4th August 2022:
Count House Cottage is an exceptionally clean and well-appointed B&B. The proprietor is extremely friendly and takes great care in ensuring guests are happy at all times. The rooms are spotless with very comfortable beds and bathroom suites that appear to have been fitted very recently. The breakfast is excellent- the very enjoyable full-English breakfast is preceded by fresh strawberries and yoghurt with plenty of tea, coffee and toast. The standards of cleanliness and service throughout are excellent. The proprietor is able to provide genuine and useful advice about local amenities. Count House Cottage is a high-class establishment where guests are able to feel relaxed and enjoy superb customer service.
Tips:We were advised by the proprietor to book restaurants in advance (we were also given some recommendations by her). This proved to be very good advice as it was difficult to book restaurants in St. Ives and Carbis Bay whilst we were staying. There is an excellent fish and chip restaurant in Carbis Bay- Beck's. This restaurant does not require booking, serves superb fish and chips (gluten-free and other dietary requirements are well catered for) and also has other options in the menu. Beck's is clearly popular with local residents as well as holidaymakers- despite the restaurant being very busy each time we visited, we never had to wait more than 10 minuted for a table. Count House Cottage has a bus stop situated at the front off the property where there are frequent buses to and from St Ives. Carbis Bay railway station is nearby although the walk is rather hilly- downhill to the station and uphill on the return. With Carbis Bay. St. Ives, Hayle and Gwithian Sands beaches to choose from, those wishing to spend time on the beach have plenty of options. Carbis Bay is within one hour of Lizard, Porthcurno (Minnack Theatre), Land's End within half-an-hour of Penzance.

This is our 5th stay at Count House Cottage and received a very warm welcome from Christine. As usual the room was exceptionally clean and a wonderful view over Carbis Bay could be seen from the bedroom window.A nice touch was a complimentary box of Cornish fudge left for us on the table. Thank you for a most enjoyable stay.
Tips:As with most other popular holiday resorts that get very crowded in the holiday season it is always preferable to book restaurants beforehand. There are many restaurants near to Carbis Bay and recommended are the Watermill and The Old Quay House in Lelant and also Becks Fish & Chip restaurant on the main road in Carbis Bay just a two minute drive from the B&B.

Ideal situation with parking facilities which is a must in St Ives. Geoff and Christine are perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble. Very friendly, relaxed atmosphere. We would highly recommend staying here.
Tips:Book restaurants well in advance as you could be limited to what time you can eat at. A lot of restaurants are not taking bookings, so you will need to queue. You need to be prepared for lots of hills, so good walking shoes are a must.

Lovely B&B with very clean rooms and tastefully decorated. The bedroom had a fantastic sea view and was provided with all the usual facilities.Excellent parking with space for five cars. The breakfasts were excellent and most special dietary requirements could be catered for.
Tips:As parking in St. Ives is very restricted a good tip is to use the Trenwith car park and take the shuttle bus into the town centre. The Watermill restaurant in nearby Lelant provides good quality food at very reasonable prices and Becks fish and chip restaurant is only a short distance away providing a spacious car park and a varied menu other than fish and chips.

Christine is a lovely host, really welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. She has great local knowledge which was so useful to us because we were only there for a short break. The property is in a stunning location and has great off the road parking facilities. The decor throughout was beautiful and our room was very attractively decorated both luxurious and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent, beautifully presented and tailored to our tastes. I would definitely stay again and recommend it to others.
Tips:There is an excellent bus service which is accessed directly opposite the property with regular buses to St Ives and other local areas. There is also access to two open top buses which are hop on hop off you can use to travel all across the Cornish coast as far Lands End and the other way to Newquay. Christine gave us details an we didn’t need use the car at all during the stay. The buses are very competitively priced so we saved on petrol and parking and saw so much more of the area than we could have done driving. St Ives and Carbis Bay are within easy walking distance and there is lovely coastal path to both There are some great restaurants and pubs close by but due to the overwhelming demand at the moment it’s best to book in advance where you can. We did manage to find somewhere to eat but it we had to try several places before we could get in and then it was just luck that we got there just as a table opened up. Many were booked up until the end of the month and some until September. Attractions were exactly the same, we wanted to visit the Minack theatre but every tour slot was taken up for the few days we were there and other attractions needed to be booked at least a couple of days in advance.

Very friendly, warm welcome. Nothing seemed too much trouble to make the stay a great time. COVID friendly, but still accommodating. Lovely room, and a nice breakfast area, . Well presented place, and ideally situated just 1 mile from St. Ives, and central for all other places. Bus stop right opposite making travel easy.
Tips:At present, you would need to book to eat due to COVID, but the first night, you just visit where you want to eat and then book ready for the rest of the week.

You couldn’t ask for anymore at the Count House B&B, the room is a good size and very clean accompanied with a great shower in the bathroom, the property also has ample parking. Christine is a fantastic host and very attentive with helpful local suggestion for places to go and where to eat, Geoff’s breakfast is well and truly first class. The owners of the property Christine and Geoff are the most friendliest and helpful people you could meet. They made our stay very memorable with the little touches they left in the room. Room I stayed in had a sea view and waking up to that every morning, all I can say is WOW!! Breakfast room is set out very well with two settings for guests so no one clashes. There is a very good selection of food to have for breakfast, the cooked breakfast comes out very hot and I would recommend the croissant, mmm.
Tips:The B&B is within easy reach of everything, if you wanted to drive or take the bus. Bus stop is just outside the property! St Ives is in easy walking distance as is Carbis Bay Beach and all I can say is the beaches in St Ives and surrounding area are better than going aboard in my opinion. Lands End, Penzance, Falmouth and other attractions are easy to get to. Restaurants and the pub in Carbis Bay are very close by and reasonable priced and there are many more in St Ives itself.

Our hosts, Christine and Geoff, work tirelessly to make sure your stay is perfect, and it was. The room was lovely, with a very comfortable bed and a gorgeous sea view. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented. Christine’s local knowledge was great for finding fabulous walks (and afternoon tea). A great location too, with St Ives harbour just a mile away. You’re definitely our number 1 x
Tips:The Cornish Arms is very close by (5min walk),and they do good food. La Casita, Spanish and Mediterranean, was definitely my favourite restaurant, the food was delicious. Parking anywhere is difficult, I recommend walking everywhere instead, if you are able to, take some good walking shoes and enjoy the stunning views. The Tinners (Arms?) was wonderful, all tables inside were booked, but it was warm enough to sit outside and the views were fantastic. They have a very tame Robin in the beer garden, who enjoyed a bit of cheese! Walking some of the coastal paths is a must. Absolutely amazing views THE most delicious afternoon tea was found at the Lakeside Cabin Cafe. Enjoy every minute of your stay x

Tips:Definitely recommend La casita in Carbis Bay . Seafood cafe in St ives and Porthminster Beach cafe all were extremely high standard .Would avoid Carbis Bay Hotel beautiful view but extremely expensive and poor quality food ! This b&b is spotlessly clean throughout. The owners have gone to great lengths to provide a stay as comfortable & relaxing as is possible. 5 rooms in total. Our room was lovely, good size with beautiful decor & little touches. Blackout blinds, lush carpet, comfortable bed & good size shower with proper pressure! Breakfast really good as well & the owners Christine & Geoff deserve a lot of credit for their vision & bringing this place up to a standard that will be hard to find elsewhere.
Tips:Just try as many places as possible! Godrevy lighthouse & beach is well worth a look. Lands end is a must. St Michael's mount is only 15mn away but book well in advance! Other then that the 2 main beaches in st ives itself or carbis bay area should be visited especially the beach in st ives which is full of restaurants, other places to eat & drink & some nice little shops located on the cobbled side streets.

Tips:Plenty of walks on your doorstep, walk the coastal path into St. Ives or catch the bus or the train. I have made a small comment about it being exposed when you are getting ready or coming out of the bathroom as you have to pull down the dark blinds rather than have curtain to retain the light and keep privacy but I'm sure it's not an issue for other guests. Thank you so much!
Tips:La Casita is really close and whilst pricey is good but please make sure you book in advance. Becks Fish & Chips looks good too but we didn't have time to go. Carbis Bay Beach is a nice way to spend time but is a bit of a walk from the car park and an even steeper one back. St Ives is lovely and we went to the Lifeboat Inn which was a little crowded due to rain but good food nonetheless. I would visit again outside of school season as it was a little too busy at times.

We absolutely loved everything about our stay with Helen and Neil at Count House Cottage. The B&B was beautiful and we had a great view of the sea from our fabulous room. All facilities were great and breakfast was divine every morning. Helen and Neil themselves were amazing hosts and did all they could to help out, as well as noticing a Birthday and leaving a card and gift of their own. Other little touches such as having the bus stop right at the end of the cottage and having their own little drinks fridge in the breakfast room were nice little touches. We would definitely stay at Count House Cottage again and can only hope it won’t be to long!
Tips:We absolutely loved St Ives the speedboat experience and trip to seal island are definitely worth it. Whilst in St Ives we ate in the Firehouse bar and restaurant which was gorgeous and an amazing find in Carbis bay itself was La Casita, beautiful food and amazing service!

Very welcoming, informative and hospitable owners - Neil and Helen - we saw amazing places we never new about and would never have found without them. This was the best B&B we have ever stayed in - true five star luxury from the room layout and facilities to quality of bedding, furnishings and breakfast. Very clean and modern accommodation. Only request would be a fan in the room to keep cool at night. A full 5 stars from us
Tips:There is so much to do and see near by a side from some of the best beaches in the UK - just ask Helen what to do and where to go off the beaten track.

Nothing was too much trouble for Neil & Helen, the house was spotless, we tried to find fault but it was impossible. The breakfasts were immense, the rooms were beautiful, very comfortable and loved the sweets along with the complimentary tea/coffee/Water. Giving away hampers if you book directly was a lovely touch, cannot wait to come back x
Tips:We only stayed 2 nights for a wedding so we didn't really go out and see the area, but we did go home via the Minack Theatre, def worth a visit. It was only a 20 minute walk downhill into St Ives where there were lots of good restaurants & bars, the Rum and Crab shack is a must!!

House has been fully upgraded and provides first class facilities for a small B&B. Superb breakfasts, with a great range of cereals, fresh fruit / juices, yoghurts and cooked options. We had room 4, and whilst at the back of the house, is a lovely large room, king size bed and seating area with a sofa. Nice extra touches of bottled water, sweets, toffees and a welcome Cornish hamper of goodies as we booked direct. Hosts Neil and Helen were very attentive. Good range of teas and coffee in room.
Tips:A good location to explore both Carbis Bay and St Ives, and on foot albeit are hills to climb. Coast Path accessible from here. We love eating at La Casita, a Spanish/ Italian restaurant at the other end of Carbis Bay. Cornish Arms only a 5 minute walk and does good pub grub. Car park onsite, and recommend using the train to travel in the local area. Lovely views across the Bay from the train which runs along the coastline.

This is the second time that we have stayed at this beautiful B&B, the rooms are fabulous and those at the front of the house offer fantastic sea views. Helen and Neal are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them. They made us very welcome and offer the choice of either continental or full English breakfasts. There is adequate car parking space for several cars which is a real boon. Will definitely stay at this B&B again when we next re visit Cornwall.
Tips:Very handy for visiting St. Ives which is only five minutes away by car. Would recommend parking the car in the long stay car park at the Leisure Centre and catching the Park & Ride bus into the town centre. There are plenty of restaurants within a mile of the B&B with plenty of choices from a Spanish Tapas bar to a traditional Fish & Chip restaurant. A Tesco supermarket is only a five minute walk away.

Helen and Neil go the extra mile to make your stay very enjoyable. They provide so many extras which are totally unexpected but very much appreciated. This B&B is one in a million!

Hosts are very friendly and helpful. They know the area well and can give advice about places to go and things to see and do. Rooms are clean and freshened daily and there are plenty of supplies of drinks and nibbles. We had lovely views of the sea from our room, a room that is decorated and finished to a high standard, like the rest of the premises. Breakfast had a good variety of fresh produce and the hosts serve this efficiently and to your requirements. The cooked breakfast is delicious. We received a hamper which contained lots of locally sourced treats. I liked the idea of the local produce. A well placed establishment, finely run, by a friendly couple.
Tips:Cornish arms is a good traditional pub with nice and reasonably priced homemade food. There is a local fish and chip shop. You can eat in or take away, but be warned; the portions are huge but tasty! We like to walk and the area is full of walking routes. The hosts can tell you about different walks. Walks are signposted generally well but some way-marks and posts are not clear. I would advise to have a good old fashioned map with you. Phone signals can be lost in valleys and small villages. If you’re a good strong walker the costal path to Zennor is worth a look. And if you like reflexology, quite literally around the back of the B&B is a lovely lady called Maria who is vey good and intuitive and can offer a reflexology session for a very reasonable price. Booking is required and the hosts can give you the details.

We had a lovely quiet 2 night stay here beginning of January. The owners were both lovely and friendly. The B and B was beautiful. So clean and modern. The bed was so comfortable and the shower was one of the best we have used. All in all we couldn’t have wished for a better place to stay. Attention to detail was brilliant. To finish, the breakfast lived up to the expectations of the rest of the establishment. Nothing was too much trouble for either of the hosts. Helen and Neil were lovely, friendly, genuine people. The accommodation was clean, fresh and very tastefully done. Breakfast was excellent and always hot. Free car parking space for guests.
Tips:Count House cottage is in a quieter area of St Ives away from the hustle and bustle. This is great because St Ives centre is still extremely accessible. There is a bus which stops right outside the B and B which takes about 6 mins into St Ives. There is also a lovely coastal path close by but not suitable for the less able bodied. Having said that, I have 2 knee replacements and I managed it. A short walk away was The Gannet Inn where we had a lovely meal or you can just go in for a relaxing drink.

Count House Cottage is very new and superbly decorated in a relaxed style. The room we stayed was very comfortable, with a range of teas, coffees, chocolates, biscuits. The hosts were most hospitable, and shared with us tips for visiting nearby St Ives and other locations. The accommodation exudes modernity, with ample parking.
Tips:Buses stop near the accommodation. We also tried the memorable train ride to St Ives via Carbis Bay station, a pleasant 15 mins walk away. The property offers everything a tourist needs, and compares favourably with the grossly overpriced self-catering accommodation found closer to Carbis Bay.

Neil and Helen are the nicest people you could meet they bend over backwards for their guests. The room was very clean there’s a good view of the sea from the room and facilities in the room was great. Me and my partner really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely be returning.
Tips:It’s a 15 min walk to the beach local pubs and restaurants and two minute walk to the bus stop and Tesco’s is a five minute walk away. Everything is close by so no need to drive you can leave your car and enjoy a nice walk from the b&b.

Owners are fantastic! Incredibly friendly and accommodating. We had a wedding at Carbis Bay Hotel and the weather had been sunny with random showers thus didn't want to walk it just in case, even though it's a short walk. Owner gave us a lift down in his own car!

Warm and friendly hosts in Neil and Helen, very helpful and good tips on places to go. Lovely spacious room with view and had everything needed, even hair straightener!! Good range of options for breakfast. Found it hard to leave, felt like leaving good friends behind. Enjoyed it all.
Tips:Bus stop to St Ives right out front. Walking distance to a pub, serves meals. Fish, Italian restaurants also close by. Carbis bay walk down hill across road also with cafe restaurant on front of beach. Walk to St Ives about 20 minutes or so, great views on way down. Boat trips available, see seals, dolphins, bird life. Variety of pubs cafes etc, good shops for gifts to wander in and out of.. Well worth trip and stay at Count House Cottage.

24th July 2018:
This was our second visit to Count House Cottage after enjoying our first stay here last year. Everything was as good as we remembered. We stayed in room 2, which as always was spotlessly clean and has everything you need. We had a sea view, and a lovely bay window area to sit in to read and enjoy the view. The breakfasts are delicious, and the choice, especially of fresh fruit is the best we have seen anywhere. Helen and Neil go out of their way to help from Neil carrying your luggage to Helen’s advice on the best beaches or places to eat. They are both always positive and friendly and genuinely welcome guests to their home. There is always laughter at breakfast time as they chat to their guests. It feels like a home from home and we hope to come back each year and would fully recommend this guest house to everyone.
Tips:There is a vegetarian restaurant The Bean Inn within walking distance of Count House Cottage. The meals are delicious and although neither of us are vegetarians, we ate there twice. It is a small place and is very popular so I would book in advance. We also tried La Casita which again is within walking distance and would recommend it for the lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious food. The beautiful beaches are too numerous to mention but our favourite was Porthminster beach which is within walking distance and has a lovely beach bar and restaurant.

22nd July 2018:
A top quality establishment. Owners Helen and Neil were amazing, their attention to detail is second to none. The bedrooms are large and airy. Extremely clean and the facilities are modern. Breakfast is of a very high standard and lots of choice from fresh fruit and yoghurts to a full English, using quality , local produce. Location wise , it is a short walk into St Ives but has a bustop, right outside, should you fancy a ride into town. There is, also, plenty of parking for cars at the property itself which is a big plus as parking in St Ives can be a devil to find. A real home from home and a shame to leave..
Tips:St Ives is a lovely town to visit. You are spoilt for choice for places to eat and drink. I would recommend The Seafood Cafe to eat, fresh fish and seafood. Good prices and you choose from a selection of fresh fish, from the counter display. Also ,if you fancy great gin and tonics, The Silco Searoom makes fantastic ones, from local St Ives gin. It has tasty tapas too. This is located on the harbour front and has views over looking the waterfront. For lighter bites, try the Cornish Deli. Fresh Cornish produce and extremely good coffee. The Cellar Bistro is another place worth a mention, walk along the shopping area and keep a look out for the sign. Food and service is of a high standard. It has special deals between 6 pm and 7 pm.

Overall stay was perfect from arrival to our departure. Count House cottage was decorated throughout beautifully. Our room which was No4 was spacious and quite, loved the fluffy towels with robes, and the shower's was to die for. Helen and Neil put on a good breakfast of fruit, yogurts and cereals each morning, and then with followed by either a full English breakfast or whatever you had picked the night before of the breakfast request menu to get you started for the day ahead. Both was very helpful on where to go and visit with ideas on where to eat.
Tips:If you now where you would like to eat before you arrive book up in advance as the as we had to book in for the Sea food cafe as this was always busy.

Helen and Neil are lovely people and so very welcoming They have done amazing renovations and the end result is a credit to all their hard work, we enjoyed our stay and walked down to St Ives which is very picturesque, if you don’t want to walk there is a bus out the front and you can also get a train, would definitely recommend staying there without any hesitation, our room was lovely with nice touches like lollies and chocolates. Very comfortable B and B, room was a good size and modern en suite. Helen and Neil made us really welcome, their breakfasts are perfect, nothing is too much trouble. The house has recently been refurbished and is spotless throughout. Good choice of tea and coffee in the room and wine glasses provided should you decide to bring your own wine to enjoy. Nice to have a view of the sea whilst relaxing in our room. There is an honesty box with soft and alcoholic drinks available in the dining area. We will go to Carbis Bay again just so we can stay in Count House Cottage.
Tips:Bus stop just outside Count House. Pub called The Cornish Arms close by where we enjoyed a good meal, plus La Casita in Trencrom Lane which had a good choice of menu and served tasty food. We also went to The Badger Inn which is a short drive away in Levant, again good food. Quiz night is Tuesday, you pay £1per head for a good cause and the pub gives you a free drink, not sure what the alcohol choice is as we had coffee. The short train ride which runs from St Ives to St Erth is well worth doing, there is a stop at Carbis Bay. The coastal scenery on this route is not to be missed.

Helen and Neil were the perfect hosts, helpful, informative and welcoming. We were made to feel at home in their lovely house. Helen, even gave us daily weather updates, which were more accurate than the BBC.' The rain will disappear by eleven and it will be sunny until 4/5.... uncannily accurate. We thoroughly recommend the Count Cottage House..it sets the bench mark, by which all B&Bs will be rated in future. Excellent.
Tips:Minnack theatre.. a visit is a must. The Harbour Fish Restaurant for the freshest tastiest and delicious food. The Beach restaurant Porthmeon is a must, especially watching the sunset from a heated outdoor Pod, the food was pretty good too. This was our first visit to St. Ives, but it certainly will not be our last

Could not fault this accommodation in any way from the moment we arrived till we left. A brilliantly restored cottage, modernised to the highest standard by the charming hosts. Every facility you would expect and more in each of the five bedrooms. Breakfast was perfect including gluten free options ideally located with St Ives within walking distance or by bus passing the door. Thank you Helen and Neil for a perfect three night break. Good parking as well.
Tips:We ate each evening at the local Cornish Arms pub which has a good menu of both pub grub or tasty specials. Walk into St Ives where parking will be very tricky in the summer along the coast path with the excellent Porthminster Beach Cafe to greet you. We had lunch at PELS on the sea front...small but great food and excellent choice of menu for a small place. Lots of other West Cornwall attractions within easy driving distance.

This was the Best B&Q we have ever stayed, by far! Helen and Neil are wonderful hosts, nothing is too much trouble for them, always prepared to help, give directions or offer any other advice and their breakfast is delicious and very filling. Their B&B is very modern and recently refurbished to a very high standard. Their rooms are absolutely spotless and very comfortable, with many additional extras, such as hair straighteners, Netflix on TV, tea, coffee and biscuits that get filled up every day - anything you could ever need on a holiday. Because we booked directly, we have also received free Cornish hamper full of goodies - a very pleasant surprise for us. If possible, we would come back here every weekend!
Tips:This B&B is in a very good location, you can either catch a bus from bus stop that is right in front of the house or walk through coast path to St.Ives which would only take around 20 minutes. There are many restaurants, either in Carbis Bay or in St.Ives and lots of things to see, Minack Theatre is beautiful (only 40 minutes drive).

Excellent B&B recently refurbished. Clean, modern and delightful. The owners were helpful, friendly and informative about the west Cornwall area. Bus stop immediately outside the door and only a couple of stops into St. Ives. Nice coast walk from the house as an alternative to the bus. Room and ensuite were well appointed and owners left a few sweet treats! The owners offered individual cooked breakfast to order and food was well cooked and nicely presented. We wish we had stayed a few days more and are keen to return to this lovely area.
Tips:Within easy walking distance from the B&B was a pub (The Cornish Arms), a vegetarian restaurant and an upmarket but reasonably priced hotel grill & bar (Gannet Inn). The pub was nothing special and offered standard pub fare. The hotel grill and bar were modern and the service, food and ambience were all good. There are of course plenty of restaurant and pub options in St. Ives itself. The highlights of our short break were 1/ revisiting the Leach Pottery just outside St. Ives and 2/ the drive up to a windswept Godrevy lighthouse (15 mins) to watch the surfing, diving seabirds and to see the colony of seals basking on a secluded beach.

The attention to detail did not go unnoticed or unappreciated, this truly is a luxury B & B. The modern bedroom and bathroom were beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was better than what we have had in hotels charging twice the price! Our hosts were very welcoming and accommodating, we will definitely be staying again. Loved our weekend away, thank you xx
Tips:We used A1 taxies over the weekend, they were great and we will use them next time. Costs was around £5, definitely worth it as parking is at a premium in St Ives! We ate at The Captains Table and Seafood Café, both were lovely, you will need to book even in the winter though as they get busy and a lot of restaurants in St Ives close over the winter. Recommend the Phipps Pasties in Hayle or Annes Pasties from the Deli in St Ives.

A very enjoyable weekend stay with very very friendly hosts who couldn't do enough to please. Breakfast was first class with a choice of fresh fruits, cereals, yogurts and full English fry up. The bedroom was spotless and was very classily furnished as was the whole building. The shower was superb. amazingly a free airport transfer is offered which is a first for me. Unbelievable!!!!! We will most definitely be visiting again.
Tips:St Ives is a must to visit with its fabulous views and enjoyable walk around the town. Be warned that parking can be difficult especially in the summer months.

Outstanding ...nothing was too much trouble. Amazing standard of rooms &breakfasts. A huge amount of thought and effort has gone into this accommodation. Probably the best quality b&b I have stayed in.
Tips:Bus stops right outside so use it or a taxi rather than drive into St. Ives, which is not great for vehicles. The coastal path is still a delight. If you fancy the train into St Ives then it's best to do it that direction as its a bit of a trek from Carbis Bay Station to the Count House. Becks is a must for great Fish and Chips, the portions are huge so maybe order a small...a great menu and helpful staff.

We were extremely pleased with our stay, although the Count House is not actually in St.Ives there is a bus stop right by the property that for less a couple pounds will take you right to the town center in a few minutes. No problem dealing with traffic and parking. Neal and Helen have refurbished the building and everything is perfect. The breakfast was top notch. A special touch was fresh fruit in the morning. We will definitely stay here again.
Tips:There is a local pub called the Cornish Arms within walking distance, 1/4 mile, that has good food and a decent selection of ales.

23rd October 2017:
Neil and Helen were so welcoming and obviously proud of their B&B. Count House Cottage was sparkling clean with high-quality better and super-soft fluffy towels. There were so many little extras that made us smile, such as the mints and marshmallows, choice of teas in the room, hair straighteners as well as a dryer and bottled water. The breakfast was superb with such a choice of items. All in all we had a wonderful stay and cannot recommend Count House Cottage B&B enough. Thank you Neil and Helen.
Tips:1.Walk into St Ives (or catch the bus from outside the B&B) and meander around the shops and galleries. Too many eateries to mention. 2. A trip to St Michael's Mount at Marazion - check tide times. 3. Mousehole - if only to find out more behind the story of The Mousehole Cat. 4. Sennen Cove (almost Land's End but less touristy and a super sandy beach) 5. Watergate Bay (just near Newquay and SO much better, wonderful sandy beach) 6. Mutton Cove and Gwithian Beach for the seals. 7. Carbis Bay itself - just lovely. 8. Porthmeor Beach (in St Ives) and the lively café opposite the Tate. 9. Becks Fish and Chips - simply delicious and a great atmosphere.

From when we arrived to leaving Neil and Helen were brilliant. The accommadation was spotlessly clean, shower in bathroom is everything you want easy to use and water always hot. Breakfast has so much choice and cooked to our requirements. It has a homely feel about it and some lovely little touches.
Tips:The Cornish Arms is a little pub about 5 minutes walk and the food is well worth trying, lots of choice and reasonably priced. Coastal Walks with amazing views. St Ives is just a few minutes away with lovely shops and bay.

Really enjoyed our stay as room was bright, comfortable and clean. Liked the decor and soft furnishings. Made to feel welcome and enjoyed chatting to the owners. A good choice at breakfast time with alternative milks, fresh fruit and dried, yogurts etc
Tips:Access to path across the road that joins coastal path and can get St lives, train station and Carbis bay easily. Nice walk passing Porthminster beach and cafes on way to St Ives. Fresh cooked fish and chips at wet fish shop on seafront. Lovely food and spa at Carbis bay hotel. Or use the bus, stops outside, to travel into St Ives as parking difficult in town.

Helen and Neil were very welcoming hosts and their generous hospitality made sure we had a very enjoyable stay in their beautifully renovated home.Rooms were tastefully decorated and immaculately clean. We stayed in Room 3 which had a bay window with seating and gave us a lovely sea view.A well stocked hospitality tray eg tea, coffee, bottled water, biscuits and sweets was replenished daily.Excellent choice at breakfast e.g. Cereals, granola, fresh fruit, yogurt and a very tasty cooked breakfast again with plenty of choice. Neil and Helen were always on hand to give us recommendations on where to visit and eat.and we would highly recommend this B and B for anyone visiting St Ives, and for us we particularly enjoyed the location i.e. Carbis Bay as it meant we could enjoy the hustle and bustle of St Ives and then go back to the comfort and relaxation of Count House.
Tips:Excellent location with bus stop right outside the house or the option to walk into St Ives on nearby coastal path ( takes approx 20 mins). We ate at the Cornish Arms (10 min walk )on two occasions and both times the food was very good quality pub food.Caffee Pasta and Blas Burger located on St Ives Harbour also highly recommended.Excellent location for visiting surrounding villages and beaches

Booked a week here to celebrate what was our upcoming Ruby anniversary, so glad we did.Great location, about a mile from St Ives .Carbis bay beach down a steep road opposite, but well worth the effort, Neil and Helen the owners go the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, nothing is to much trouble. This B n B really is Quality from the rooms, attention to detail, location and host and hostess . Don't look anywhere else just book ,it you won't regret your decision.
Tips:Cornish arms 5 mins walk down road, good for pub grub, but I advise you to book as it can get busy.Becks fish, and chips about a mile away also excellent ,no need to book here, just might have to wait for table.Sea food cafe in St Ives great fish restaurant ,and reasonable prices for quality fish dishes. In June, we spent a fantastic week at the Count House Cottage. Neil and Helen are the perfect hosts, helpful and are knowledgeable of the local area. It is furnished to a very high standard, homely, comfortable and spotless. There is a great selection of fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt's followed by a well presented and tasty full English breakfast. There is ample private parking and a bus stop straight outside giving good access to wherever you wish to go in the area. We used this regularly. What a wonderful surprise. Helen and Neil have done an amazing job of restoring this property and it shows. They were the perfect hosts and went above and beyond our expectations, nothing was too much trouble for them. My husband is coeliac and Helen was amazing in making sure that he was treated like a king. We were very comfortable and didn't want to leave. I would definitely highly recommend this place if you want to be spoilt.
Tips:St. Ives is a beautiful fishing village. Accommodation is only a few minutes away by bus, car or train, bus stop right outside the property. Lots of maritime history, would have liked to see the museum but unfortunately it was closed on a Sunday, which is unusual as there were so many tourists in town and would have been an ideal day. A walk up to the Abbey is recommended as the view is amazing.

What a lovely friendly place to arrive at - from being picked up from the local train station to the beautifully furnished house, both guest and breakfast rooms. A lovely outlook across the immaculate garden over the bay towards Hayle and Carbis Bay beach just a few minutes walk away. Helen and Neil couldn't have been kinder and their breakfasts and freshly ground coffee was superb. I wish them every success with this venture.
Tips:The Bean vegetarian restaurant, 2 doors east was lovely - fully licensed too with lots of local ingredients, ciders and beers. The Digey Food Rooms in St Ives, the Mermoon ice cream, made locally in Zennor in The Wharf and of course the Tate in St Ives and Leach Pottery. The Allottment shop in Fore St and Thursday Farmers Market in the Guildhall for Cornish cheeses and REAL homemade pies and pasties. I would also suggest a walk up onto the moors and nature reserve behind Count House Cottage to see the Knill Monument, recently restored by the World Monument Fund

A lovely and comfortable stay hosted by a friendly couple. No kids accommodation was refreshing. Breakfast was delicious. Nothing was unnecessarily fancy, but it still felt a treat. Everything was satisfactory. Highly recommend.
Tips:If you are travelling by train, the hotel is only a 10 minutes walk from Carbis Bay station (though a steep walk up!). Lovely walks to St Ives as well as Lelant with plenty to feast your eyes on - the sea, local art shops, museums, cafes, and even cliffs if you're feeling adventurous!

25th February 2017:
Overall this is probably the best B & B we have stayed in. The location is very good with a very regular bus service to St Ives. Adequate parking within the grounds of Count House Cottage. Extremely comfortable; our room was large with plenty of cupboard space and very quiet. Exceptional extras such as biscuits, coffee sachets, hot chocolate, sweets and toiletries in the room. Tastefully decorated and very comfortable large bed. Excellent breakfast. Owners suitably attentive. Very, very clean. Lovely stay.
Tips:We thorougly enjoyed two meals in the Seafood Cafe in St Ives. The atmostsphere and food were very good, the waitresses lovely. Advise booking as it was very busy on weekdays (during February)and choosing your table away from the counter. Lots of art galleries are hidden away in St Ives.

Just spent 3 nights at this Gem of a B&B. Helen and Neil have really put a lot of thought and hard work into this newly refurbished B&B. The bedroom was quite spacious and comfortable with special attention given to the detail regarding the room furnishings. The King size bed was very comfortable and the en-suite was again well designed, presented and spotlessly clean. The added extras provided daily, example, bottled water, selection of teas, coffee, drinking chocolate etc., along with the bathroom toiletries was a nice touch, making the experience a real home from home. The breakfast was fabulous with a selection of cereals, fruit, yogurts etc. as well as a very tasty and presented cooked breakfast. Helen and Neil are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble in ensuring you have a very pleasant stay. The Count House offers good parking facilities on site and is in a great position for getting around St Ives and surrounding area and beaches. We look forward to returning soon and highly recommend this B& B to family and others. Many thanks to Helen and Neil and we wish you every success for the future.
Tips:The Watermill Pub in Lelant offers good food and reasonable prices.

21st September 2016:
We visited The Count House with my parents to celebrate their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary in September 2016. We booked our 2 night stay even before Neil and Helen had officially opened following the complete refurbishment of the building. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay, we could have paid a lot lot more for a lot lot less. The minute I drove onto the drive way I could tell this was going to be a quality establishment. The building has been completely refurbished with such care, the building hasn’t been compromised by trying to cram in the maximum bedrooms possible. Book now! Look no further, you won’t be disappointed I promise you. I think as word spreads The Count House will book up very quickly in the future. Neil and Helen are just fantastic, such hard workers, a real dream team, the perfect hosting couple, they make the Count House what it is, we had such a warm welcome even though we arrived well before check in time, we were welcomed in for coffee while our room was prepared. My parents struggle with mobility at times but Neil and Helen looked after them with such care there was nothing that was too much trouble, they were the best host’s we have ever encountered during our travels thank you so much. The B&B’s location is just perfect, it’s a quiet location out of the hustle and bustle of the town but it’s just a short inexpensive bus ride into St Ives, the bus is the perfect mode of transport for getting into St Ives Town, car parking is quite difficult and very limited in the town, we tried parking the car in St Ives on the first day, bit of a mistake, we ended up in the middle of what looked like a pedestrianized only area. The buses are very frequent and can be caught just outside of the B&B. The attention to detail and quality at The Count House is just stunning. The breakfast offering was fantastic, I sampled the full English breakfast, it was delicious, the produce is locally sourced and chosen with such care and passion, cooked to perfection and served with a passion to match, Helen was very proud telling us where the produce was sourced from and why, eating local produce that’s sustainable has become so important to a lot of travellers these days. The bedrooms are immaculately clean and spacey with oodles of quality storage for the most well equipped traveller. I would challenge anyone to find fault, again the attention to detail is fantastic, the rooms are very well appointed. The hospitality tray in the room was top notch, no skimping on the amount of milk here, no nipping to reception for milk top-ups, there was plenty of tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a selection of scrummy Border biscuits, note of warning, be careful with the complimentary jar of marshmallows they are just too scrummy the jar keeps calling you back for more. All the fixtures and fittings Neil and Helen have chosen for the rooms are quality from the filter kettle through to the bedding. The rooms are a quiet luxurious haven to recharge your batteries ready for another day of exploration. The windows are fitted with blackout blinds so a good night is guaranteed, these little touches make all the difference. The room has plenty of spare power sockets for phone and tablet recharging something most rooms these days seem to lack. The ensuite bathroom was stunning, beautifully appointed with a huge full size shower such a welcome change from the usual B&B flimsy caravan style box showers where bending is only possible for a contortionist. The toiletry products were very good quality, everything you could have possibly wanted was there to hand. The Count House oozes a passion to provide a top quality B&B experience, it manages this in bucket loads and exceeds expectations. We would like to thank Neil and Helen for making our parents stay so special and memorable in every way, we wish you every success for the future and hope to visit again one day, with you hosting The Count House success is assured. We left The Count House Cottage B&B with not just a new holiday location but with new special friends. Kindest Regards Mark, Caroline Quartermain from Bristol x
Tips:The stunning Carbis bay beach is a short albeit steep walk that’s not for the faint hearted or for people with mobility problems. The beach is simply stunning almost tropical in looks, the sand is so soft and the beach is impeccably clean. To reach the beach just follow the road directly opposite the B&B, this leads to a foot path which is quite steep, just follow your nose to the beach and enjoy.

We have been visiting St. Ives for many years & this is the best in town as far as we are concerned. Everything in this newly renovated & substantial B&B is excellent with an eye to detail. Beautifully fitted rooms, excellent decor, breakfasts to die for, ample parking on site and the owners are a delight with nothing too much trouble. We will not be going anywhere else in the future (and we come down about 3 times a year! Helen & Neil are the owners and handle every aspect themselves.
Tips:St. Andrews Bistro is off the main line, but offers excellent dining from an interesting menu - well worth a visit! Ace Cars for a first class taxi service 01736 794004. Travel by train to Lelant Saltings & walk back along the Coastal Path. A good 5 mile walk, with a few steep paths and a long walk over Porthkidney Beach - an excellent appetiser!
