Everything about the vicarage is lovely, I cannot fault it. 👍
Tips:Make sure you pre-book restaurants in St ives before you go, the Loft and Porthminster beach cafe are a must. If you decide to walk to Zennor via the coastal route stop off at the tinners arms for a crab sandwich😍

You have a pleasant and opminded service. You made our super late check-in possible, of which we are so very gratefull. And we enjoyed our short chats with staff and husbond very much. You run the most clean but yet original B&B hotel. And we felt "at home" upon arrival. We will recommend "The old Vicarage" to anyone going to St. Ives.
Tips:Very easy access with car, which was so helpfull in getting to and from St. Ives, and use The Old Vicarage as a hub touring the rest of west Cornwall. Just a short drive go for a 45 min walk up Rosewall hill and experience the magnificient view. Remember to visit the Barbara Hepworth museum and sculpture garden and take your afternoon Cornish cream tea in the nearby church garden with a view of the harbour.

Walking down the drive to The Old Vicarage is like entering a more gracious, leisured world. The big garden is lush and well-tended and the spacious, panelled entrance hall gives a warm welcome. The staff are friendly and helpful, there's a high standard of cleanliness and the breakfast includes home-made food. There is plenty of parking space. We have stayed there quite a few times and would warmly recommend it.
Tips:A drive along the coastal road B3306 is a must for us, and we always visit the gastropub The Gurnard's Head just beyond Zennor. If you walk into St Ives it's easy to find a taxi back.

We found the Old Vicarage to be exactly what we were looking for which was a homely, quaint and inviting B&B. The location was good for us and we enjoyed the fact that it was away from the tourist centre and a quiet place to retire to at the end of the day. We loved the little client bar and enjoyed sitting in this delightful room filled with character and treasured momentos. We enjoyed the beautifully cooked and prepared breakfast and found Amanda too be very friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is that we live in Australia and could not visit more regularly. Thank you Dianne I hope you continue to run the Old Vicarage into the future it really is a gem! Rosemary & Rob.

Superb choice for breakfast, individually cooked to your liking. Lounge and honesty bar at guests disposal. Car parking. My 3rd stay there but hopefully not my last.
Tips:Situated on the outskirts at the top of St.Ives near to Bernard Leach pottery. About 15-20 mins walk down into town or down to Porthmeor beach and the Tate gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum. Easy access to the beautiful coastal route to St Just and Lands End but be prepared for narrow winding roads and a leisurely drive, not a speedy one. In short - "AMAZING" ! You could not wish to meet any more friendly people, Dianne, Martin & Jack - You should be very proud of yourselves - The Old Vicarage is a real gem ! It is not just an Hotel - It is so much more - It is nothing short of amazing ! - Beautiful, Stunning and remarkable ! "A real home from home" feeling from check in to check out. Dianne & Martin you are truly amazing hosts with excellent customer care skills - Friendly, polite & professional - Put simply "You are the best" Now I have to pay a special mention fto "Amanda" - Wow what a genuine nice person you are - Dedicated to ensuring your guests are well looked after at all times, Again you could not wish to meet a better person, "Your genuine, polite, Friendly & Professional caring ways" - Help to ensure guests are made to feel welcome and at home during their stay. - You are an asset to the Old Vicarage & both Julie & I (Barrie) - Would like to say "A VERY BIG - THANK - YOU" - For your dedication & Friendly & Polite manner in which you deliver "Excellent service with a smile" - At all times ! Dianne, Martin, Jack & Amanda - We "THANK - YOU ALL" - For all your care and dedication and for looking after us during our "Only too short stay" - At the Old Vicarage - "It really was very much appreciated" We don't have any dates yet, But look forward to planning our return stay to the Old Vicarage at the earliest possible opportunity !
Tips:See as much as you can Do as much as you can - (Or as little as you can !) Eat, Drink & Be merry Plan your return visit to St Ives - As soon as you can But do your selves a favour - Return to the Old Vicarage - As often as you can ! See the usual visitor attractions and resorts, Support local people and businesses & Make the most of local transport services to explore every where and experience the beauty of Cornwall - With out the hassle of trying to find a parking space when you get there (Because unless you get there before breakfast - You may struggle during the summer months) Plan ahead if you want to make the most of your time in Cornwall - But spend as much time in St Ives as you can - Because it really is the "Jewel in the crown of Cornwall" (In our un biassed opinion !) If you really want to experience a truly unique holiday ? - Personally we think - You could not miss the opportunity of spending some quality time exploring the Isles of Scilly - But first of all spend some time in St Ives - Then visit the Isles of Scilly - But on your return to Cornwall spend more quality time in St Ives to finish off your holiday. (Not sure if the Isles of Scilly are right for you ? - Well why not visit on a "Day Trip" during your holiday) - If you enjoy a less hectic way of life and enjoy a quiet way of life with time to unwind and relax or walking or bird watching - Or simply wish to enjoy Island hopping by boat ? - Then we think you will really enjoy the experience of Scilly life - But if you enjoy the frills of "City life" with all the madness of crowds and pushing and shoving ? - But still wish to visit near by Islands with a sub tropical climate with out commitment to booking a few days staying there - Then may be you would benefit from taking advantage of visiting Scilly on a day trip basis ? Before this difficult age of "Covid" - We have never experienced any difficulty in booking to eat any where - HOWEVER :- Sadly this year that all seems to have changed (So now our advice would be "Plan & Book in advance" - Or you may not be able to obtain a table reservation ?) A VERY BIG "THANKS" - TO DIANNE & MARTIN @ the OLD VICARAGE - FOR SUPPLYING A LIST WITH DETAILS - Prior to arriving - "It really made the world of difference" & Was very much much appreciated indeed !

Great location, in a lovely, historical building. The owners and staff were very attentive to us and other people staying at The Old Vicarage, keen to make us very welcome and comfortable. The choices given for breakfast included homemade yogurt, fresh fruit, homemade jam and local honey, with cooked options including vegetarian, but all from local produce, beautifully cooked by Dianne.
Tips:The town centre and beach are within a twenty minute walk, (mainly downhill), or there's a local bus (£1.50 one way) to take you there. We found St.Ives very busy of an evening (late July) when trying to find somewhere to eat, so either book a table or drive out to a less busy area! Loads of places to visit and things to do, catering for all interests.

The Old Vicarage is a lovely home with beautiful gardens. Close enough to the town center to get to everything but away from the narrow streets and crowds. It's easy to get to and easy to park at. The room was comfortable and immaculately clean. And when I had a question about an item in the rook at 10 PM, the proprietor was available and cheerful about helping out. Breakfast was both bountiful and delicious. A real treat. We'd stay again -- and longer next time!

A 4 for location only because the Old Vicarage is at the top of a hill, which is tough going after a day of coastal walking! A fantastic place, beautiful and comfortable, and easy to reach places worth visiting in that art of Cornwall. Diane and Martin are kind and warm and happy for to help when needed. We arrived with a small problem with the car bumper. By the time we returned to the hotel after a walk around in town, about a couple of hours, Martin has fixed it. And it was a help, not a chargeable service. That really started our short break on a great note. Thank you. The cat is friendly, too.

We have been staying at the Old Vicarage for the past 31 years. It has kept its wonderful old world charm through all that time. The bedrooms are lovely and warm and very comfortable and the traditional Cornish breakfast is excellent. Our hosts always make us feel very special and welcome and getting away to the Old Vicarage is one of our yearly treats.

This was for my wife’s 65 birthday as we had last visited many many years ago. Everything was fabulous from the warm welcome on arrival to departure from Martin supplying us with an atlas to the wonderfully cooked breakfast by Dianne plus a lovely honesty bar - a lot of the hotel chains could learn such a lot from here Bedroom was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom - how you got all that in a small space amazed me and the toiletries were lovely. Hopefully we will be back sooner rather than later

Such a friendly welcome and relaxed surroundings. Breakfast was the best I've ever tasted at a B&B. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very old fashioned and quaint bedroom with perhaps a bit too many clashing patterns for some, reminded me of sleeping at my nans as a child, which wasn't a bad memory, far from it, but may not be to everyone's taste. Access to St Ives a walk down the hill, plenty of taxis waiting to bring you bavk at the end of the night if you dont fancy the 20ish min walk, reasonably priced and regular too.

Dianne and Martin were so welcoming and helpful, they clearly love their home and grounds. Peter was super attentive at breakfast. We felt at home from the minute we arrived which was great. We were in Room 5 with views over the garden, we loved the décor and really beautiful bedding, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom was well equipped with toiletries and the blue and white Victorian toilet was so unusual. The breakfasts and packed lunches were excellent. We were only here for 3 nights but would have stayed longer and hope to return in the future.
Tips:Cliff top walks are lovely. The Seafood café in St Ives is well worth a visit, there is an excellent range of fresh fish as well as pork, chicken or steak. A visit to the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Gardens is a must. If you are able to time your visit to a guided 'tour' then do so it brings everything to life. This is a small garden but so much to see and very tranquil. If you want a good beach with plenty of space for all try Carbis Bay a short drive or train journey away. The Eden Project is about 90 mins away, expensive for a family and a long day particularly for the old or young - Take a packed lunch. The Lost Gardens of Heligan is supposed to be brilliant but we didn't have time to visit. The Old Vicarage is a fair walk uphill from the town. The walk into town is pleasant but do take a taxi (£5) or bus (£2) back - we did walk back once, it is steeper than you think and our legs ached for days!

Really delicious breakfast, very friendly homely feel. Comfortable beds!
Tips:Lots to see and do in St Ives, bit of a long steep walk back up the hill, but there are taxis outside the cinema if you're feeling lazy!

Lovely warm and friendly reception on arrival by Dianne. Grand old building, full of interesting features with large, private parking area. Grand breakfast room in which were served a good choice of breakfasts - very tasty too! Bedroom was clean, tidy and comfortable.
Tips:Walk along the rugged Cornish coast to spot seals, birds of prey and then back to the beautiful sandy beaches with turquoise waves rolling in. Go back in time walking through the old town and have a drink beside the harbor. We particularly liked the Seafood Cafe for evening dinner. Great short stay.

A beautiful house, a real home from home. Lovely welcome, superb breakfast, we will certainly stay here again on our next visit.
Tips:As we arrived in St Ives earlier than anticipated we parked at Lelant Saltlands and caught the train into town. Lovely views right along the coast, not having to drive into town was also a bonus! Ate at "The Seafood Cafe" which was excellent. Walked part of the coastal path, quite a challenging section but stunning scenery.

Lovely Edwardian ambience but with modern facilities.....a lovely place to stay with a great commodious bedroom room and also a lovely lounge and dining room. The breakfasts are excellent with a great choice and the service friendly and efficient. Certainly a place to re-visit and enjoy.
Tips:My main tip is there is so much to see and so much to enjoy at all levels you will love every minute.

Dianne and staff helpful, friendly, unobtrusive but there if needed. They make you feel welcome. The breakfasts are wonderful and a good choice of menu. The house itself is very interesting with attention to detail.
Tips:Fair walk into centre of St Ives but steep walk back. Old Vicarage is a good location for driving to and parking, which is a plus for the location as it is difficult to drive and park in the centre of St Ives. Location good for driving out to other areas. St Ives itself has plenty to see and do with many places to eat.

Very welcoming and relaxed feeling--we were made to feel at home. Excellent cooked breakfast--wide choice and very well cooked. Rooms spotless and beds very comfortable. 4 for location due to long walk uphill from the town, otherwise quiet area and pleasant garden. E-mail communication prior to arrival helpful and very thoughtful.
Tips:We enjoyed two meals at The Queen--Sunday lunch being very good. Also enjoyed a meal at the restaurent on the sea front at Porthmeor beach where they were especially good with young children. Service and food very good at both venues. Booking ahead is worth doing, and is essential at the Fish Cafe.

Pleasant and atmospheric place to stay. Homemade food was delicious. Only fault was hot tap in my sink didn't work (I used the kettle) - other than that small thing - splendid.
Tips:Walk into town suited us for the exercise (there is a bus though)

We were delighted with The Old Vicarage. A quiet location with space to sit outside in tree lined gardens. Ample parking space allowing freedom to leave your car behind and so not have to battle for parking in St Ives centre. All rooms were clean and tidy, the staff friendly, helpful and available. The breakfast was magnificent with a wide choice available to suit all, set you up for the day. The location is about 15 to 20 minutes walk down hill into St Ives, but there is ample local transport e.g bus from the Rugby club 200 metres away (£1) also local taxis available at reasonable prices. Do the walking if your able.
Tips:There are many local restaurants to visit, depends on your taste. Would recommend Blas Burger normally a first come first served small restaurant specialising in great burgers, brill. For something special Porthminster Kitchen, excellent food and service with good views over the harbour. Lots to choose fromin St Ives, for large parties 6 and over suggest do your homework and try and book a few weeks before you travel.

Great choices for breakfast. Wonderful fruit.
Tips:The Alba was a great choice for dinner on the harbour in St. Ives. Reservations are a must. An authentic country pub is Gurnard's Head. Good choice.

A very friendly welcome and relaxing few days in a beautiful well kept old house. The victorian decor and gardens are clean and well kept and the honesty bar was a welcome surprise. The full breakfast was of high quality and the service excellent. Would not hesitate to recommend or book again.

Our room was spacious and clean and we enjoyed the generous and tasty breakfasts. The location was a bit of a walk from town, but it allowed for excellent parking and a quiet place to stay. We did not mind the walk as it was scenic and allowed us to walk our dinner off in the evening!
Tips:Be prepared for a bit of a walk into town and to the beach area. It is fairly steep. but is a nice bit of exercise if you like a walk. Also, it is a fairly cheap cab ride if you don't want to walk.
