:

As with many places these days, book restaurants at least a few days in advance. It can be difficult to get the place you want on the day itself, or even the day before, especially if you are in a group and/or want peak hours.

Adrian is very friendly, helpful and honest. He was very welcoming and the Green apple is a great place to stay. Great sea views, as the Carbis bay beach is not too far away. There are lots of information in the rooms about activities for children and restaurants. It is close to the town centre and there are some local restaurants and shops like Tesco, costcutter and pharmacy. The decorations at green apple is unique, simple but exquisites/sophisticated. The best time for me is breakfast as table wears especially the teapots are one of a kind. Thank you Adrian we had a great family time. I will highly recommend Green Apple B & B and will definitely visit again.

Tips:

If you have children there are great places to book, if they are looking for adventures there is the Adrenalin query, theme parks and lovely beaches all around St Ives and Lands End.

Adrian was the most amazing host who was not only understanding of the Covid situation and potential of changes to the booking from the start, but who was extremely attentive (without being in your face). From making sure we were comfortable with the breakfast social distancing arrangements as I am clinically extremely vulnerable from Covid to checking if everything in the room was good for us, he made us feel very welcome and comfortable in his wonderful BnB. The room was small but we knew that and the lovely sea view and extremely comfortable bed more than made up for it. It was only a short stay but we hope to be back for longer at some point.

Tips:

Having a shop nearby was invaluable to get things like water and lunch. La Casita restaurant, also nearby, does takeaway and the most delicious pizzas - the seafood one was heaven. The beach and station are down a steep hill which even the fittest people we met said was a trek back up. But taxis are very cheap and helpful.

The Green Apple far surpassed all expectations and I loved my stay there. Adrian, the host was very friendly and welcoming and showed me up to one of the loveliest single rooms I have ever stayed in. Apparently, I was only its second ever occupant. The room was airy and light and also had the best view in the house, overlooking the sea. The whole place was immaculately clean and there was plenty of choice for breakfast. I would not hesitate to recommend the Green Apple to anybody and will definitely be making a return visit myself.

Tips:

I walked into St Ives a couple of times and it was a very easy and pleasant 30 minute walk. There's a wonderful vegetarian/vegan restaurant called The Bean Inn, just a few minutes walk along the road (towards St Ives) from the Green Apple. Definitely recommended.

Loved the ocean view from bedroom and bathroom! Was fortunate to catch sunrise and sunset from there. Very appropriate for couple + baby with car, easy reach to everything, shop nearby for forgotten bits, clean and tidy and all mod coms including kettle in room. Breakfast was amazing and little fridge with fruit yoghurt and milk open all day long very handy for late night tea or baby snack. Adrian arranged cot bed for baby and was super kind and nice, thanks so much.

Tips:

Super easy reach (by car, otherwise may be long walk) to local beach and also bit very little bit further to St Ives with its beaches and harbour and wonderful restaurants and shops. Struggled to find car park in high season, try train station and small private car parks off the beaten track. Fish and chips and pizza from harbour shops very very tasty and perfect to eat on the beach. The Island is a raised hill by one of the beaches, people perch on it to catch sunset, it's breathtaking.

We had a lovely stay! Very warm welcome, comfortable rooms and beautiful views over the sea from the breakfast room. Plus free parking! We would love to come again!

Tips:

The walk from the Green Apple to the Center of St Ives is spectacular! Beautiful views onto the beaches and St Ives. This walk takes about 30 minutes and was the very highlight of our St Ives visit.

We arrived at the green apple after a very long journey and the host Adrian was amazing. He was able to cater for us under ridiculously short notice and made our stay extremely comfortable. Our stay in the 'honeycrisp' room was lovely, beautiful views across Carbis Bay from the massive bay window. The breakfast room was lovely. I would highly recommend staying at the green apple B&B the feel of the place is lovely.

Tips:

I would highly recommend a visit to Carbis Bay beach, St Ives Town, Lands End, Kynance Cove and on route home a stop at Golithic Falls

Fantastic B&B. Clean, spacious rooms (ensuite!) with plenty of room for three adults. Adrian was an amazing host, providing a lovely breakfast and great hospitality. We will be back if down this way again in future! Louis

Tips:

Beck's fish and chip shop is a must. Huge portions, great beer and friendly staff. Also interior of the Gannet Inn is very pretty. Don't be worried that the B&B isn't in St Ives itself, takes about 5 mins to drive down.

A very friendly & welcoming stay, we felt very much at ease. The bed was comfortable & room spacious with all facilities we needed. Thank you.

Tips:

Although we didn’t use it as we’d already eaten, there is a pub, The Gannet a couple of minutes’ walk away. Carbis Bay railway station is about 10 minutes’ walk (uphill from the station) & 2 regular bus services into St Ives pass the B&B.

A Wonderful stay - a cosy room, fine breakfast in a lovely vintage decorated breakfast room and nice garden to the front to sit outside. Bus connections are even better than walking to the beach to the railway station. It has been a lovely, very pleasant stay with Adrian and staff, always very kind, friendly and helpful providing their guests with all extras and information they could need.

Tips:

Carbis Bay is wonderful at any season. The Green Apple is close to the Beach and best located for any travelling and sightseeing around St. Ives, Penzance, Hale etc. I would recommend to spend at least 5-7 days here.

Tips:

Porthminster beach cafe is an excellent restaurant. The suggestions in the B and B are worth following- we had a good meal at the nearby tapas/italian. Coastal walk to St Ives is relatively easy with good views- better than using the road. Buses are regular and useful rather than taking the car into StIves. The Tate and Barbara Hepworth are top visits. The harbour and the old town with narrow streets are atmospheric. Further afield we liked Mousehole

Tips:

The b&b is situated at cardiacs bay, just outside of st ives. Walk down to cardiacs bay as it’s beautiful and there’s a coastal path to st ives. Landsend isn’t far and makes a great day out. We went at the end of our trip but discovered that they offer you a free pass to go back within 7 days. Once in that area, go to see the Minac theatre (but book a show in advance of going), it’s an outdoor theatre. The beach next to there is beautiful too. Was a great location, being so close to the train station. Very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great and delicious. Adrian was very welcoming and helpful with directions and local knowledge. My only suggested improvement (very minor) would be if the shower was a bit more powerful, higher water pressure. But this is very specific and picky of me and didn't impact the overall experience at all.

The ground floor family room called Granny Smith was perfect for us. Comfy beds, it has a dining table inside so we could have breakfast in our room if we want. Great for our autistic son, who can sometimes be difficult in public. Though we also sat in the dining room outside because it's so lovely and homey. Adrian was very friendly and welcoming. The continental breakfast has plenty of choices. All round wonderful place to stay! Definitely would recommend. Thanks, Adrian!

Tips:

There's a public kids playground just across the road, we didn't get a chance to go, but it's a nice addition. A Tesco close by too, if you need anything. The b&b is not too far from St. Ives by car. You can walk the hilly roads as well and soak up the beautiful surroundings.

Wonderful B&B, excellent location and fantastic staff. We were made to feel so welcome, given recommendations for activities and places to visit. Would recommend to absolutely everyone.

Tips:

A pack of things to do in Cornwall is included in the room. Excellent idea that gave us ideas for what to do during our trip. Newquay zoo is excellent, not far to travel and you can return as many times as you like within 7 days so is excellent value for money.

Adrian is a great host with a lot of local knowledge. The room downstairs was great with an extra key for the other door! Easy to get in and out as the car was parked around the corner.

Tips:

Do not drive into St Ives at night lol, the traffic, lack of parking places and small roads make it difficult centrally. If you do, parking is available just past the harbour, £3 for the whole evening / night. Different local beaches within easy reach.

Fantastic stay, am going to re book something for early next year in the coming weeks, the room was only recently refurbished and had a nice sea view and its own entrance. Adrian could not have been a better host.

Tips:

La Casita is a nearby Mediterranean restaurant and the food and ambience was superb, there is a nice pub doing good food and local ales only a five minute walk away, regular busses to Penzance, St Ives and Truro (every half hour), local supermarkets/post office within 200 yards and Carbis beach too.

A very friendly Cosy B and B. Parking in St Ives is always a problem but this is not an issue here. The bus service into town is first class and you can easily walk to a good Spanish style restaurant, where we ate twice.

Plenty to do and see in St Ives and thereabouts. Bring a fairly small car to make parking possible.

Absolutely would recommend as everything one looks for in terms of a comfortable stay. Fluffy towels, huge comfortable bed, plenty of lamps and sockets and a very warm welcome from the owner. Especially loved the sea view from our room as well as breakfast which needs a special mention. We were surprised by the excellent choices though a buffet plenty of choices including yogurts and a variety of juices and pastries. Adrian also gave us all the information we needed for both the surrounding areas as well as bus routes. Really helpful. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely 1 week stay, very reasonably priced in a great location for links to St ives without the hustle and bustle of the town centre. Adrian, the owner couldn’t help us enough, gave us some brilliant recommendations for attractions and things to do, places to eat and drink and made us feel really welcome. Rooms were cosy and clean and breakfast was simple but with good choice and was very nice. Overall we had a great week and would definitely stay again!

Tips:

Best restaurant we ate at was La Casita in Carbis bay, Spanish and Italian restaurant 300 yards from the B & B. For things to do would definitely recommend healeys cider farm (but next time we’ll do the factory tour) and the Minack theatre where For £5 you can tour the outdoor theatre built into the cliff face at Porthcurno and on a Sunday afternoon they do run throughs of the new show to start on the Monday night for the next week. For the best views, lizard point and St Michaels Mount are a must!

When on arrival greeted by the owner(Adrian) who made us feel very welcome & made us a pot of tea. Room was clean with a double & single bed,tea & coffee making facility's, en-suite bathroom & table for eating breakfast which was a nice touch! Breakfast was of a continental style with cheese, ham, tomatoes, crossiants, cereals,Juice etc so plenty to c hoose from! Would recommend anyone to stay as made very welcome & felt comfortable!

Tips:

Would recommend the Atlantic bay for something more reasonable in price for something to eat or the Badger Inn @ lelant for good ales & reasonable priced & selection of food. Would recommend taking the bus(which runs regularly) to local places St Ives etc but not to far afield as entails alot of changes of buses!Nice walk down to Carbis Bay Beach but don't try to drive down as can be awkward & car park small & very expensive (£10!!!)

Good local restaurants within walking distance as were also a convenience store and post office. Teapots a speciality! Met some lovely people over breakfasts.Relaxed.

Tips:

Go to La Casita for Spanish ambiance, Gannet Inn for more Brit style or the Bean Inn if you like vegetarian food. We visited Botallack for Poldark and tin/copper mines; Mullion Harbour and cliffs for coastal walk; Portheras Cove Beach for swimming and The Lizard peninsula for interest.

This is a lovely B & B in an ideal location. The guy who owns Green Apple is really nice much better than previous B & B I have stayed in. He provides a lovely breakfast and tea and coffee in the room which is always appreciated. The only downside for us was that it was very hot in the room and due to the outside noise it wasnt ideal to have the window open, so a small fan would have been a real benefit. Other than that you cant go wrong staying here.

Tips:

Cardis Bay is way expensive for food and drink although we did have a lovely meal in the Italian just round the corner to the Green Apple. St Ives which you can easily get to on the coastal path in around 45 minutes has some lovely eateries which are still not cheap but cheaper than the local places.

Adrian is a great host and very friendly. The room was very clean and the bed very comfy medium/soft mattress. My only gripe would be the water pressure in the shower but it was manageable. Great location just outside St Ives (25 min walk with some lovely scenery) Medium sized Tesco 10 mins walk and late night shop 3 doors down. Good continental Breakfast and good wifi connection.

Tips:

St Ives 25 min walk away or 5 min drive. Plenty of parking in the town. Parking available at side of B&B if you get there quick enough (space for 3 cars). Sea view from Gala room. Newquay is 40 mins away and Lands End around the same. Nice place to stay!

Tips:

Don't go to Carbis Bay beach. The development work there has made it a truly horrendous experience, unless you're prepared to spend a lot of money in the restaurant or scramble down the rocks at the other end of the beach for an independent experience. Not recommended for anyone but the super rich or very hardy! Beautiful beach ruined by money grabbing hotel. Cornwall has many others which are a much more pleasant. Try Porthminster!
