23rd June 2024:

The studio had everything you need for one or two people. It was clean and nicely furnished. Easy access to the shops and busses in St Ives Town centre. Council run car park adjacent to the property making for easy parking. Tina and John were very welcoming and invaluable local knowledge

Tips:

Plenty of restaurants, bars and a handy Co-Op within walking distance. Centrally positioned, Sea St. Ives Appartments are ideal weather travelling by car or using the train.

The apartment was very clean with nice decor. Very small but ideal for two people when we were only really sleeping there.

Tips:

Don’t miss the Barbara Hepworth Museum. It is well worth a visit. And if you like a curry, the Rajpoot, which is a five minute walk away, is a must - but you need to book.

Superb apartment in a fab location. The information provided prior to our stay was very clear and Tina & John were fantastic hosts. A well equipped and serviced apartment, with off road parking and close to local amenities.

Tips:

There’s plenty to see and do in St Ives, lots of exploring to do around the town, local beaches, boat trip and I can highly recommend a trip to the Minack Theatre which was stunning.

Very warm and welcoming hosts. I appreciate the little touches that helped us plan our stay (the books, the milk and refreshments, the instructions in advance of the booking, the useful links were very helpful).

Tips:

Have a back up plan for when it rains! The cinema and galleries were good options, leisure centre if it's too cold to swim outdoors

Another superb stay at Atlantic View. This was our 3rd visit here & would always stay here when staying in St Ives for a great central location, indoor space, outdoor space & parking (a bonus). The owners are on site & always available if needed.

Tips:

Mermaid restaurant is superb but you must book well in advance. Raj Poot restaurant has the most delicious curries & have a BYOB policy. Beaches all within walking distances.

Excellent accommodation+excellent hosts.

Tips:

The two bedroom flat is up the stairs. A little difficult getting up if you have slight mobility Problems. I had to rely on my son to give me a hand going up & coming down. Perhaps extra hand rails would make it easier.

Tina and John are excellent hosts and are always on hand to help with any queries and advice on best places to eat and to visit.

Tips:

I would advise pre booking restaurants and pubs as we had difficulty getting tables for dinner, Although we visited during the music festival so it was quite busy. We found the Union on Fore Street had a varied menu with good service, also the Sloop is a great place to eat.

John and Tina were very accommodating, we arrived early, they allowed us to dropped bags off as the room wasn't ready. The room was spotless and clean, always had time to stop and chat while we were sat on the terrace enjoying a glass of wine.

Tips:

Book restaurants in advance, St Ives is really busy and you might not get in. Be prepared to walk, we were and enjoyed it, the car park next door gets full quickly and early we arrived at 10.00am and it was full, but the rugby club parking was perfect and there is a shuttle bus into beach area.

Thank you of your kind review, much appreciated. We offer free bag storage before and after stay to all guests as part of our check in service. Also, you can return after a day out on the weekly ticket and still get a space easily. Tina

Fast and helpful communication regarding everything neccessary

Tips:

- the local loop bus is very convenient and brings you everywhere on the peninula (Minnack theatre, Land's End, St. Michael's Mount etc.) while you discover the beautiful landscape all around, a day ticket costs only 5£ (First Bus) - a great place for art lovers is the Barbara Hepworth museum and garden (former atelier), as well as the Leach pottery

The apartment is lovely, clean and tidy and everything you could possibly need. Location superb minutes away to walk for centre. The garden patio is wonderful, you will feel as if you are abroad whilst sitting out enjoying the splendid views of St Ives. Tina and John are so accommodating, wonderful hosts.

Tips:

Book early for restaurants as they are often fully booked. We found a lovely roof top bar around the corner from The Sloop, perfect sun trap and slightly sheltered from the coastal breeze. St Ives is a wonderful place to visit.

Our first holiday for a while and we had a great time! Atlantic View is a lovely apartment with stunning views across St.Ives to the harbour. We had changeable weather but the apartment was a warm, comfortable place sit and watch all the harbour activity and the ever changing sea view. Everything was beautifully clean and well managed by Tina and John, who are welcoming and make the whole booking and arrival process very easy. Highly recommended, we hope to visit again!

Tips:

We had a lovely meal at Cafe Pasta on the harbour front, but be sure to book. Great walking along the coastal path from Porthmeor beach towards Land's End. A visit to the Lifeboat Station to see the impressive Shannon class lifeboat is very worthwhile.

19th September 2021:

The hosts communucated well by providing helpful information and answering queries promptly. There was a slight issue with the shower ( water not hot at all with a drip from the overnead shower) and TV remote did not work otherwise the room was well equipped and clean.

Tips:

Pack light if travelling in on train as steep climb to the accommodatiom and be aware if you have limited mobility due to steep steps when going to and from the beach, town to the accommodation. I would recommend the bus trip to Lands End on the Lands End Coaster. The fish and chips at Coast on the seafront was good and much cheaper than the restaurants. Rajpoot Induan restaurant was a disappointment.

Everything was perfect. Thanks. Location excellent. Views amazing. No complaints xxx If I had one comment which isn’t a complaint. Maybe needs some blackout curtains over the blinds as (for me personally) wife and kids were fine ha. As It got little to light in the bed rooms early at sunrise. 5 o clock ish… But that’s just me. I like a dark room. But overall couldn’t of wished for the whole stay to be any better. See you next year. Take care. Thanks

Tips:

The Thai tapas restaurant on the front is a must. Jumping off the harbour at high tide was so much fun. Hire or take a paddle board, relaxing, exercise and we seen loads of seals. Trip to seal island on the fast rib boat was Awsome. St Michael’s mount The pizza van on pier dies amazing stone baked pizzas.

Tina and John are lovely hosts. The accomodation we stayed in is called Atlantic view. Lovely apartment for a couple. Good value for weeks stay, fair price for Cornwall. Nice terrace. One improvement would be replacing freeview with Sky, as tv sometimes scrambled some channels. Would defo stay again

Tips:

Restaurant bookings were a challenge mainly due to covid and its restrictions on numbers. Hopefully this will improve. But try and book in advance. Our fav was The Loft for ecening meal. Curry house, Rajpoot was decent, good service. Visted Firehouse grill house, but they had no rottiserie chicken which was strange as it is their signature meal. Beaches are loveky, liked Porthmeir best, as there is a quiet end, but it still has a cafe.

Only met very briefly due to Covid restrictions. Very good comms before travel. However, phoned both mobile numbers on arrival as couldn’t find address but no reply from either. No mention prior to arrival of steep steps to get to Lighthouse Watch, not suitable for those with mobility problems. A street map would have been a nice touch.

Tips:

Many restaurants were either closed or full due to covid/covid restrictions. Book in advance if at all possible. Also, most do not offer gluten free options. Would recommend quieter beach areas away from the Harbour. We travelled by train and stayed in St Ives for our 3 day stay but the train is very good for visiting nearby areas. Book ahead for galleries too eg The Tate and Barbara Hepworth and beware restaurants and attractions closed without notice due to rising covid infections and staff having to self isolate. Try and visit the artists quarter behind the Tate. Get a map from the Library. Bringing a car into St Ives would be very stressful as the streets are very narrow

Lovely apartment within easy walking distance of the town and harbour in St Ives. We only met Tina but spoke to John on the phone and they are both so friendly and helpful and will even give you advice on places to eat or visit in the area. A real home from home, where you could come and go as you pleased. Amazing views from the lounge sofa of the harbour and Godrevy lighthouse and the terrace was a wonderful place to relax in the sun, where you could enjoy an even better view. There is also a parking bay with this accommodation right outside the property, which is rare in St Ives where parking can be very difficult, especially in the peak weeks of the Season (we stayed the last week in August). Will definitely come back here to stay, we had a wonderful holiday, it certainly ticks all our boxes.

Tips:

Book your restaurants as soon after booking your apartment if travelling in the peak weeks, as it can be very difficult to get a table during the peak weeks. The restaurants are all very good in St Ives (ask Tina for her very helpful list). There are great walks to be had and stunning beaches and scenery. We loved Carbis Bay and the steam train. We also recommend a day trip to the Scilly Isles. We took a flight from Lands End as it only takes 15 minutes to get there. A much cheaper option is by boat, but this takes 2 hours 45 mins each way and can be very rough with many people being seasick apparently.

Thank you for a great stay. It was so nice coming back after along walk to your lovely terrace with stunning views and enjoying a bottle of wine before walking out to dinner. We had lovely time. One very small recommendation is to put a thinner quilt on the bed during the summer months as we found it far too hot especially with the additional washable cover needed for COVID.

Tips:

Definitely book a parking space with the owners as you don't need your car in St Ives as the town and beaches are accessible from the apartments. The train is also great value if you want to walk along the coastal path to Carbis Bay or Lelant and then train back.

Tina and John were wonderful hosts. We stayed in Harbours Rest and it’s bigger than it looks in the pictures. Enjoyed the terrace on the sunny evenings. They had thought of everything and was nicely surprised to find the room had towels, hair dryer, shampoo, etc. Felt comfortable stopping after lockdown as the hosts had taken all necessary steps. The only downside was the car parking, we had to park off site which was a small walk away and had some issues but they were resolved quickly.

Tips:

Sea food cafe, the beach and porthminster kitchen were great restaurants. Just make sure to book in advance. Loved the local beaches but also visited sennen cove, lands end and carbis bay. St ives surf school is a must! We are adult beginners and had a blast.

Apartment was very nice and so were the hosts when we had a little chat, Was given early access to the home. Very clean and tidy with all the bits and bobs need for cooking and chilling. Views were fantastic from the window and patio area. Bed was super soft and got very good sleep. only stayed a few days and not the planned week but feel the place is perfect for the town of St Ives as its a 10 minute walk to the beach. Car parking space a super bonus for the area.

Tips:

A 10 minute walk to all the shops, take outs and beach. Just watch the hill on the way back if you have enjoyed a pint or two.

5th May 2019:

John and Tina are a superb couple and always friendly and welcoming. If you have any questions or queries they couldn't be more helpful. They have an abundance of local knowledge which they are more than happy to share when asked. You couldn't wish for two nicer people. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending them to anyone who wants to visit StIves

Tips:

The Sloop Inn is a must and the Pilchard Press a bar that serves mainly hand pulled beers and local ciders. For food we enjoy the Firehouse Bar and Grill food is excellent and the staff are friendly. If you haven't already visited Kynance Cove it is another must, with beautiful scenery and good coastal walking in both directions although the one to the Lizard is easier.

The owner was extremely friendly, accommodative and lively lady. She goes out of her way to welcome and accommodate all the guests. The location itself is very attractive giving the guests lovely view of the sea while sitting outside in the balcony. The apartments are decorated to the highest standards. As far as visiting again is concerned we would highly recommend the apartments and also intend to revisit again.

Tips:

Local amenities are at walking distance and the main High street is literally 5 minutes away. Town center has a variety to offer in terms of good restaurants. Sea front is further 5 minutes walk and is a great place to walk and relax. ( Weather Dependant)

Bus available up the hill for £1.20 pp or taxi £3.50. Will definitely stay here again one day! Thank you

9th August 2018:

Tina and John are really lovely and nothing is too much trouble for them. Their Friendliness made us feel like we had gained new friends. The house is fantastic, everything you could possibly wish for. John was there to meet us when we arrived and told us about good places to eat and visit. We used the Hot tub every day, fantastic. The location of the house is fantastic and the views from the house are wonderful and so near the shops and restaurants. We are so lucky to have the opportunity to stay there and cannot wait to go back.

Tips:

Amazing shops and restaurants. The Rum and Crab Shack is an experience, the Soft shell crab in Tempura Batter is a must and the cocktails are 2 for £10 between 3 and 6 p.m. You can get a bus to Penzance from the bus station and does not take too long to get there, you can jump off at St Michaels Mount too. Also there is a trip on a Wednesday to Truro which is worth a visit, only £6 , bus leaves at 10 a.m. from the Coop near the Cinema, and if they have space you can just pay on the bus, otherwise call into the travel shop near the queens hotel and book it there.

That's fabulous, it was lovely to meet you and so glad you all enjoyed your stay. The Rum and Crab Shack is one of our favourites too. It's worth noting there is another one in Exeter and they run various deals on Groupon regularly. I love the Mussels, chips and drink option for 2/4 people or the Meat/Seafood platter from £19. Of course, St Ives has so many fabulous restaurants you can be spoilt for choice. Look forward to hearing from you again, Tina & John
