Ultimately it's the hosts that make all the difference. Jan and Peter were simply wonderful; they bend over backwards to help.

Very friendly and helpful. We had the small double which was perfect for our overnight stay. Cooked breakfast was lovely.
Tips:Beck's restaurant where we enjoyed fish and chips. Not far from the station, but check the train times before getting a car park ticket!

We stayed in the king room which was a good size and had lovely views of the beach. Beachwood house is in a great location, 10 minute walk down a hill to carbis beach and about a 15 minutes walk back up the hill, carparking is available near the beach. Bus stop 1 minutes walk which will take you straight to St Ives ( 5-10 minute journey). Great restaurant 2 minute walk away.
Tips:Visit st Ives many quirky shops and lots to explore. The sloppy Inn has a great atmosphere. The restaurants become fully booked quickly so we opted for fish and chips and sat on the beach! For great food go to la casita which is a 2 minutes walk from beachwood house, but makesure you book as it gets busy. Porthcurno Beach is spectacular and makes you feel like you are abroad! Falmouth also makes for a fun day out

Had a very relaxing time here, it was our Golden Wedding Anniversary on the 9th July and the proprietor gave us a bottle of champagne and chocolates to celebrate our day.
Tips:Had a great time here at Carbis Bay, the transport system was brilliant, both the train and the local buses and taxi service. Thoroughly recommend the open top bus from St. Ives very good connections everywhere around the area. Visited St. Ives, Penzance, Newlyn, Lands End, Mousehole. The restaurants recommended in the hotel information book were all very good especially, Becks fish and chip restaurant and La Casita, they were within walking distance. St. Ives was also very good for restaurants especially 57, Fore Street where we had our Golden Anniversary meal.

Excellent place to stay, easy access to St Ives by bus and via car
Tips:Best place to eat, La Casita restaurant just a few minutes walk from Beechwood House. Minack Theatre is a must to visit, stunning views and for those of us who love our gardens, it really is a must view if you are going to Cornwall.
