The Inn is at the top of the hill so it is a long way up from the main part of town if walking. Best to be fit. We are and did not mind the climb but others may need to rely on busses/taxis.

You have a pleasant and opminded service. You made our super late check-in possible, of which we are so very gratefull. And we enjoyed our short chats with staff and husbond very much. You run the most clean but yet original B&B hotel. And we felt "at home" upon arrival. We will recommend "The old Vicarage" to anyone going to St. Ives.

Very easy access with car, which was so helpfull in getting to and from St. Ives, and use The Old Vicarage as a hub touring the rest of west Cornwall. Just a short drive go for a 45 min walk up Rosewall hill and experience the magnificient view. Remember to visit the Barbara Hepworth museum and sculpture garden and take your afternoon Cornish cream tea in the nearby church garden with a view of the harbour.

Walking down the drive to The Old Vicarage is like entering a more gracious, leisured world. The big garden is lush and well-tended and the spacious, panelled entrance hall gives a warm welcome. The staff are friendly and helpful, there's a high standard of cleanliness and the breakfast includes home-made food. There is plenty of parking space. We have stayed there quite a few times and would warmly recommend it.

A drive along the coastal road B3306 is a must for us, and we always visit the gastropub The Gurnard's Head just beyond Zennor. If you walk into St Ives it's easy to find a taxi back.

We found the Old Vicarage to be exactly what we were looking for which was a homely, quaint and inviting B&B. The location was good for us and we enjoyed the fact that it was away from the tourist centre and a quiet place to retire to at the end of the day. We loved the little client bar and enjoyed sitting in this delightful room filled with character and treasured momentos. We enjoyed the beautifully cooked and prepared breakfast and found Amanda too be very friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is that we live in Australia and could not visit more regularly. Thank you Dianne I hope you continue to run the Old Vicarage into the future it really is a gem! Rosemary & Rob.

We were very grateful that you could find us a room at such short notice. The hotel is in a beautiful building but is slightly out of town. The owner was very friendly and helpful and recommended the sunset at Porthmeor Beach Cafe which was a highlight of our trip! Breakfast was lovely - especially the home made granola.

Easy to find and ample parking space. Arrived at night after a long drive and was greeted warmly by Dianne. Room decor was beautiful, bed was super comfortable and outside was quiet, heavenly! Very homely, comfortable bed in spotlessly clean room and bathroom. Excellent selection of refreshments..tea, coffee, hot chocolate etc.in room With fridge for guests use in the dining room. Superb choice for breakfast, individually cooked to your liking. Lounge and honesty bar at guests disposal. Car parking. My 3rd stay there but hopefully not my last.

Situated on the outskirts at the top of St.Ives near to Bernard Leach pottery. About 15-20 mins walk down into town or down to Porthmeor beach and the Tate gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum. Easy access to the beautiful coastal route to St Just and Lands End but be prepared for narrow winding roads and a leisurely drive, not a speedy one. Can recommend the Sunday carvery at the Quay House at Hayle.

Eat, Drink & Be merry Plan your return visit to St Ives - As soon as you can But do your selves a favour - Return to the Old Vicarage - As often as you can ! See the usual visitor attractions and resorts, Support local people and businesses & Make the most of local transport services to explore every where and experience the beauty of Cornwall - With out the hassle of trying to find a parking space when you get there (Because unless you get there before breakfast - You may struggle during the summer months) Plan ahead if you want to make the most of your time in Cornwall - But spend as much time in St Ives as you can - Because it really is the "Jewel in the crown of Cornwall" (In our un biassed opinion !) If you really want to experience a truly unique holiday ? - Personally we think - You could not miss the opportunity of spending some quality time exploring the Isles of Scilly - But first of all spend some time in St Ives - Then visit the Isles of Scilly - But on your return to Cornwall spend more quality time in St Ives to finish off your holiday. (Not sure if the Isles of Scilly are right for you ? - Well why not visit on a "Day Trip" during your holiday) - If you enjoy a less hectic way of life and enjoy a quiet way of life with time to unwind and relax or walking or bird watching - Or simply wish to enjoy Island hopping by boat ? - Then we think you will really enjoy the experience of Scilly life - But if you enjoy the frills of "City life" with all the madness of crowds and pushing and shoving ? - But still wish to visit near by Islands with a sub tropical climate with out commitment to booking a few days staying there - Then may be you would benefit from taking advantage of visiting Scilly on a day trip basis ? Before this difficult age of "Covid" - We have never experienced any difficulty in booking to eat any where - HOWEVER :- Sadly this year that all seems to have changed (So now our advice would be "Plan & Book in advance" - Or you may not be able to obtain a table reservation ?) We were family of 3 adults and had very nice stay for 3 nights.This house is in a quiet location not far from the town centre and beaches. Room was nice with tea/coffee and biscuits. Lovely cooked breakfast options to start your day.Town centre and beach is around 15 minutes walk. Taxi from town centre cost around £5 if this is preferred and there are buses also. The house itself is quite beautiful and we were welcomed by Dianne who showed us all the facilities.

The Old Vicarage is a very beautiful Victorian House decorated in an authentic Victorian style (no horrid, cheap furniture). Diane and her staff were very helpful and friendly. There is a bar so I was able to enjoy a cold beer in the garden. Lovely breakfast. The gardens are surrounded by big trees which give shade and privacy. The private parking is invaluable and the house is a short walk downhill into St Ives which means you can enjoy the town and then retreat from the high season tourism.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Old Vicarage. Thank you for our warm welcome despite arriving much earlier than predicted! Room was ready within 10 minutes. The family room was perfect for me and my two teenage sons, - clean and comfortable beds. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and set us up for the day! The Old Vicarage felt like a peaceful haven in busy St Ives.

Porthminster beach and Portmeor beaches were our favourites, shallow waters and clean sand.

Had a very comfortable stay. Room was lovely, bright, airy and with plenty of space. Very comfortable beds. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. They had good Covid 19 procedures in place and everything was very clean. Food was plentiful and nicely cooked. Good value for money.

Slightly odd location tucked away in a housing estate but don’t let that put you off. There was a shuttle bus to town and Tate from the rugby club, only couple of minutes walk from Old Vicarage. About 20 min walk into town which is pretty steep on the return.

Great location, in a lovely, historical building. The owners and staff were very attentive to us and other people staying at The Old Vicarage, keen to make us very welcome and comfortable. The choices given for breakfast included homemade yogurt, fresh fruit, homemade jam and local honey, with cooked options including vegetarian, but all from local produce, beautifully cooked by Dianne.

The town centre and beach are within a twenty minute walk, (mainly downhill), or there's a local bus (£1.50 one way) to take you there. We found St.Ives very busy of an evening (late July) when trying to find somewhere to eat, so either book a table or drive out to a less busy area! Loads of places to visit and things to do, catering for all interests.

The Old Vicarage is a lovely home with beautiful gardens. Close enough to the town center to get to everything but away from the narrow streets and crowds. It's easy to get to and easy to park at. The room was comfortable and immaculately clean. And when I had a question about an item in the rook at 10 PM, the proprietor was available and cheerful about helping out. Breakfast was both bountiful and delicious. A real treat. We'd stay again -- and longer next time!

A 4 for location only because the Old Vicarage is at the top of a hill, which is tough going after a day of coastal walking! But the owners really know their visitors..radox waiting by the bath to ease the aches from the wonderful walks direct from the house. The breakfasts are wonderful and they are happy to do a pack lunch if you'd like.

Best B&B we stayed in while in England this trip. Breakfast was great, service was excellent and Dianne went out of her way to make our stay enjoyable, even to the extend of doing a bit of laundry for us. Thank you.

A fantastic place, beautiful and comfortable, and easy to reach places worth visiting in that art of Cornwall. Diane and Martin are kind and warm and happy for to help when needed. We arrived with a small problem with the car bumper. By the time we returned to the hotel after a walk around in town, about a couple of hours, Martin has fixed it. And it was a help, not a chargeable service. That really started our short break on a great note. Thank you. The cat is friendly, too.

Don’t drive in town. Streets are narrow even for bikes.

Superb! a Shangri-La décor etc all in keeping with the building added to the atmosphere. The hosting was first rate with a detailed orientation on arrival and the charm and attention to detail was present throughout our stay. Great breakfasts! We will certainly recommend to friends.

Beach restaurant was fantastic. The restaurant is right on the harbour side and offered to book the taxi when we finished. You will need this because the road back to the Old Vicarage is long and quite steep.

We have been staying at the Old Vicarage for the past 31 years. It has kept its wonderful old world charm through all that time. The bedrooms are lovely and warm and very comfortable and the traditional Cornish breakfast is excellent. Our hosts always make us feel very special and welcome and getting away to the Old Vicarage is one of our yearly treats.

You need to concentrate a little bit to find the road up to the Old Vicarage - Parc-an-Creet is an ordinary suburban road and the entrance to the hotel is tricky to find on your first visit

Really enjoyed our stay st the Old Vicarage! A lovely place where we were able to relax despite a family funeral. Great service, a lovely room and wonderful breakfast. The only thing I would say is that you’re not easy to find on google which means you may be loosing out on new business. (Which is a real shame as fabulous stay!) might be worth looking at how to raise your profile/join booking.com or similar.

This was for my wife’s 65 birthday as we had last visited many many years ago. Everything was fabulous from the warm welcome on arrival to departure from Martin supplying us with an atlas to the wonderfully cooked breakfast by Dianne plus a lovely honesty bar - a lot of the hotel chains could learn such a lot from here Bedroom was spotlessly clean as was the bathroom - how you got all that in a small space amazed me and the toiletries were lovely. Hopefully we will be back sooner rather than later

There are so many good restaurants in St Ives and surrounding are Dianne has listed some in the book in reception So many places to visit Mousehole, the Eden Project all the beaches in St Ives

It was very plesant stay for two nights. Very quiet and cozy. The breakfast was excellent, and the staffs are friendly and helpful. We forgot one personal stuff in our room but it was kindly sent to us by post immediately. It has been delivered. Thank you for providing a very good service.

It took 15 minutes to go to the centre of St. Ives and 20 minutes to come back to tge hotel on foot, and it was a bit steep. But it was perfect for us to do a little excercise especially after a big dinner.

We enjoyed a very comfortable stay at the Old Vicarage. The rooms are spotless, very generous tea and coffee facilities and the opportunity to collect fresh milk for beverages is a lovely touch. Bathroom amenities provided are of a high quality and the staff very attentive and welcoming. Finally the breakfasts are the best encountered on our 30 days of travelling- very good choice and perfectly executed. Would highly recommend

Just wandering around St Ives is a pleasure. It has a beautiful harbour and quaint shops. There are also lots of other towns and villages in a close vicinity to drive to or you can hop on a bus tour.

We loved this place. It's wonderful to come upon it so unexpectedly; the building and garden are marvellous, there's a help-yourself bar and sitting room downstairs, and the breakfast was absolutely great. It's not the cheabest B&B we've stayed in, but may be the one with the best value for money.

You can walk down to the beaches and restaurants of St. Ives in about 20-30 minutes (depending on the beach); even better, you can also easily go out into the fields and reach the coastal path in about 20 minutes.

Such a friendly welcome and relaxed surroundings. Breakfast was the best I've ever tasted at a B&B. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very old fashioned and quaint bedroom with perhaps a bit too many clashing patterns for some, reminded me of sleeping at my nans as a child, which wasn't a bad memory, far from it, but may not be to everyone's taste. Access to St Ives a walk down the hill, plenty of taxis waiting to bring you bavk at the end of the night if you dont fancy the 20ish min walk, reasonably priced and regular too.

A lovely old house with a nice room, a well equiped bar and delicious breakfast in the morning. Diane welcomed us and showed us evrything. We felt very welcome.

We just spend a few days in St. Ives in August, the busy period of the year. All restaurants were packed and it was not easy to make reservations. We particularly liked the sea food bar and the pub food at the Golden Lion

This was a friendly, clean and comfortable B and B. The food was good with special diets taken into consideration. A 15 minute walk to the beach may be too much for some but a cheap taxi service sorted this problem. Free parking was a special added bonus. There was nothing that I could fault with our room or the service we received.

Without doubt this is one of the best B&B's. This was our third stay and as usual we were warmly welcomed by Dianne and Martin, the proprietors. The premises and the grounds are absolutely beautiful and provide a wonderful back drop to a great holiday. The staff are very friendly and do a great job! The atmosphere is so special that it really does feel like home. All respect for Dianne and Martin who do a great job here - a true example of excellent hospitality. Note: The breakfasts are second to none!!

We love this part of Cornwall to go exploring and we would recommend that you buy a good travel guide to make the most of your holiday.

Thanks Loki (and Martin) for washing the car. It looks great. Good luck Loki on earning enough money to go to Tanzania with your classmates. We appreciated the suggestions for meals and the ride into town so we wouldn't be late for the Porthminster Beach Cafe reservation. Not having a reliable internet was frustrating but I understand that Martin is resolving that problem. The reading lights were great in the bedroom. Thanks for that. I appreciated the bar and the honor system.

This B&B is a 20 minute downhill walk to the center of town and a beautiful beach. The B&B is peaceful. The breakfast offered both hot and cold dishes and the choices were ample. The hosts were friendly and helpful.

There seems to be something for everybody to enjoy in St. Ives: beautiful seascapes and landscapes, great and varied food and drink, arts and crafts, especially ceramics, historic sites, and numerous hiking and walking trails. Exceeded all of our expectations for an enjoyable holiday

St Just - Bookshop Café - a second hand bookshop over a café that serves the best food and has the friendliest of staff. We always visit to look at the medieval wall paintings in St Just church too.

Old well kept house. Rooms and bathrooms spotlessly clean and decorated in sympathy with age of house. House kept very warm. Lovely garden. Excellent breakfast, homemade granola first class and Cornish breakfast made to order. Taxi into harbour only £6.

Old Vicarage is surrounded by houses and gate into it can be missed. Drive in and gardens very cleverly give impression the house is on it's own in the country. We had an excellent meal at Caffe Pasta in the harbour and very good lunch at the Beach Restaurant also in the harbour. New Tate gallery worth a visit

Beautiful old building, kept in style. Rooms excellent, great lounge and honesty bar, extensive breakfast choice. Old Vicarage is about 15 minutes out of town up hill so not so convenient for frequent trips into town but on the plus side has plenty of parking.

Bernard Leach pottery museum and studio is just round the corner. Habour View hotel great for afternoon tea. Porthminster gallery has wonderful but pricey artwork.

Wonderful place! Amazingly clean, fabulous breakfast and really comfortable beds...what more could one ask? Location if great as there is off street parking (gold dust in St. ives) and a reliable bus service that runs from the rugby club around the corner to the Tate gallery.

Beaches, the Tate, sea food cafe, blas burger, porthwidgen beach cafe, independent shops...oh and willy Waller ice cream (home made and the best!)

Dianne and Martin were so welcoming and helpful, they clearly love their home and grounds. Peter was super attentive at breakfast. We felt at home from the minute we arrived which was great. We were in Room 5 with views over the garden, we loved the décor and really beautiful bedding, plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. The bathroom was well equipped with toiletries and the blue and white Victorian toilet was so unusual. The breakfasts and packed lunches were excellent. We were only here for 3 nights but would have stayed longer and hope to return in the future.

Cliff top walks are lovely. The Seafood café in St Ives is well worth a visit, there is an excellent range of fresh fish as well as pork, chicken or steak. A visit to the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Gardens is a must. If you are able to time your visit to a guided 'tour' then do so it brings everything to life. This is a small garden but so much to see and very tranquil. If you want a good beach with plenty of space for all try Carbis Bay a short drive or train journey away. The Eden Project is about 90 mins away, expensive for a family and a long day particularly for the old or young - Take a packed lunch. The Lost Gardens of Heligan is supposed to be brilliant but we didn't have time to visit. The Old Vicarage is a fair walk uphill from the town. The walk into town is pleasant but do take a taxi (£5) or bus (£2) back - we did walk back once, it is steeper than you think and our legs ached for days!

The Breakfast was extremely good, with a wide choice of breakfast options. The homemade yogurt & fish cakes were very good indeed. The history of the old vicarage was interesting, it was decorated in keeping with a house that age.

St Ives is a lovely place. Nice small shops , & the galleries are good to see the talent of the local artists. In particular, The Tate, Barbara Hepworth museum & the Bernard Leach pottery are good to visit for those who are interested in art.

St Ives easy to be in, local buses from near to the hotel and returns up to 10.30 pm. Plenty of cafes restaurants but booking a little ahead I'd advised in busy times as walk-ins can be difficult.
