Had a great stay. Thank you. Easy and flexible check in. Very friendly . The B and B is decorated in a lovely, light yet warm way, and it was easy to feel at home there. Continental style breakfast included lots of choices. We definitely recommend the Green Apple.
Tips:Travel to St Ives( and other places in Cornwall) is so easy via bus , but better still by train , from the bottom of the hill. Cheap, quick, efficient, and great views.

We were given a front room, with the beautiful ocean view, which we very much appreciated. Breakfast held a wide assortment of choices - pastries, boiled eggs, toast, fruit, yogurt, cereals, juices, waffles and pancakes. The bedroom and bathroom are nicely decorated and very clean. We are very pleased with our two night stay.
Tips:There are good restaurants just walking distance to the left and right out the door. Parking was on the street to the side of the building.

Received a very warm welcome, room was warm and clean and very comfortable. Breakfast had a good selection and was very nice - especially the boiled eggs! Would definitely return. Thank you
Tips:We stayed here as had booked The Ugly Butterfly resteraunt, about a 15 min walk - all downhill on the way there and all up hill on the way back! An excellent tasting menu.

This was a fabulous place to stay while walking the coast path. We loved the individually decorated rooms, carefully thought out furnishings, and the warm welcome. By common agreement the beds were the most comfortable that we slept in during this week of the path. One of our rooms had a wonderful sea view too. We couldn’t have asked for more!

Lovely B & B in a great area. Adrian was lovely, very helpful and organised. Nothing was too much trouble. Our room was comfortable and clean. Close to Carbis Bay beach and a lovely walk to St Ives along the coast.
Tips:Lovely walks, lovely beaches, easy parking and regular buses to StIves and Penzance. Lots of places to eat in St Ives. We had a good meal at The Badger Inn in Lelant, a small village about 2 miles from Carbis Bay.

An excellent B&B & great value for money. I would certainly return.
Tips:Catching the train into St.Ives is a better option than driving. I would walk to Carbis Bay Station, as it's a short walk from Green Apple & parking at the station costs £5 ontop of the train ticket. However, St. Ives is well worth a visit, as is Marazion & St.Michael's Mount. For a quick, simple & great value meal, Becks is worth a visit. The Dolphin in Penzance is also a great pub for food.

This is a great spot if you prefer a quieter location away from the hustle and bustle. It's a 10-minute walk from Carbis Bay beach and station. perfect for satellite trips to St Ives.
Tips:The Beach club restaurant by Carbis Bay beach is a little spenny but do the best chips I've ever had. Also the staff are super nice. There aren't a huge amount of places to eat around Carbis Bay so i recommend if you are spending the day in St Ives to get dinner there before heading back.

I had a lovely stay, on a busy road but quiet at night, easy walk on quiet streets and a twitten to Carbis Bay rail station which had frequent and reliable service to St Ives and the other direction- to Hayle and Penzance. I also walked the coast path right from Carbis Bay itself. Just below the train station is a twitten leading down to the wonderful beach which has a bathroom and lots of dining options. I ended up eating at the Carbis Bay hotel - as I m vegetarian. Was also able to get a bus directly to Twengainten Gardens past Penzance from close by the bnb

We had a really great stay at Green Apple - Adrian was an amazing host and let us check in early as we arrived very early morning and he happened to have a room spare. The en suite room was homely and clean and had a lovely shower. Tea/coffee facilities were in the room, everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided. Lovely breakfast in the morning too. Would recommend Green Apple to all!
Tips:Yvette’s Pantry is a short walk and looks like a great vegetarian/vegan cafe (turn left from Green Apple and walk down for about 10 mins). We didn’t get time to go as it was closed but it looked lovely. There’s also a great family-run fish and chip shop a few mins away from Green Apple (turn right and walk for about 2-3 mins). You can get to St Ives by foot in about 25 mins - it’s a great way to explore. Alternatively, there’s a bus stop outside Green Apple and the buses take you to St Ives in about 8 mins.

Already reviewed on Expedia, but definitely worth reviewing again! Adrian was a perfect host and nothing was too much trouble for him. He was always available to support us when needed. He was very warm, chatty and made our stay super memorable. We normally dislike continental breakfasts, but this one was amazing! So much choice, such fresh, tasty food and the drinks were really cold. The kitchen area is so pretty and quirky too! Our room was lovely, beautiful views of the sea, and extremely comfortable beds. Adrian knows so much about the area too which helped us a lot. We loved our stay and will definitely be back.
Tips:Location of the hotel is great, right next to bus stop with direct links to many places of interest.

We had a perfect stay at the Green Apple. Newly updated, everything about it was crisp and fresh. We got in late and slept well on the very comfortable beds in the Honeycrisp room, tucked in under soft blankets, and awoke to a striking view of the ocean from our suite’s window. A buffet breakfast had plenty of choices for us (one vegan, one omnivore). Adrian, our host, was extremely kind and helpful and a lot of fun to talk to. He told us about a footpath into St. Ives that is not to be missed. We will have fond memories of our stay!
Tips:If you are getting in late by train, as we did, strongly suggest calling ahead for a cab from St. Erth. When you make your reservations, ask Adrian for the phone numbers of the two cab companies serving the area.

28th March 2024:
Adrian is a Warm and welcoming host with an authentic Cornish heritage, so he knows a lot about the local area. While we were there he was very pleasant and accommodating and took pride in his establishment. We had the triple room, which was newly decorated and very clean. The ensuite bathroom is a great size and also sparkly clean with fluffy towels, toilet rolls, soap and shower gel provided. The breakfast room is lovely, light and fresh with individual tables for each room. They serve a varied continental breakfast with plenty of vegan options. There is a small bay for parking at the back, this is potluck if it's available although, there is free parking on the roadside next to the building and surrounding area. It is really lovely and would definitely recommend it to anyone we know thinking of visiting St Ives.
Tips:There is a bus stop with a regular service taking you to and from St Ives and Penzance, nearby. You can also catch the small train to St Ives and Penzance from near the beach, which is great for the scenery. If you like to walk, are mobile or have a mobility scooter, you can easily get there without using transport, either by walking along the main road or detouring through the lovely country lanes. Carbis Bay beach is easy to get to, beautiful and very safe for families. There is also a stunning walk along the beautiful coastal path (Not for the faint-hearted). Both of these and the train station can be accessed by the road across from the B and B. There are great restaurants nearby but be prepared, it is not cheap. If you eat a plant-based diet, a real treat is the Bean Inn in Carbis Bay, which serves exclusively, 100% homemade and freshly cooked, Vegetarian and vegan food. but, you MUST book. We also ate at Becks Fish and Chips on the first night because it was quick and across the road but, I wouldn't eat there again. Too greasy, tired and not what it used to be. The Gannett Inn is nearby and meant to be very good but we found the menu a little too unremarkable for the prices. Mostly we ate in St Ives as this is where we spent most of our time. For vegan food, I would definitely recommend Tretho Lounge. Lots of vegan options, very tasty food and a very good price, for St Ives. The Talay Thai Kitchen is okay, but they have not added any new vegan options for many years. The vegan menu is quite rubbish really, a choice of either a cashew stir fry or a noodle dish, I won't go again. Of course, you should indulge in a Cornish Pasty, at least once on your trip. As a StIvian myself, I would recommend The Cornish Bakehouse in Fore Street, St Ives. If you love to hike and just enjoy the wildness of Cornwall, I would recommend the walk out along Gurnards Head, the coastal views are spectacular. Get there early enough and park in the Inn car park. The walk can go for miles if you want. The Gurnards Inn has amazing food, (again pricey) but worth it. There are also many, many hills to climb and admire the views. Buttermilk Hill is one of the best with its mines. Have a wander up the country lanes from St Ives or Carbis Bay to Knills Monument for a great view of the town and to get some peace and quiet. Carbis Bay is really handy for getting to all the popular villages and towns in the area and is out of the way of the crushing crowds of St Ives, in the height of summer. It is very easy to navigate as it's basically, just a long road filled with B and Bs, so you can't get lost. Anyway, have a lovely time, I hope the sun shines for you and don't forget .. DON'T FEED THE GULLS...

Great breakfast is provided with plenty food, I liked the quirky and colourful designs inside the hotel which it had a cheerful feel about it. The owner is very friendly and helpful person. 10/10 from me and thank you, I will return again. Guy

Wonderful and cozy b&b stay close to Carbis Bay beach and a walk away from St Ives. Loved every moment of our trip. Everyone was lovely and we felt very welcomed. Would absolutely stay here again.
Tips:Carbis bay beach is about 10 minutes away down the hill or alternatively take the train right next to it to St Ives - full of chain and independent shops, restaurants such as tretho lounge facing the harbour or lots of local takeaway fish and chip shops which can be enjoyed anywhere (just be careful of the seagulls). Enjoy a drink at pedi olva with the beautiful Porthminster beach view or hop in and have a swim.

Wonderful second stay at Green Apple B&B 🍏 We love all the little touches and the apple theme throughout the property and in the rooms, and lovely breakfast room with some vegan options too. Really appreciate the extra fridge where guests can chill a few small items. The rooms are beautifully decorated. Very good location too. Pacific Rose room was splendid. We enjoyed the slightly bigger bathroom, the shower had really good water pressure which is always a bonus. Thanks for providing proper sized mugs and a kettle in the rooms, always appreciated! Lots of space in the room to store belongings and useful having lots of mirrors. Thank you for being a very welcoming host and for an amazing stay. We will definitely be back for a third time, and hopefully more!
Tips:B&B easily accessible by public transport if you don't bring a car. We found it best to get on and off the train at St Erth and catch a bus from there, rather than go to Carbis Bay train station with luggage as you have to contend with hills. The St Ives train line is fantastic though with gorgeous views. The buses in the area are great for getting around and seeing more of Cornwall and should be taken advantage of! Journeys of course take longer by bus but you get some great views and can access a lot of popular sites this way, you just need to be aware of the timetables. The coastal path from Carbis Bay to St Ives is also great.

Thanks for the warm welcome and lovely room. Great views, and convenient and quiet location. Could easily have stayed longer:-)
Tips:If you enjoy a 'home from home' experience with warm welcome, a cosy yet quirky place to rest your head, and conveniently quiet base to explore from then this is the place to go:-) Especially nice for creatives and explorers, with a view of the sea from the breakfast room, maybe take an hour or so to indulge yourself and paint a seascape! That's what I'll be doing on my next visit, for sure! I've stayed in so many different B&Bs over the years as I absolutely love St Ives however, this one feels like it has a heart and is drawing me back for a return visit; and I'm sure you will feel the same, so why not give it a go! In terms of places to eat, a firm favourite of mine is the Seafood Cafe in town; and there are a few rather lovely tearooms, with some offering gluten free scones and plant-based hot chocolate:-) Plenty of foodie places along the St Ives Rd too, so worth mixing it up a bit.

Perfect host in Adrian who has created a relaxed and very friendly atmosphere. Great location with easy access to St Ives and other areas in South Cornwall. Handy for local buses as well if you don’t want to drive. Nothing was too much trouble and we really enjoyed our stay.
Tips:Some nice restaurants in Carbis Bay and nearby Leland. Recommend “La Casita” and The Old Forge. Pre-booking recommended as everywhere very busy especially in St Ives which we avoided for food as it was so busy. Great beaches and walks nearby and good bus service into St Ives which is also walkable in 30-40mins either along main road or the coastal scenic route. Recommend St Michaels Mount and Lands End for trips.

This is a great B&B, Adrian is very welcoming and helpful. The location is really good with a bus stop very close by taking you into St Ives for £2.50 or a 10minute walk to train station with train costing £1 and taking 5mins to St Ives. The bedrooms are light and airy with all you need for a restful stay. Good cold breakfast with lots of choices. I would definitely recommend this B&B as a perfect location to enjoy St Ives but being able to escape the business and relax in a more peaceful setting.
Tips:Prebook all restaurants a good few weeks prior to coming to St Ives. I can Porthmeor beach cafe for burgers and comfort food and Tregenna Castle for a lovely Sunday roast. Tate Modern is worth a visit too. Lots of hills so wear good trainers and be prepared for crowds in St Ives itself. Very dog friendly town and the people are really friendly and make the whole holiday that bit extra special. Fabulous shopping and wonderful food. The beaches are super clean and the sea is amazing.

Tips:Local restaurants the Carbis hotel was lovely but food was very expensive but saying that the food is home cooked and sea food was delicious straight from the sea itself , so my husband said, so sometimes you have to pay more for luxury . The badger inn was lovely to . Lands end is a place to visit £7 for car parking all day beautiful place food was lovely there as well as the scenery . A very enjoyable two weeks stay at this excellent B&B, which is ideally placed at Carbis Bay for St Ives, the beach opposite, and travel around the region (there's bus stops nearby and the trainline to St Erth, and various onward mainline connections, is just ten minutes walk away). The room I stayed in was clean, well presented with sea views as well as tea/coffee making facilities etc. The bed was comfortable and I slept well each night, usually after a good day's exploration of Cornwall. Breakfast is a self-service buffet of cereals, toast/waffles etc, fresh fruit, ham/eggs, tea/coffee/juice, yoghurts and various other bits and bobs. There's no cooked breakfast as such (though hard boiled eggs are provided), but if you want a leisurely breakfast then I think this is ideal. Breakfast is from 8am to 10am. The host is friendly and helpful, which helps to keep the leisurely feel of the place. At the same time, if things do need sorting out then they are attended to pretty quickly. I noticed the WIFI had dropped on one day and it was back up in no time, after a quick reboot. I travelled by train, so I can't comment with direct knowledge as to parking. However, I believe there are a couple of spaces at the back available on a first come first served basis and onstreet parking nearby (it's a quiet area, so I would not be concerned about leaving my car on the road). While there (2 weeks), I did not hear any other guests, most who drove, complain about not being able to park. In St Ives town, that would be a different story. Overall, a really good place to stay. This was my second visit, the first a few years ago, and I look forward to staying again in the future.
Tips:As with many places these days, book restaurants at least a few days in advance. It can be difficult to get the place you want on the day itself, or even the day before, especially if you are in a group and/or want peak hours.

Adrian is very friendly, helpful and honest. He was very welcoming and the Green apple is a great place to stay. Great sea views, as the Carbis bay beach is not too far away. There are lots of information in the rooms about activities for children and restaurants. It is close to the town centre and there are some local restaurants and shops like Tesco, costcutter and pharmacy. The decorations at green apple is unique, simple but exquisites/sophisticated. The best time for me is breakfast as table wears especially the teapots are one of a kind. Thank you Adrian we had a great family time. I will highly recommend Green Apple B & B and will definitely visit again.
Tips:If you have children there are great places to book, if they are looking for adventures there is the Adrenalin query, theme parks and lovely beaches all around St Ives and Lands End.

Adrian was the most amazing host who was not only understanding of the Covid situation and potential of changes to the booking from the start, but who was extremely attentive (without being in your face). From making sure we were comfortable with the breakfast social distancing arrangements as I am clinically extremely vulnerable from Covid to checking if everything in the room was good for us, he made us feel very welcome and comfortable in his wonderful BnB. The room was small but we knew that and the lovely sea view and extremely comfortable bed more than made up for it. It was only a short stay but we hope to be back for longer at some point.
Tips:Having a shop nearby was invaluable to get things like water and lunch. La Casita restaurant, also nearby, does takeaway and the most delicious pizzas - the seafood one was heaven. The beach and station are down a steep hill which even the fittest people we met said was a trek back up. But taxis are very cheap and helpful.

The Green Apple far surpassed all expectations and I loved my stay there. Adrian, the host was very friendly and welcoming and showed me up to one of the loveliest single rooms I have ever stayed in. Apparently, I was only its second ever occupant. The room was airy and light and also had the best view in the house, overlooking the sea. The whole place was immaculately clean and there was plenty of choice for breakfast. I would not hesitate to recommend the Green Apple to anybody and will definitely be making a return visit myself.

Loved the ocean view from bedroom and bathroom! Was fortunate to catch sunrise and sunset from there. Very appropriate for couple + baby with car, easy reach to everything, shop nearby for forgotten bits, clean and tidy and all mod coms including kettle in room. Breakfast was amazing and little fridge with fruit yoghurt and milk open all day long very handy for late night tea or baby snack. Adrian arranged cot bed for baby and was super kind and nice, thanks so much.
Tips:Super easy reach (by car, otherwise may be long walk) to local beach and also bit very little bit further to St Ives with its beaches and harbour and wonderful restaurants and shops. Struggled to find car park in high season, try train station and small private car parks off the beaten track. Fish and chips and pizza from harbour shops very very tasty and perfect to eat on the beach. The Island is a raised hill by one of the beaches, people perch on it to catch sunset, it's breathtaking.

We arrived at the green apple after a very long journey and the host Adrian was amazing. He was able to cater for us under ridiculously short notice and made our stay extremely comfortable. Our stay in the 'honeycrisp' room was lovely, beautiful views across Carbis Bay from the massive bay window. The breakfast room was lovely. I would highly recommend staying at the green apple B&B the feel of the place is lovely.

A Wonderful stay - a cosy room, fine breakfast in a lovely vintage decorated breakfast room and nice garden to the front to sit outside. Bus connections are even better than walking to the beach to the railway station. It has been a lovely, very pleasant stay with Adrian and staff, always very kind, friendly and helpful providing their guests with all extras and information they could need.
Tips:Carbis Bay is wonderful at any season. The Green Apple is close to the Beach and best located for any travelling and sightseeing around St. Ives, Penzance, Hale etc. I would recommend to spend at least 5-7 days here.

Friendly. Clean. Would stay again. Dietary needs catered for, but non dairy yoghurt would be a bonus. Coffee was good. Wifi worked well. Flannel in the bathroom was nice. We think that shower gel would be a good addition although we were happy to buy our own. Great!
Tips:Porthminster beach cafe is an excellent restaurant. The suggestions in the B and B are worth following- we had a good meal at the nearby tapas/italian. Coastal walk to St Ives is relatively easy with good views- better than using the road. Buses are regular and useful rather than taking the car into StIves. The Tate and Barbara Hepworth are top visits. The harbour and the old town with narrow streets are atmospheric. Further afield we liked Mousehole

Tips:The b&b is situated at cardiacs bay, just outside of st ives. Walk down to cardiacs bay as it’s beautiful and there’s a coastal path to st ives. Landsend isn’t far and makes a great day out. We went at the end of our trip but discovered that they offer you a free pass to go back within 7 days. Was a great location, being so close to the train station. Very clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great and delicious. Adrian was very welcoming and helpful with directions and local knowledge. My only suggested improvement (very minor) would be if the shower was a bit more powerful, higher water pressure. But this is very specific and picky of me and didn't impact the overall experience at all.

Adrian, the owner couldn’t help us enough, gave us some brilliant recommendations for attractions and things to do, places to eat and drink and made us feel really welcome. Rooms were cosy and clean and breakfast was simple but with good choice and was very nice. Overall we had a great week and would definitely stay again!
Tips:Best restaurant we ate at was La Casita in Carbis bay, Spanish and Italian restaurant 300 yards from the B & B. For things to do would definitely recommend healeys cider farm (but next time we’ll do the factory tour) and the Minack theatre where For £5 you can tour the outdoor theatre built into the cliff face at Porthcurno and on a Sunday afternoon they do run throughs of the new show to start on the Monday night for the next week. For the best views, lizard point and St Michaels Mount are a must!

When on arrival greeted by the owner(Adrian) who made us feel very welcome & made us a pot of tea. Room was clean with a double & single bed,tea & coffee making facility's, en-suite bathroom & table for eating breakfast which was a nice touch! Breakfast was of a continental style with cheese, ham, tomatoes, crossiants, cereals,Juice etc so plenty to c hoose from! Would recommend anyone to stay as made very welcome & felt comfortable!
Tips:Would recommend the Atlantic bay for something more reasonable in price for something to eat or the Badger Inn @ lelant for good ales & reasonable priced & selection of food. Would recommend taking the bus(which runs regularly) to local places St Ives etc but not to far afield as entails alot of changes of buses!Nice walk down to Carbis Bay Beach but don't try to drive down as can be awkward & car park small & very expensive (£10!!!)

Refreshingly different decor. Delightful owner. Comfortable beds, and excellent bathroom facilities. Convenient for local beach, St Ives, and Coastal path. Good local restaurants within walking distance as were also a convenience store and post office. Teapots a speciality! Met some lovely people over breakfasts.Relaxed.
Tips:Go to La Casita for Spanish ambiance, Gannet Inn for more Brit style or the Bean Inn if you like vegetarian food. We visited Botallack for Poldark and tin/copper mines; Mullion Harbour and cliffs for coastal walk; Portheras Cove Beach for swimming and The Lizard peninsula for interest.

This is a lovely B & B in an ideal location. The guy who owns Green Apple is really nice much better than previous B & B I have stayed in. He provides a lovely breakfast and tea and coffee in the room which is always appreciated. The only downside for us was that it was very hot in the room and due to the outside noise it wasnt ideal to have the window open, so a small fan would have been a real benefit. Other than that you cant go wrong staying here.
Tips:Cardis Bay is way expensive for food and drink although we did have a lovely meal in the Italian just round the corner to the Green Apple. St Ives which you can easily get to on the coastal path in around 45 minutes has some lovely eateries which are still not cheap but cheaper than the local places.

Adrian is a great host and very friendly. The room was very clean and the bed very comfy medium/soft mattress. My only gripe would be the water pressure in the shower but it was manageable. Great location just outside St Ives (25 min walk with some lovely scenery) Medium sized Tesco 10 mins walk and late night shop 3 doors down. Good continental Breakfast and good wifi connection.
Tips:St Ives 25 min walk away or 5 min drive. Plenty of parking in the town. Parking available at side of B&B if you get there quick enough (space for 3 cars). Sea view from Gala room. Newquay is 40 mins away and Lands End around the same. Nice place to stay!

Warm and genuine welcome on arrival. My room was small but immaculate, and the whole place feels light and homely. Breakfast is continental only, but there is a great selection including fresh fruit. Parking can be tricky if you are arriving later in the day.

Tips:Don't go to Carbis Bay beach. The development work there has made it a truly horrendous experience, unless you're prepared to spend a lot of money in the restaurant or scramble down the rocks at the other end of the beach for an independent experience. Not recommended for anyone but the super rich or very hardy! Beautiful beach ruined by money grabbing hotel. Cornwall has many others which are a much more pleasant. Try Porthminster!

The attention to detail was delightful and welcome. The continental breakfast was more than addiquet. Adrian, the owner, was attentive and helpful. Go and see for yourself.

No fussing about by staff so you can get on with your stay. Local knowledge of area is good. Full refurb on property so all the sockets-taps-doors-tv's etc all work. My particular room was warm and inviting (was here in winter) with all I could need for a one night stay. As the dining area was open to the rest of the house I could get breakfast early before I started work (field service engineer) the morning I was leaving. Although price is not an issue (on expenses) the price was well below the area average, however this was not reflected in the service provided.

The place we stayed is great and my family and I enjoyed spending 3 nights at the Green Apple B&B. Adrian is extremely nice and friendly. Our room, Honeycrisp, was very clean. As a suggestion, it would be nice to have instant hot chocolate bags in the bedroom as well as the option for hot chocolate for breakfast (my wife does not drink coffee). Also, it would be nice to have apple juice included in the juice options for breakfast. These are just suggestions and did not spoiled at all our staying at Green Apple.
Tips:We have a 6 year old daughter, and decide to stay in Carbis Bay for most of the days, so she could enjoy the beach, instead of travelling to many places. We like the food and service at the Cornish Arms just about 0.5-1 mile from the B&B. There is also a Tesco superstore nearby which can be quite handy for quick trips to buy groceries.

Be careful when eating at the Shack by Carbis beach - they charge almost double when you 'eat in' and it isn't made clear when ordering. Beaches are stunning particularly Carbis Bay. If you're visiting with children make sure you make use of the Branch Line between St Ives and Carbis Bay they really enjoy the ride. Our first impression of the B&B was the welcoming and accommodating greeting on our arrival, very informative and helpful. The room exceeded our expectation as we liked the theme and decor as well as the layout, cleanliness and even had our own private entrance which was very convenient. Also the convenience of tea/coffee making facilities and WIFI. the room overall was very comfortable and luxurious. The breakfast was to our taste and provided a wide selection of continental buffet food although it might not be to everyone's taste and may put people off. The location of the B&B was pleasant, quiet and not too far from Carbis Bay beach. Only 1.5 miles from St'Ives either by local transportation or roadside/coastal path. Overall the B&B made our first stay in Cornwall a delightful experience and will definitely recommend it. A big thank you the owners on providing a great service.

A very friendly welcome and very comfortable stay. My room was very nicely appointed and I got a good night of sleep each night, followed by a good breakfast (great coffee in particular). Also, easy to park the car and within walking distance of a number of places to eat and drink.
Tips:Useful - the Costcutter and Post Office a few doors down on the same side of St Ives Road. Very well provisioned. There is a Tesco further up toward St Ives, just before the: Pub - the Cornish Arms is a short stroll up the road toward St Ives. Good food and ale. Restaurant - try the new Carbis Bay Hotel beach restaurant for either morning coffee or an evening meal. Very nice indeed and again within walking distance of the Green Apple. Coastal path - beautiful!

the place was really wonderful, it was warm, bright and cozy. the room was a good size for one person. the decor was really well thought out and every decision was taken with much care. the room had all the facilities one might require, great wifi, an abundance of tea and coffee making facilities, enough storage for clothes, shoes etc, a comfy bed and chair, a quaint alarm clock and even space for a writing table. the whole look and feel really tied well together. the place was very affordable and the service was exceptional. I will definitely be returning to carbs bay and staying at The Green Apple B & B
Tips:Becks - (great recommendation by Adrian, who runs the joint.) walk around, a lot quieter than st. ives, but just as beautiful. buses run frequently to st. ives and the bus stop is less than 5 mins away.

This quaint little B&B left me wanting for nothing and for the price, was a lot better than expected. The young couple running it are very nice and were very helpful with any questions we had or information we desired. The continental breakfast were a delight too. Situated just a 5-10 minute ride from St Ives which was ideal .
Tips:As far as restaurants go, none of the places we ate were bad. But if there were any that stood out for me it was Sea Food Cafe where there was a good selection of fresh seafood and very nice meals and The Rum and Crab Shack where I had a very tasty Crab, Tiger Prawn and Chorizo Jambalaya. I would also recommend taking a boat trip out to Seal Island or the Sea Safari where we were lucky to have had a pod of bottle nose Dolphins follow our boat!

Tips:The bus stop is just opposite that takes you directly into St Ives, this saves taking the car. There is a very good restaurant nearby called BECKS, home cooked food and very reasonable There is so much to see but you must try to visit the Minac Theatre (build into the cliff face). Lovely B&B located in Carbis Bay. The double room we had was on the small side, but it was very clean, well decorated and the bed was comfortable. The shower wasn't very powerful but the water was hot. For those who like a cooked breakfast, you will be disappointed, but for us the continental style breakfast was perfect. Food well layed out, plenty of choice and all the pastries tasted fresh. The owners were really pleasant and the B&B is in an ideal spot for exploring the area. Great for walking the coastal path and about a 30 - 40 minute walk into St Ives, again perfect for us.
Tips:Becks fish and chip shop / restaurant is in easy walking distance from the B&B. It is very popular and has a good reputation, and we can understand why. Best haddock and chips we have eaten. There is a reasonable sized Tesco with a costa's about a 10 minute walk away, and the Carbis Bay train into St Ives is no more than 5 minutes walk away and they run on a regular basis.

My boyfriend and I had a very enjoyable 3 night stay at Green Apple. We didn't choose to go down to St Ives for a holiday... we were attending a friend's wedding at Tregenna Castle and when selecting accommodation, this B&B was both perfectly located and in budget. We arrived to a very warm welcome from one of the hosts who gave us some excellent information about local amenities, transport etc. Our room was perfect - very kitsch and quirky with a very comfy bed. The bathroom was a little on the small side but this really didn't matter - it was spotless and had everything you needed. It was a continental breakfast... but nothing like any continental breakfast I have had before. Every cereal imaginable, little pastries, lots of condiments for toast, cheese, boiled eggs, seed mix, waffles... then juices, a whole plethora of teas, freshly brewed coffee... There were board games, lots of reading material for walks and things to do etc...maps... This is most definitely up there in my top 5 B&Bs in the UK!
Tips:After experiencing Carbis Bay and St Ives, I am delighted that we ended up staying in Carbis Bay. St Ives is extremely busy and touristy and it was nice to be in the chilled haven of Carbis Bay. The beach is lovely and there is a fabulous coastal path that you can run/ walk along towards either St Ives or Hayle. We ate at The Bean Inn on our first night there which I would also strongly recommend - gorgeous little veggie place. We are not veggies but were delighted with our meals. Very satisfying, healthy and a little bit different from the norm.

A great guest house with a friendly atmosphere. Our room (Honeycrisp) had a sea view and was attractively designed. The little chairs and small table in the bay window were a perfect place to collapse at the end of a hot day and watch the light go over the sea. Lovely! The bed was also very comfortable and the bathroom was airy. However, the sink was a little too high for people below the height, of say, 5'2" so it could be difficult for a child to use (a stool would be a good addition). The owners were friendly and accommodating and full of tips on where to go and what to do. The continental breakfast was good with plenty of toast, croissant and waffle combinations available.
Tips:Go to Carbis Bay beach - it's the nearest one and the only one that's blue flag. The Carbis Bay hotel looks after it rather than the council so it is in tip-top condition and is great for swimming. Walk the Coastal Path to St Ives and enjoy the sub-tropical flora fauna along the way and the wonderful views. Go to the Tate and go to Barbara Hepworth's house to see her sculptures. Food-wise, eat at the Seafood Cafe and the Porthminster Cafe on the beach - both provided fantastic food. Also, go to the Onshore restaurant on St Ives quayside. And, of course, have a cream tea. Our best one was in the Carbis Bay hotel conservatory overlooking the beach - really beautiful. Go to Blas for a great burger - smashing decor, music and service too.

You know it's going to be good when you press the door bell and Jack White sings "I've been thinking about my doorbell - when you gonna ring it?
Tips:Beck's Fish restaurant & takeaway just down the road to Hayle is terrific, also Casa Romano - Italian restaurant just as close going the other way towards St. Ives. You can drink and not need to drive!! Plenty to see in St. Ives, especially all the art galleries (wasn't that impressed with Tate) and the fabled 'light'.

WE HAD A GREAT STAY AT PENLEE AND WOULD GO BACK AGAIN AND WOULD RECOMMEND FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO STAY THERE.
Tips:GOOD RESTAURANTS NEARBY AND COUPLE OF PUBS NOT FAR EITHER WHERE YOU CAN GET GOOD FOOD. LOTS OF THINGS TO SEE AND DO QUITE NEAR.

A very good B+B with friendly and helpful owners, would definitely stay again.
Tips:Ideally situated for a pleasant walk into town. Best restaurants for us were along the sea front in St.Ives, they were all very good and not overpriced. If the weather is good then you have to walk into town the coastal path is fantastic. The only bad part about St. Ives in the centre is the parking. If you are going to drive into town then head to the long stay carpark at the train station, the other carparks are very busy.

We enjoyed our stay very much and appreciated all the facilities, the atmosphere and your friendly hospitality. The Granny Smith room was ideal for us, as we had our lively golden retriever Baxter with us.
Tips:Having a dog, it was useful to have a park immediately opposite. Porthkidney Beach was brill for Baxter.

Stayed one night for work - owners were welcoming and would happily stay again/recommend to others. Large selection of food for Continental Breakfast and well thought out. Location is ideal for those not wanting to stay in the busier St Ives with easy access to A30.
Tips:Would recommend using the nearby coastal path if venturing into St Ives - some great views across the coast and bays. Seafood Cafe Restaurant in St Ives has some great dishes!

Very beautiful B&B, in a wondeful position in Carbis Bay, near St Ives. Very good staff, and wonderful indipendent room "GrannySmith". A very various breakfast! Thank you very much. Simone Laura and Claudia
Tips:Our favourite restaurant is The Hain Line in St Ives. If you want a rapid but very good food our favourite take away is Pels in St Ives. There are so many wonderful things to see and do in Cornwall that it's impossible to write....

The owner Adrian was amazing. So friendly and very welcoming. Gave great advice on where to go. Breakfast was very good. A great selection available. The rooms were on the compact side but fresh airy and clean with everything you would need. Toilet flush was not very strong, had to repeatedly flush after using. Decor was very pretty, cute little details. Rooms regularly services. Parking available. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit to the area although we will bring our dog next time as dogs allowed :D Fantastic quaint little place. Great hosts. Thank you very much.
Tips:Beach just a few minutes walk although down a very steep pathway. Takes much longer to get back up. Bus stop just 100 yards away or so, leading to saint Ives centre, a little far to walk and up and down hills. Bus £1.60 per adult (each way). Local small cinema, numerous bars and restaurants. A local Italian is recommended but in our opinion a little expensive for basic food although a nice atmosphere. Would recommend the fire grill in a side street in saint Ives, best steak I've had. Fantastic Sunday lunch (carvery) at the lifeboat inn just as you walk past toilet area and first enter saint Ives sea front.

Penlee Bed & Breakfast is a lovely place to stay situated in the beautiful Carbis Bay, I'm so glad to have found you when I googled places to stay in St Ives. The room was well presented, comfortable and clean. The ensuite facilities were of the highest standard with heated towel rail, modern shower and light up mirror. We all loved the apple theme and the many inspirational & quirky quotations which were good to read during breakfast. The breakfast was enjoyable and fresh with plenty of choice and made a pleasant change to the usual full English offered by most B &B's. You should be very proud of your establishment, your attention to detail and hospitality really makes it somewhere special to stay, we wish you the best of luck for the future.
Tips:The local Italian restaurant was good, we ate there twice. Carbis bay beach is stunning and is very child friendly. The coastal path into St Ives was well worth the walk due to the fantastic views of the bay and surrounding area. If dining out in any of the restaurants in St Ives (especially on the sea front) make sure you book a table in advance or you risk walking about trying to find somewhere to eat as it gets very busy.

My husband, baby, and I just got home from a wonderful 3 night stay at the Penlee B&B! We went with 2 other couples and had a great time! I must first say that the owners went out of their way to ensure we had everything we needed! They greeted us right away & made us feel right at home! We requested the baby crib (travel cot) , and upon arrival it was set up in our room, and they even gave us a baby hooded towel for our son, which I thought was thoughtful! Breakfast was delicious! There were pastries, hard boiled eggs, lots of fruit, a variety of cereals, toast, waffles, tons of jams and spreads to choose from, cold meats & cheeses, yogurts, and plenty of drink choices (tea, coffee, milk, and juices). The decor was beautiful and cozy! The breakfast area was especially cute!! The location was fantastic!! There is a BEAUTIFUL beach within walking distance, as well as a delicious Italian restaurant (recommended by the owner)! There were other restaurants & stores nearby as well! I would highly recommend this B&B and hope to go back again for another visit!!
Tips:I can't remember the name of the restaurant, but there is an Italian restaurant just a couple blocks down from the B&B that was delicious!

It would be helpful if it was made clear when booking, that the name is changing to 'Green Apple'. I noticed that my deposit was taken from my bank a/c under the reference 'Green Apple St Ives' and at I couldn't place what it could be, and wondered whether my account had been hacked! After my stay, I realised how the money had been accounted for. But, if it's not already mentioned on your booking page, a brief mention wouldn't go amiss. Cheers.
Tips:The coastal path to St Ives as recommended was brilliant. You can also follow the footpath down to the beach (footpath is in direction of Atlantic, on opposite side of the road), which is very scenic.

a very beautiful b&b in the lovely Carbis Bay (30 min walk to St. Ives). The two owners are really friendly and try hard to make everybody's stay as confortable as possible. Breakfast Buffet is really good with lots of different items (e.g. waffles, hard eggs, cereals, croissants, juice). Definitely worth the price!
Tips:The Italian Restaurant next to the B&B is very good and not as exepensive as restuarants in St. Ives. Need to reserve a table since it is mostly quite busy. The Beach of Carbis Bay is much nicer than the one in St. Ives and not as crowded (looks almost as the caribbean sea)

Very nice accommodation close to all aminities, pleasant surroundings. Jess is a great host, nothing too much trouble, looked after all or needs and would highly recommend anyone looking for a short stay in the St Ives area to give this place a try.
Tips:It's only a 20 - 25 minute walk to St Ives, plenty to do and most if not all food tastes catered for. There is a Tesco's 5 mins walk away and if you are a coeliac there's a great fish & chip restaurant also 5. Mins walk away called Becks does great gluten free menu. When you get there park up and leave the keys in the room and get a bus pass (3 - 5 days) great service and great way to get about.
